Absolutely would not use this guy. First off he's rude. Second he's very unprofessional. He doesn't seem to know what he's doing. We called him to see if we could get an estimate on work for a crawl space in the home we are in the process of buying. He requested to look at the home inspection. When he called he said it was just a mess and started explaining his process. When we asked how much an estimate would be, he went through the whole process again. My husband asked a few times what it would take to get an estimate. Finally he said it would cost us $3,000 FOR AN ESTIMATE. That he would have to do half the work to get an estimate. My husband then asked him if he could send us an invoice for this, or a written estimate through email. Something very important to the home buying process. He then became irate and started asking us if we had put money down on this home and how much. Things that don't pertain to him and are none of his business, nor do they affect sending us an invoice. He then started lecturing my husband about how 3 other people had called him who are also buying a home, and his time is limited. This guy is off his rocker and completely lost. What kind of company asks for $3000 for an estimate and won't even send an invoice or written estimate? Stay away. I warn you!

I presented W.F. Gray with an impossible job—and they totally delivered. How impossible? Pack rats infested the earthen cellar of my remote mountain cabin during the winter. If you know anything about pack rats and what they can accomplish in a day, much less several uninterrupted months, you know what a hellish challenge this presented. In fact, no one within a 100-mile radius of my cabin was equipped to handle this job. Then I found W.F. Gray. On just a few days notice, Frank Gray and his crew drove 2.5 hours and arrived as promised at 8:00 in the morning. Then, in one very long day, they cleared SIXTY (60!) construction sacks' worth of rat nesting and waste (1,500 pounds of it!), power-cleaned the space, then coated all surfaces with a powerful but non-toxic sanitizing fluid. It didn't matter that I was almost 2,000 miles away when all this happened, because Frank provided me with numerous before-and-after photos. Before: a tangled, toxic swamp you wouldn't wish upon your worst enemy. After: a bare, clean space where you could serve tea if you so desired. Long and short: W.F. Gray performed an almost impossible job quickly, thoroughly, and at a very reasonable price. Five stars.

Frank Gray is the most respectful, professional, knowledgeable hardest working gentleman I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. We have a 70 year old house that smelled of mold and mildew. He eradicated the mold under the house, and we started noticing the difference the very next day. He repaired / reconstructed multiple crawl space vents that were below the surrounding ground. He cleared out a TON of "junk" under the house that we had no idea was there. He installed a moisture barrier throughout the entire crawl space. He added two more crawl space entrances to minimize disruption of the crawl space by vendors going under the house. While down there, he identified leaks in old plumbing and worked with our plumber to address. He added insulation under the entire floor between floor joists and now our hardwood (throughout the house) is noticeably warmer to walk on. I will definitely use Frank Gray again for all our insulation needs!

The job went extremely well and very efficient. Old insulation was removed in one day then a sanitizer spray was applied. The next day new insulation was blown in. This can be a loud and messy job but the team laid down plastic to protect the floors and everything was cleaned up perfectly. It is like a new attic now and the old musty smell is gone. Highly recommend W.F. Gray.

My crawlspace is now well protected against excess moisture. My insulation should be more effective now, since there are no gaps between the insulation and the floor. I can keep an eye on the humidity with the weather station, which has a LCD screen in the house. Frank was very friendly and helpful and explained everything he was doing. Fixing the door to the crawlspace was an unexpected service, and small details like that make a real difference. I am very happy with the work he did and the timely manner in which he did it.
Description of Work: Installed a moisture barrier in the crawlspace and put insulation supports in the floor (builder had installed insulation, but without supports.) Also installed a bar on the crawlspace door to make it easier to lift the door off. Repainted the door. Also installed a weather station device to measure temperature and humidity in the crawlspace.
