Great guy. We had to do this remote (from out of state). He worked with us to get the flooring we liked and kept us updated the entire time. Was done ahead of schedule and assisted us with other services (picking up our spare/repair parts and storing them in our house). Would definitely recommend, contact us if you would like a more in-depth recommendation.

The craftsmanship was excellent. Rich kept us updated daily of progress. I would recommend Mathis Flooring to anyone. No corners were were cut and as mentioned the craftsmanship was impeccable.

Rich and his folks did a fantastic job for us, I couldn't be more pleased. His folks worked with the other contractors, flexing his schedule to when the flooring could be finished and protected the floor after it was down (because other contractors were still working in the house. Here is an example of their attention to detail. We wound up needing a thin long patch in our upstairs kitchen that was the result of other contractors (not Rish's folks) work. Rich's folks searched through 10 boxes of laminate to find the exact match and length needed to make the patch. You cannot tell where the patch was done, it was done so well. if you have the chance to hire him do it, you will be pleased with the result

They were excellent.. clean... friendly... totally trustworthy... but most of all completely thorough and did everything on time..

It went extremely well. The workers went to work immediately measuring out and making the necessary cuts and then stretching and resowing the carpet. No visible seams upon finish.

The experience was excellent. The carpet was difficult to install due to a complex pattern match and pattern repeat. The guys studied it, discussed it, questioned their own decisions before making a cut or stretch. There were numerous turns and corners along with many seams. They all look great. They were on the money with their quote, on time every day, were personable and professional. They also did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. Another positive was the removal of the old carpet. They cut it, wrapped it and took it outside. No throwing stuff out the windows.

Our house has red oak engineered hardwood floors that had been installed in 1996 in the dining room /entrance hall area and in 2006 in the kitchen. Overall the oak boards generally blend together with varying medium colors with an infrequent darker reddish board. The floors have a very high gloss shine from using Orange Glow Floor Cleaner/ Polish and with time have gained an orange tone. We loved the appearance of our floors. We first met Mr. Rich Mathis when the ?Discount House? sent him to measure our house because we were considering buying ?Timberland? engineered red oak flooring from them. While at our house, we told him we wanted to install hardwood floors in the rest of house that matched the floors we had but we had not been able to find red oak with a high gloss shine. We further told him we felt the red oak flooring at the ?Discount House? was a good match and with the application of Orange Glow on it, the old and new floors would blend together. I told him that I was very concerned about the quality of the ?Timberland? oak flooring since I saw some split boards in the loose wood at the ?Discount House?. Mr. Mathis told us ?Timberland? was bottom-grade wood flooring and he would go by the ?Discount House? to look at the ?Timberland? wood. He also told us his brother owned ?Got You Floored Store? and he would check to see if could find something that matched our floors if there was a problem with the ?Timberland? wood. We gave him a board of the wood used in the kitchen so he could match the floors in our house. Shortly after he called us and told us he had found several split boards in the boxes of the ?Timberland? flooring and said he wouldn?t buy it. About a week or two later, Mr. Mathis came back to our house with a sample board of various pieces of Mohawk flooring. On the board there was a single small piece of Red Oak Natural that Mr. Mathis said matched the piece of wood we had given him. Mr. Mathis said we could use Orange Glow on the new wood and with time it would match with the old wood. Later in court he denied he said that and said he didn't care about what we put on our floors. My wife made it point that she was concerned about the appearance selection of the wood boards installed and she didn?t want ?ugly boards? in the floor. Mr. Mathis assured us his people were trained to be selective about the boards they put down. On December 2, 2014; the floors were first installed in two small bedrooms. Mr. Mathis was at our house for only a short time that day and in fact was only at our house twice for a short time during the installation. With three workers in the two small rooms, we stayed out of their way. My wife Donnie did tell the installer that she didn?t want a floor that looks like a checkerboard. At the end of the day, we were told not to clean or walk on the floors until the next morning. The next morning I cleaned the floors and we were shocked with the appearance of the floors. They were totally different from our old wood floors in that they contained boards from dark blackish brown to white that did not blend together. The floor did have a checkerboard look or just a jumbled mess. They are ugly floors. There had been no effort to be selective about the boards installed. When we addressed our dissatisfaction with Mr. Mathis? people that morning, they went outside and called Mr. Mathis. Mr. Mathis came and got very unset with us saying he was going stop work and take the remaining wood back. After some discussion, his installer said he could be selective with the next two rooms and in fact did install better-looking floors with a blended appearance in the master bedroom and living room. After the new floors were installed, we discovered the new floors have a flat matte finish with 3M Scotchgard covering that repels everything. When we put Orange Glow on the new floor, it puddles into what appears to be candle wax. We now have two contrasting floors. It is now obvious that Mr. Mathis did not know the product he recommended to us. In fact, every time we asked a question while the floors were being installed, he had to call his brother. In court he said we should have researched this wood and acknowledged no responsibility for recommending this wood from his brother's store. Another issue is the installation of the molding and type of T molding used. They incorrectly installed the T molding and the shoe molding along the wall in the living room on each side of the room. They should have installed the shoe molding first and then ran the T molding on the floor to the shoe molding. They did the reverse creating a gap in the shoe molding along the wall. I had to spent 4 hours cutting out the T molding with a razor and inserting a piece of shoe molding since Mr. Mathis refused to fix it. Also the T molding Mr. Mathis had installed with the new floor has a 90-degree square edge creating a tripping hazard for my handicapped wife. The T molding we already have in our old floors has a tapered shape and the edge is not as high as the T molding installed by Mr. Mathis. So we now have two different T moldings in our house. Additionally, The ends of the shoe molding was poorly cut creating rough ends. On December 6 Mr. Mathis came to collect the payment. When we reminded him that we had given him of piece of our original wood floors and we couldn?t do anything with the finish on the new floors, he got very ugly with us telling us we had ruined our floors with Orange Glow and it was not his fault. This was the first time he had said that or made any reference that the Orange Glow was a problem. He also refused to acknowledge the poor appearance of the first rooms installed. He left without moving the furniture back into place in the living room. We basically feel Mr. Mathis has created a situation that is very difficult to correct and decreased the value of house. In the event we were to try and sell our house, the value would be quite a bit less costing us even more money. Our friends who have been in our house notice immediately the color difference and wonder what happened.

I was given the name of Rich Mathis from Discount Carpeting. I ask them to have him call me and he did the same exact day. He came to my home the next day, measured the areas I wanted the flooring installed and gave an estimate. Mr Mathis came the following week as he stated he would. He was punctual, professional, and extremely knowledgeable regarding to what I wanted done. He and his team Charles and Larry arrived ready not only to tackle the install but to correct wrong installation from a previous installer. Please do not hesitate to hire this company. Rich and his team enjoy what they are doing, they are pleasant to have in your home and don't waste a minute of time getting the job gone. I have only one regret, I did not hire Rich, Larry and Charles first. Well all is well and I am more than pleased with the results.

We had called a couple of other people recommended by the Discount house to install the carpet for us, but none returned our calls. I called Rich Mathis and he was out the same day to give me an estimate. Very professional! Gave me the estimate before he left. We scheduled to have the carpet installed the next week. He and his crew were very easy to work with. They arrived when they said they would and finished in a couple of hours. I would highly recommend Mathis flooring to anyone needing carpet installed.
