The workers are prompt, courteous, and very knowledgeable of their job. The job required 2 days labor, with the first day coming and setting the poles in concrete, while returning the next morning, within 5 minutes of times specified, to finish the job. It was almost a 100 degrees each day, but they worked diligently without stopping until the job was competed. The job done was top notch and I couldn't be more pleased. I would definitely hire this company again in the future for additional fencing needs.

Perhaps a bit more than others, but they showed up on time, and returned my calls every time. Had trouble finding a fencing company because no one would return my calls or didn't show up. Called T&D and they came on time, gave an estimate, and got me on their schedule. Crews showed up on time, worked their tails off in the heat, and gave me a good fence for our property. Got a standard 6' picket fence with a walk through and drive through gate.

Tim had come to my home to give me a quote. He was very professional and listened to my concerns on the installation of the fencing. The fence was delayed by the manufacture by approximately one week. Upon notification of delivery date T & D immediately scheduled my new installation date to my availability. Cameron and Omar came on the 18th for the installation. They were very professional and polite throughout the process. I advised Cameron of my concern on having no spacing on the bottom of the fence if possible. They made every effort to make sure that my concerns where met. On several occasions they had to dig down approx. 6 inches to make sure the fence was right on the ground and no higher then 1/2 inch. Cameron always asked me if he felt something would work a little better. If I would like to have it done that way instead. These two gentlemen are such a great asset to your company, It was a pleasure to have them install my fencing. I have seen some pretty bad installation jobs on fencing where the fence is not level and the bottom of the fence is a foot or more off the ground in places. Would not have happened if T & D had installed it. T & D does quality work, gives a reasonable price and listens to the customers concerns. I would not hesitate to use them again and have already highly recommended them to some of my neighbors. This company is a representation of what quality customer service should be.

I was most impressed with this company. I communicated with them via Angie's List email and set up time for a quote. The representative arrived on time and was very professional, giving me prices for both repairing and replacing the fence behind my townhouse. I decided to replace it. The workers did a great job! Fence looks amazing! The contact person always answered his phone, showed up on time, made sure the work was completed professionally and that I was happy with the results. I highly recommend this company.

We are extremely pleased with the quality and craftsmanship of the work. Because the lumber company failed to deliver all the supplies, the crew had to return 2 days later. The crew stayed into the evening (7:30 p.m.) to complete the job. Impressive! The deck and lattice is solidly built and will be around for a very long time. The crew were efficient and very courteous. They cleaned up after completing the work and left no debris. We definitely recommend T&D for your deck or fencing needs. They are reliable, efficient, and provide a quality product and service. Now I can get down to some serious Texas BBQ and Faitas cooking. You guys did Good!!

The work was completed as per the contract. There are no complaints regarding the quality of the work. The contractor was very prompt in providing an on-site estimate and the work was completed within 2 days. Very satisfied.

This is an excellent husband and wife company. Daphne takes care of scheduling and sent Tim out promptly to give us an estimate. Hubby had additional questions, and Tim came a second time with samples of fencing. The fence crew was professional, courteous, and worked until the job was done. They cleaned up beautifully. The porch and steps took a little longer due to some custom materials that took awhile to be delivered, and rain delay. The construction crew was also very professional. They worked one full (10 hour) day and again another evening. The cleanup was very good, and the crew adjusted a gate beneath the porch that we did not like. (We thought it would be two doors with a center opening and the original build was for one bigger door.) No extra charge for that! We have a dock that will need some work in the future and T&D will be the company to do the fencing! HIGHLY recommended. Very ethical and wonderful customer service and communication.

T & D Custom Fence Company recently installed a 6 foot board on board privacy fence in my back yard. They were prompt and prided great communication. The fence they istalled is high quality and looks great. They also provided a very competitive price - almost $1,000 cheaper than a competitor. Our new fence is sturdy and will last for years. Provider responded quickly to my call, especially important to me as the dogs needed an intact fence in the yard. I also thought there would be a considerable wait, given the ice storm did a lot of damage to trees and fences in Wilmington. He then did an estimate, and completed the work when he said he would. There were no problems at all, and the fence he installed matched the original perfectly.

I met Tim at a local event and was very impressed with his presentation. I had already gotten a quote from another, well-respected company in Wilmington but asked him if he would mind giving us a quote as well. T & D not only beat that quote (without ever seeing it), but also guaranteed it; the other company had only guaranteed it for 10 days ?based on the price of wood?. A few weeks later, we had a brand new fence for our backyard. And we weren?t easy customers! One section had to replace my neighbor?s 6 ft stockade fence?then we transitioned down to a 5 ft dog-earred fence with one-inch spacing and a gate. On the other side of the house, we had a 4 ft dog-earred fence with two-inch spacing plus a gate. From the street, you can scarcely see the difference. One afternoon to set the posts and another day to build out the rest. The crew was polite, respectful and their workmanship was excellent?I especially liked the hardware they used on the gates. My mom and I are very pleased and will definitely invite T & D back when we decide to build out that patio. Thank you!

