+ -1 moreThe awning took a while to be delivered by the manufacturer and was a little pricy; neither of which were Wilmington Awning’s fault. The friendly professionalism, quality and service were all outstanding. The service was on time as scheduled and done right by very professional installers. I asked for a small adjustment to the porch enclosure (which turned out to be more involved than I thought) and they came out the next day and got it perfect. Wilmington Awning is a great local company that I recommend and will use again.

Description of Work: We went to their store to discuss replacing our awnings 12 year old canvas and motor. When we got there were greeted promptly and I explained to the woman what we wanted and gave her the exact dimensions from the original awning installation. Prices were quoted to us based on our choice of motor and canvas material. Rep/installer then came to talk to us and again we showed him the canvas dimensions from original installation. He stated that he would need to come out to make sure that there would not be any installation problems and to verify the dimensions. We agreed on a time and date and left. The rep/installer came to our home as agreed up on time. He went to the awning location and checked to see that there was no concerns or installation problems (there were none). He then checked the dimensions that he had written down and measured to verify that they matched and were identical (they did match). Satisfied with all aspects of the job, the rep/installer started to due some sort of calculations. He did them several times and then stated that something did not add up right. He then called his office. He confirmed the canvas material and dimensions were accurate as he on his order. She then must have checked something and stated that she made a mistake when she calculated the material dimensions by transposing a number making the material much costlier. I stated that we gave you the correct material dimensions and they were verified and matched the quote given to us. I should not be held responsible for an internal company error. I can see the rep/installer felt bad, but stated that he had to call the owner to honor the original prices quoted. He called and basically the owner did not care if the office made a mistake, if I did not have a signed final contract, he was not going to absorb the cost difference. I stated that I would be willing to compromise some because I already told the other bidders they did not get the job. The owner said no compromise pay the new price or find someone else to do the job. We found someone else and will never call them again.
