Excellent the whole experience was very well done Robert Throne was very helpful , I had never done this by myself before he and his staff helped me all the way thru. I could call them anytime for help I would gladly recommend them and pass there name on to others.

My wife and I were displaced by Hurricane Florence and we had been renting. I attempted to find another rental but they were either too high in the rent or because of our two dogs they were reluctant to rent to us, so we started looking around to buy a home instead of renting. I went to a couple of other realtors that really didn't help me too much in working for me, it was more of if they felt like helping me in the situation I was in. I had good renters insurance thru USAA that was housing us and the dogs at the Red Roof Inn in Jacksonville, NC. My credit score wasn't very good at the time and so I went about to repair it as best I could. Then a friend of mine got me with a realtor that was willing to work for me to the hilt and she got me set up with Robert Throne at Port City Mortgage that really got things cooking and in about 1 month we are now proud owners of a home all thanks to Renee Taylor at Weichert Realtor in Jacksonville, NC and Robert Throne at Port City Mortgage. They both never gave up and were there for us whenever I needed them. I will be telling everyone and anyone that is in need of a realtor or Mortgage company about both Business'.

Port City Mortgage handled my wife and I's recent home purchase in Wilmington, NC very professionally and with no delay. We only had to go through a single round of underwriting items so our loan was cleared to close very quickly. At the last minute, I decided to change my loan amount. They were understanding and turned the change around within 1 day so that we could close on time. I highly recommend this company for a purchase, or of course any time you need to get a mortgage.

If rates sound too good to be true, then they probably are. The lender they used charged us $490 for an appraisal. Appraisal came in over $10,000 more than purchase price, we were putting 20% down, and had perfect credit. Our loan was denied because they lender didn't like the comps used, but wouldn't use others either. Lender owned the company that selected appraiser, but wouldn't use the appraisal. PCM lender was very shady and we're out $490. PCM just wanted to switch us to another lender with a higher interest rate, and push closing further out.

I worked with Robert Throne on a 15-Year re-fi and would recommend him to anyone. He was prompt, knowledgeable, fair and kind.
