it was a nightmare!!!! About the time the cabinets, plumbing, appliacances, flooring in the kitchen art ripped out, and this( Non-licensed with the NC Board of Contractors or any other licensing agency that I can find} we find out this man is an ex-felon that spent many years in a NC prison for a very violent crime and of course although he openly represents himself as a licensed contractor, he is just a scam artist, but with our home torn apart him basically paid, and not wanting to deal with the possible outcome if we angered him because of him lengthy issue with NC Law Enforcement, a search on NCDOC.gov, for Joshua Hight will amaze you!! Josh is also an extremely large man, muscle builder type with a bald head, and with my husband and I both disabled we did not think it wise to rock the boat, for the most part after declaring the job finished and paid in full {which was our life savings by the way} the job didn't look to bad,,until,,,1.He was to replace the handle and hardware on the front storm door,, He had apparently glued it on,,two days later it came off in my hand,,,No Reponse from Josh after weeks of calls, voicemails and text. 2. Noticed that every seem could be seen in the sheetrock that was installed over existing 40 yr. old wall paneling, which we didn't want done that way but Josh assured us that was the best way, He was told the MOST Important issue to us was that no seems showed on the sheetrock that he hung in all the rooms mentioned above. 3. Cracking in the sheetrock immediately below the crown molding he installed at celling height. .Again, No response from Josh after numerous attempts. 3. And the is found the day before thanksgiving, apparently we he istalled the kitchen cabinets, hooked up the plumbing and ran the new water for the ice maker, the round hools cut out for the line to run through were left with hugh splinters hanging on them which pierced the line in the farthest back corner cabinet, this created a fine mist type leak which ran down the length of the home into the sheetrock, before finally having nothing left to saturate started coming up the new kitchen flooring, I called Josh immediately, he shockingly did respond {but by this time he had actually married into my daughters family, becoming my daughters brother-in-law} he instructed us to turn off the water, which of course we had, and assured he would be at our home first thing Friday morning. No he wasnt, I called Friday afternoon, he stated he had vehicle problems and would see us on Monday...No show called him , he would see us Tuesday,,No show,,this went on until mid December when I left him a voicemail stating if didn't intend to take of this[ ,which included floor damage, new cabinets rotted, mold and mildew in sheetrock on two kitchen walls], I would start legal action,, he responded with hatefull voicemail basically stating, try what I wanted he didn't give a sh++, We filled a smaill claims suit which was dismissed with advice from the magistrate to re-file in superior court as Josh claimed he was a family member of ours and this was all just because of family issues, which he isn't part of my family at all, [he married into my son in laws family not mine], Anyone we leave the courthouse, Josh doesn't,, we find out 2 weeks later that he swore warrants out for myself and my husband for threats, which of course was ridiculous, if we had been that type of people we would have gotten him out of our house the day we found out about his lying and his past. We are both disabled and I was right out of neck surgery when he claimed he was threatened. We had deal with the sheriffs dept, magistrates,, and paying an attorney to represent us in court,, which he had continued on the first court date, and then walked in and dropped the charges against us both on the next court date,,So he was paid $16.000, weve had to have all the above issues plus numerous more repaired or replaced by a reputable contractor. Attorney fees, At a point we thankful to just have our house back and him completely out of our life. We lost our life saving and had to go into debt because of Josh Hight aka Premier Properties, Premier Renovations aka, knows what other names, Everything I have said here can be verified by NC Court records, NC Board of Contractors, Small Business Assoc, City of Wilmington and pictures I have of the mess this man left my home in. Sincerely, Robbin Marchese Wilmington NC
