I called and explained that liquid was seeping out of the top of the septic tank, but the warning light had not come on. John spent 10 minutes on the phone with me asking questions and then explaining where I need to look for tripped breakers or blown fuses. I followed his instructions and was able to find a tripped breaker at the unit (severe lightning storms a few days previous) and got the unit up and running. No service call, and no charge. I highly recommend Sewer & Drain Medic.

As a Realtor and home inspector I have recommended this company for almost a decade, service is unrushed and top notch every time. I recently used them to service my own septic system, great service once again. I make the same mistakes most homeowners do in the treatment of a septic system and after only 5 years my system was on the brink of failure, these guys cleared my mistakes and saved me thousands. Lesson #1, don't wait 5 years to service your septic system!

Vendor arrived before agreed time, and had no appointment with me personally. I was not even planning on being there, but instead was going to be billed. I decided to go check it out, and found a young man with kitchen gloves elbow deep in sewer water trying to stick a jet pipe into the distribution box. I watched them for 15 minutes while the owner John kept cursing and shaking his head saying it wasnt working and they were going to have to start digging. He made a display of negative remarks and basically said unless they dug it up there was no hope. 15 minutes. That was the full extent of their efforts. I told them not to do anymore work because I had already decided no matter what, I did not want him on my property doing anything at all and would find another vendor. I walked back to my vehicle and he shouted at me who to make the bill to. Since I had already spoken to another person with the company about this, and I was supposed to be getting billed, this surprised me. But I gave him the name of the LLC and took the bill from him. He said he "was not leaving without a check" and the bill was for $150 more than we had agreed upon. I told him this and he flippantly called the other person, saying to him on the phone that it was supposed to be the price he quoted me, basically bullying him into agreeing. I disagreed politely, and he then told me to move my (expletive) vehicle and he didn't want my (expletive) money and he would call the county health department and let them know my system was failing. After he left his partner called me and apologized for his behaviour, and agreed on the phone that this was commonplace, and that it was not the first time it had happened. He offered to come back to another property for free to make up for it the next day. He did not show up, and when I called him, he told me he forgot. Needless to say I just received the complaint letter from the county health department based on the call that this angry individual placed. I will deal with that with another professional firm and have it professionally repaired, but it will cost me far more because of the actions of this man. The other property was treated and repaired by a different firm, for the agreed upon price, which was $150 less than the inflated hustled price of Sewer Medic. I will point out that I have been builder/developer/Realtor for 25 years, and am not a novice with this, and will be sure to use every opportunity possible to warn others of this rude man and very unprofessional firm. My friend who is also a home inspector who had said what a great deal he got is now aware of how this company could tarnish his reputation. They gave him a low price expecting him to refer him to unsuspecting and ignorant consumers, but if he had taken the time to find out a little about me, he would have realized that I am not one of those. Pity the people who have to deal with this company.

Description of Work: My septic tank overflowed after just being cleaned out and the lines jetted a few months ago. They explained that the drain lines cake with dry sludge and that a fracking approach can save considerable money relative to a replacement of the drainage system. The fracking worked, they replaced the distribution box, installed a line to supply copper sulfate to kill roots, and then provided a 3 year warranty. They checked all of my toilets to prevent unnecessary leakage, and fixed one toilet free of additional charge. Though more expensive that I was hoping for, they fixed the problem and now I have a 3 year warranty. The representatives were knowledgeable, professional, and quick.

Went very smooth!! I had recently bought this property and wanted to be certain where all septic components were before I started laying out a new circular drive. I called one day and Anthony gave me a verbal quote and we agreed to meet the following morning at 8:30. He arrived on time and located all the components very quickly with my 1999 septic permit printout and his probe tool. He then dug up and uncovered all 3 concrete lids. He pumped, cleaned the effluent filter and then located and verified that drain field was gravel instead of the cheaper Styrofoam. He also explained that my tank was "traffic rated" which was good news. He also suggested that I might want to removed one Bradford pear near my drain field. I will call them again for any septic needs and could have saved myself some money had I used them pre-purchase for the septic inspection instead of another realtor recommended provider. I had him to leave the lids free of dirt so I could "mark" with some scrap bricks flush to ground to permanently locate. 100% positive experience and fair price.
Description of Work: Located all the septic components (in flow, outflow, distribution box and 3 drain field lines. Pumped septic.
Could not be more pleased. We didn't have to wait weeks to be scheduled. They were friendly, professional and made sure everything was flushing fine before leaving. We have a 3 year warranty. I would recommend this company to my friends.

We have a venting issue with our septic we are aware of and are getting fixed but I also had a concern about another potential issue with the Septic so called and they picked up the phone. I spoke with a very knowledgeable gentlemen for at least 15 minutes described my concern, he asked some other questions to get an understanding of the issue and he stated he really did not think we have an issue and once the venting issue is resolved we should be all set, but if not to give him a call back and he would be happy to come out. He did not have to take the time to explain and listen to my concerns but did. I don't need it pumped right now, but when I do I will having them pump my system.

