Had The Sun Room Store in Wilmington NC come give us a estimate and explain they're system of installing a Sun Room to the back of our home. We already had a screened in porch in place and they were to close in our porch with a kick board of 35" and the rest would be windows. They told us it would cost $5600.00 to do this. We agreed and gave them the down payment for them to order the windows. When the windows came in they came to our home while we were at work and started the job. We came home and saw what they were putting in and called them immediately because what they were putting in is not what the salesman said it was. He came out the next day and said how sorry he was and promised us that the product they were putting in was as good as what we thought they were putting in and that the product would keep my wife's plants from freezing over the winter. We reluctantly agreed. They came out again at the end of the week and continued the work but had to stop again because the man that was the leader of the two men turned out to be on drugs and lost it while working on our sun room. The next week another crew came out and finished the job, unfortunately not doing so with any quality. They installed windows made out of vinyl film from the floor to the ceiling instead of the 35" kick board we had wanted. there is also gaps around the windows and the frame, wrong colored vinyl around the outside that they painted trying to match the windows and a right swinging door instead of a left swinging door we had asked for. We contacted the company over and over again. finally at the end of April they brought a left swing door to the house and put it in, again to our dismay the door was not wide enough to fit the frame it went in so it had to be shimed with about two inches of shims. We have called and talked to the Company Manager in Wilmington NC and we have called and talked to the owner in Elizabeth City NC several times. Now they will not even answer the phone calls any more and we have started the process of reporting them to the appropriate authorities and will probably end up having to take them to court. At this time all we want is for them to come and take their product back and to give us our money back. Beware of this company! on their web site they promise allot, even a guarantee of Satisfaction or your money back. Do not believe it.

Horrible, horrible company!! Initially, the salesman, Joshua, and the team were great about working with us to get an estimate and get everything set up. Once we paid the deposit, however, it went all downhill. We were told once we got HOA approval, it would take about 2 weeks to fabricate the sunroom structure and 2 days to construct at the most. We got HOA approval in late March; they finished the work in July. Nothing they told us from that point on held true. They had to repour a 1 foot by 10 foot piece of concrete, and to do this, they proceded to dig up 3 feet of our yard, pile the dirt by the side, and leave it. They left us with the trench in our yard for weeks, and did not return our calls. They never returned to move the dirt or reseed all the grass they killed, and we had to wheelbarrow it ourselves after 2 months of it sitting there and replant the areas. After repeated calls, they finally began to show back up to the site. On the first day of actual work, they drilled through our wall and shorted out our electrical system. We then had to arrange for and pay for an electrician to come in and repair the wire (they did say they would reimburse us for the electrician and the contractor to fix the wall damage, but we are still waiting on that). We were told they would clean the jobsite each time so that there would be no loose nails, etc. We ended up sweeping up nails and metal shavings on 2 different occasions, filling 2 large trash bags, not to mention picking up cigarette butts and soda cans- all of which were a hazard to our pets and family. We were fairly patient in the beginning, and we are not difficult people. After several days turned into several weeks between each small item they did, (they would pour concrete, then not show for 3 weeks, lay the track, then not show up for 2 weeks, etc), we began calling. We were always promised they would be out the next day, then never they showed. Then they stopped answering our calls. A manager got involved, and someone did show up the next day to start work. After that person finished though, another week went by with no word from anyone, and when we contacted the manager, she was rude and condescending- all we wanted to know is someone else was coming out to finish, and when that might be. Amazingly enough, once they were done, they had no problem finding our number and calling us (at 7 am, no less) to get the rest of the payment. We did speak with the owner about all the problems we had, but with little satisfaction other than an apology. In the end the screened porch was completed, but the process of getting to it was so distasteful and horrible, we will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. We definitely wish we had never chosen this company to work with, and encorage everyone to steer clear of The Sunroom Store.

I worked with the salesman named Joshua Adams. The people, who did the actual work, were from a subsidiary company. They tore down a covered porch and built a slab. Later, they built a sun room on it. The room is big. Basically, they prefabricated everything. The roof panel was aluminum. The part of the wall was glass. Two of the walls were existing walls. There was a delay because of the rain. I spent more than I thought I was going to. I had some problem with the heating and cooling. So, I had to put in a ductless heat pump. So, it cost me an additional hike in the cost by $4000. I was planning to spend about $35000 for everything. They did a really good job. They had to handle some real problems. They had the room up and had the panels up for the roof. However, there was a rainstorm. They fixed everything. They fixed the leaks. There were no problems with them. Once I got past some problems in the beginning, everything they did was excellent. When they first got started, there was nobody in charge. There were a couple of guys. One guy had a personal problem. So, for a while, there was always somebody new showing up to do the work. Finally, a guy came down. He was one of their main people. Once, he came out, everything was fine. The plumbers that they got did a good job. They had to do some work later. So, they came back and did the job. I didn?t research much about the price. When I met them initially, I liked the work that they had already done. I will use their services again in the future.