Scheduling and the work were both fine. They built the gate on-site. They were busy but fit us in and even came when it was raining. They came out initially to give us an estimate. I was pleased and the price was good. The quality was excellent; it's exactly what I wanted.

Went well, no surprises, pleased with results.

Perfect. The fence posts were put in a couple of days prior to the actual fence installation. The workers were polite, helpful and answered questions I had. They worked hard and the job was done very well. They paid attention to the smallest detail. They did exactly what was asked of them. When finished they tidied up the yard to ensure there was nothing left out of place and they asked me if there was anything more they could do. This was the only company that followed this through from the beginning. My job was not a huge undertaking and two other companies dropped the ball and left me in a lurch. I have a dog that had just had surgery that could not go on normal walks. I was not able to have her out without a leash and desperately needed a fenced in back yard. T&D came to my rescue and took the job. I will recommend them to anybody in need of deck or fencing work. They also do design for yards and when I design a pattern for my back yard they will be the first business I call. I could not be happier or say enough about the service they provided.

Came out, measured, never gave me an estimate. Never called. He could have told me that he was not interested in the job. Good luck with this guy. Let's hope he is interested in your job.

Beautiful fence, excellent workmanship, on time, very punctual. I could not be on site while the work was being performed and I was delighted to find that everything was well done.

This was my wife's project--a fence to contain her miniature dauchsand. It was a long, complicate road, mostly due to the restrictive covenants of the planned community in which we live but T&D won the day. They called on the first scheduled day, a Monday, to report they would not be there as scheduled but would begin on Tuesday. On Tuesday, the workers showed up with materials followed very shortly by the owner. By Wednesday, 3 pm, it was done. A board-on-board fence of approximately 75 linear feet, constructed on site by two workers without direct supervision. I did not believe the time estimate when I first heard it but they got it done. Nice guys, hard workers, very accommodating. They tidied up when the work was done. I couldn't be happier and my wife is also very pleased with the finished product. Update April 24, 2012: Last Friday, we discovered that the installers had broken an irrigation line with one of the posts (at least one) resulting a largish hole around it. My wife called the on Monday morning and he responded they would have someone out today or tomorrow. About 2:00 pm the following day, a young man showed up and by 2:30 it was repaired. He also dug out around the "downstream" post to determine that they had not also broken the line at that point. Very professionally handled in my estimation.

I got the name of the company from Angie's List as well as a 5% off coupon. Called him, he came the next day to take a look and gave us an estimate. We agreed to it, and set a start date. That day came and they didn't show up. When I called he explained that due to our wet, ugly weather he was behind on a job and needed to reschedule to the next Monday. I agreed at that time, but then had to reschedule to that Wednesday. They showed up promptly. During the digging of post holes they cut the cable to the house as well as damaged a sprinkler head. We had to get the cable co. out to repair that cut and they fixed the sprinkler head. The next day, they were late showing up and the owner came over to check on everything and to do the sprinkler repair. They finished on schedule regardless. The fence is nice, but we would give it a 7 out of 10 due to some different things...a gap here, the concave on the gate doesn't really match the rest of the sections there, etc. Nothing that we will pay to have fixed or changed as it's not significant. The were all very polite and professional although one seemed to stay on his phone a lot. They did honor the coupon.

Tim was on time, with the estimate add contract. His workers were there on time and performed a great job. Also they cleaned up everything. Good job overall.

I have wanted a nice deck off the back of our old house, but was always concerned about digging through the root systems of our towering trees. For many years I have put off this project because I didn't feel comfortable with other contractors insisting that their auger machines wouldn't harm the root systems. Tim Wells and his excellent crew were always careful in their hand-digging, and patient with my nervousness, even re-spacing the piers a little so that they would not disturbed the tree roots. The materials he used were first rate. My husband commented that all of the lumber looked like the pressure-treating chemicals penetrated very deeply into the wood. A neighbor had a new deck built only last fall, and my uprights and the planking are much thicker, and my deck seems much more proportionate to the scale of my old house, not skimpy. Because of the way my yard is situated, I wanted the steps cut at a 45-degree angle from a corner of the deck. I also wanted the posts and handrails set in about 12" from the sides of the steps so I would have places for potted plants without tripping over them. Tim's crew had no problems calculating and then constructing all of this, and it looks better than I ever imagined. I agree with a previous poster that the crew cleaned up after themselves very well. Other things I am happy about: there was a working foreman; they showed up on-time with all their supplies; and besides the one hour when they left for lunch, they were always working -- I never saw them just standing around. The deck itself was completed in only one day -- they were back early the next morning to finish the railings and trim and also to clean up. Amazing! If Angie's List had the option to include photos of our new deck, I would add them to these comments in a heartbeat.

They did exactly what they had advertised they would do. It is a nice-looking fence and we have got a lot of compliments on it. It was done when they said they were going to do it. They cleaned up all the mess and it was a very pleasant experience. It was done well and I would use them again.
