On Jan. 27, 2014, I noticed water streaming into my kitchen from the closet wall in which my hot water heater was contained. I immediately began rolling up towels and anything else porous I could find to block the water coming from under the wall. I called Home Serve at Progress Energy (now merged with Duke), and they took my information and said a plumbing contractor would contact me within the next two hours. Not even an hour later, I heard from Signature Plumbing, and the lady on the phone offered me an appointment for Wednesday, Jan. 29. Once I explained that it was an emergency, however, she contacted one of the plumbers (Chris), who she said was finishing up on a job and would be to my home within the hour. Chris arrived earlier than I thought and checked out the situation. There were a few issues I needed to take care of with the wiring, so he drained and capped off the tank for me and told me he would be back first thing in the morning to complete the job. We were expecting a huge ice/sleet/snow storm on the 28th, and he wanted to get it fixed for me before that. True to his word, Chris and another plumber (I think his name was Thomas?) arrived early on the 28th with a new water heater. They removed the old one and replaced it with the new heater, did all the hook-ups, filled it, checked for leaks, etc. before they left. The sleet had started to fall by the time they got on their way. Since Home Serve was paying for the heater/labor, I simply signed the paperwork. Chris was professional, knowledgable, helpful, friendly, and courteous. He seemed very concerned that this work had to be completed immediately. I couldn't have asked for a better service provider, and I would definitely call this company in the event that I need a plumber in the future.
Description of Work: Honored a repair/replacement contract I had with Duke Energy Progress on my water heater and provided a new water heater and labor to install it.
