Peyson Siding and Roofing

I would suggest that no one should use Peyson Siding and Roofing or any company owned by Dennis Smith. Dennis Smith completed a roofing estimate for me in March 2020 and appealed to my being a disabled veteran to help him, another disabled veteran. On March 22, I entered into a contract with Peyson with a mandatory completion date of May 15, 2020. I was told that the roof would be done within 2 weeks. The material was to come from Union Corrugated. I was contacted shortly after that and told that the material had been delivered but was the wrong color. I had not had a chance to see the material. On May 5, Smith went to Texas and when he returned he claimed that a subsequent which was the correct color had been stolen from his business. On may 14, Smith said he had ordered the material and it would arrive soon. He had a crew remove the existing roof and lay down the underlayment, leaving me with basically no roof just weeks before hurricane season. Upon investigation with numerous roofing distributors, I learned the Smith had not placed the order. When confronted with this, Smith told me I would have to pay for the material because he had no credit with the supplier. I also learned that Union Corrugated did not do a take-off of materials until May 21, 2020, thus the existence of any orders of material being the wrong color or stolen were impossible. I lost all faith in Peyson Siding and Roofing and enlisted another roofing company. I have a received a judgment against Peyson Siding and Roofing in small claims court. 20CV001066