I called the sewer and drain medic's after moving into a house that was a foreclosure and not knowing the history of the house or the septic system. I called them on short notice. Anthony answered the call. Fortunately for us they were 12 minutes away at the time of the call enroute to their next job. Anthony and Phil showed up on schedule and ready to work. They provided us quite a education on septic systems as we have had no extended experience with being on septic in our previous homes. This system is 20 years old. They were provided a challenge right from the get go in that none of us knew where the septic tank was in the yard. After about 15 minutes they discovered it was under our deck. After another 20-30 minutes we ended up having to remove several boards from the deck to access the tank. Anthony and Phil did a phenominal job and worked diligentely to access the tank. It was a team effort and I helped them remove the deck boards to access the tank. What should have been an hour job took 2. These guys were very professional the whole time and explained everything they did in detail before they did it. These two guys had a very strong work ethic and knew their S**t. After a few laughs along the way. These guys deserve way more credit than I can write on the work that they do. I will say that in todays world finding guys like Anthony and Phil is hard to come by and I hope their supervisor continues to take care of them. In the end they provided us with a detailed report of our septic system and recommendations to maintain the health of it. Extremely pleased with the service they provided on short notice and will not hesitate to call on them again if we ever have a problem.

After I called as stated above Anthony and Phil showed up ready to work. These guys are on top of their game and were courteous professional and extremely knowledgable. Our request for a septic inspection turned into quite a job for them after they discovered our septic system was under our deck. We had to move several boards in order for them to access it to inspect. A job that should have taken an hour for them turned into 2. These guys were up to the task under challenging circumstances. I was incredibly impressed by them and they are an asset to their company. I will definitely call on them again for the work the do. It was $250 for the inspection and stress test and would have been an additional $250 to have it pumped out which fortunately they informed us it was recently pumped out and should not need service in another 3 to 5 years.
Description of Work: When the sewer and drain medic's showed up they were very through in explaining how septic systems work which I appreciated .When I called them and explained my situation on needing and inspection on my septic system they informed me that they could stop by on the way to their next job. They arrived in 15 Minutes ready to work. They opened up the septic tank after searching for it several minutes after they discovered it was under our deck. After having to remove several boards to access it. They explained in detail what they were doing and why. They gave me quite an education on how septic systems work and let me observe everything and performed a stress test on the system. Very professional service and all around great guys that showed up. Many thanks to Anthony and Phil!!

During the ice storm, I learned we had a ruptured sewer line in the crawl space under our house. Drain and Sewer Medic was recommended by a friend of mine. When I called the owner, John, was very nice and told me, "It is not the end of the world. We will take care of you. Please don't worry." At 8:00am the next morning, John called me to let me know he was at our house. He had driven there in the ice and freezing rain. When I asked if he was really there (we had to evacuate our home), he said, "I told you, if I could make it, I would get here." John and his co-worker dug down 2 feet to reach the pipe and replaced 21 feet of the sewer line. They also cleaned the mess for me. John waited a few days to make sure I was happy and everything was in great working order, before handing me the bill. I was amazed at the price and almost kissed him! You would need to pay me a BUNCH more to do that work! I will call upon Drain and Sewer Medic for all of my plumbing needs in the future.

Description of Work: On initial visit (2/1/14)pumped out overflowing junction box and advised that it probably would overflow again in a few weeks if they didn't "frack" it. We elected to wait and see; they were right. In 2-3 weeks system overflowed again. They returned and completed thejob with a 3-year warrantee, Only problem was the mess left behind. Surface was restored to original contours, but numerous rocks were unearthed and left -- maybe that was to be expected.

I have used this service two times. Once when I first moved into my home because the septic field was clogged and secondly to replace the pump and floats. That cost me over $800. On both occasions, they arrived on time and did a good job on the repairs. On the second call for the burned out pump, I think it may have been caused by debris that fell into the tank on the first repair. The debris had again clogged the field because I saw the debris shoot out of the pipes that feed the field. They cleaned up and leveled the yard both times where they had to dig in the yard.

Seems like it's a bit of a home buyer rip off that they come to inspect the septic and that they can't empty the septic, if necessary, at the same time. The fact that they have to come back makes it a double charge.

I will say that all the work was done as he said it would be done and they were on time and maybe even a bit early. However, upon leaving the house this man or one of his crew backed their trailer into a brick culvert at the end of the driveway and cracked it in half. We immediately sent him pictures and spoke to him on the phone within about 30 minutes of him leaving. He said he would come back and take a look at it and take care of the problem. After about 3 weeks of numerous phone calls and empty promises that he would come by to fix the bricks we finally had to contact his insurance company directly to get the matter resolved. This could have been dealt with quickly if he would have paid the few hundred dollars to fix it rather than pretending he was going to resolve the matter on his own but never took the time to deal with us honestly.
Description of Work: They used a system called Terra Lifting to break up the sludge and slime in the rock bed of the drain field. He had a machine inject air into the ground and it caused the rocks and the soil to move allowing the drainage field to flow again. He also repaired two lines of the drainage field that were blocked and hydro jetted the lines to make sure they we clear.

We had water flooding the garage from the sink there backing up when the washing machine was emptying. The fee was very reasonble considering the time and effort it took to resolve the problem.

We were told by others that the entire yard would need dug up and the tank replaced. Only the tank area of the yard had to be opened up to clear out the roots, the rest of the yard was left alone except for some small areas where they inserted the machine to clear the distribution lines. It was an amazing process - it took from 8am until about 2 pm and it saved us nearly $4000!! Definitely call John before you let anyone else tell you the entire system needs replaced. He knows what he's talking about - he used to build and maintain entire municipal waste water systems. He and his guys are friendly, thorough and really proud of the good work they do. I will recommend them to my fellow landlords and real estate investors. We take our referrals very seriously and I will have no hesitation to recommend these guys to my colleagues.
Description of Work: John and his crew cleared 15 years of roots out of the septic tank, fixed the distribution box and got the entire drain field working again - after we had been told that the entire septic system would need replaced. A very expensive and destructive proposition!
