ISLAND LOCK & KEY

Island Lock & Key came out sooner than expected, pretty much right away! Instead of changing locks, they suggested rekeying the deadbolts, until I decided what kind of new locks I wanted. They pointed out that it would be less expensive to replace locks during regular day hours. They rekeyed my deadbolts on both my front and back doors, and provided me with two copies of keys. They saved me a ton of money! (Thank you!) Would DEFINITELY use them again, especially during non-emergency hours, as they are competent, courteous, professional & honest.

Couldn't be more satisfied! Nice for a change to experience excellent service at a very reasonable price. Also Scott has a great personality!

I moved into a new home and had my house rekeyed. I had a total of 6 locks changed (3 deadbolts and 3 regular door knobs). I called at 8:15am and Glenn was at my house by 9:30 (traveling from Wilmington to Hampstead). The entire job was done in minutes. Needless to say, the service was excellent. Glenn was friendly, helpful and very professional. In addition, appreciated all the additional information and clever suggestions he had for me. Over all, I'm a very happy customer.

After buying a home we contacted Island Lock and Key based on Angie's reviews and am very happy we did. Scott was great from initial contact, super responsive and easy to work with. He showed up on time and worked diligently and cheerfully through a driving rainstorm to get the job done. Due to a lack of a key he even had to pick a lock to replace a cylinder, great work! For all the work done (Rekey of 9 locks on 5 doors) the cost was very reasonable as well. Will use Scott again in a heartbeat and will recommend him to friends and neighbors.

Read the good reviews on Angie's List for this company, so when I was having trouble with a deadbolt lock we haven't used for many years, I gave them a call. The person who answered walked me through how to get the lock working again with the aid of some WD40. Very good experience!

We recently purchased a home in Wilmington and wanted the locks on all of the exterior doors replaced. We are new to the area, so I asked several people about locksmiths and then went to Angie's List to read reviews before choosing a company. Island Lock & Key seemed like one of the best - and I have to say that they lived up to their excellent reputation. Scott, the owner of the company, was professional, on time, and did a great job. Plus, the price was very reasonable. We will absolutely use their services again and I can not recommend them highly enough. Very happy with this company!

I received a referral about a year ago from Sentinel Security Co. to use Island Lock & Key. I didn't have the need until recently, but when I did, I didn't hesitate to call them. I called on a Thursday morning and Scott Cheatham's wife answered, took my information, and said Scott would call back later that day. He did and answered all my questions. I was curious to know whether I buying the lock hardware from him would be any better than buying it from Lowe's or Home Depot. He very honestly told me it would be about the same price, maybe a few dollars cheaper one way or the other. He recommended Schlage over Kwikset if I were buying a standard consumer grade lock, and suggested Atlantic Appliance & Hardware on Kerr if I wanted to consider a higher quality lock. He told me to call once I had the hardware and set up an installation appointment with him. My wife and I purchased the hardware that night. The next morning (Friday) I called to set up the appointment and spoke with Glenn Long. Glenn said he could do the installation that afternoon and we arranged for him to call me with 30 minutes notice so I could meet him at the house. He called around 11:30 and I met him at the house at noon. The installation took about two hours, including one trip Glenn needed to make to pick up a different tool (one of our doors was a little unique and he preferred to use the correct tool rather than try to make do with the one he had). Glenn was very professional and vacuumed up after himself inside the doorways. Upon finishing and presenting me the invoice he told me he nicked the paint on the front door and was giving us a discount on the price to compensate. He showed me the nicks and they were very minor, and the small discount he gave us was very appropriate. He then made us two duplicate keys at no additional cost. I would definitely use Island Lock & Key again and would happily recommend them.

Scott, the owner of Island Lock and Key and his assistant Glenn came to my home Saturday morning, August 2nd and installed an electronic deadbolt on my front door. I also had them re-key the remainder of the door locks in my home and make additional keys. They were both very professional and friendly. The day of my appointment, Scott called to give me an estimated time of arrival. Overall, I was very satisfied with the work and would definitely recommend them.

I had a guest at our CB condo call about the entry door lock not working properly. I emailed Scott after hours expecting a response the following day. Scott called that evening and scheduled a time for the following day. I could not be more pleased with his service and responsiveness. Top notch service......he is now in my contacts for any future needs!! Highly recommend.

My husband arrived at our beach home to find that it had been robbed. He called at 6:00pm and they were there within an 1 1/2 hours. They re-keyed all the locks on our home plus they made several sets of keys for us right there on the spot! They were very nice to work with during such a difficult time! It would have been a long night if Scott had not been there for us to make our home more secure!

He answered the phone as soon as I called to inquire! He was courteous and on time at my home and he works on Sat.!! He is professional and did great work. I would call him again.

Island Lock And Key knew exactly what we wanted, was able to meet with us right away and replaced the lock with no problems. Very efficient and friendly.

Re-keyed 8 locks (front & back of lock count as 2) as we recently bought the house. Two of the locks were re-keyed incorrectly, but came back and corrected the problem. Locks were old Schlage type that were difficult. Did a good job.

Everything was great. I contacted the top rated locksmiths on Angies list for a quote. Island was the only one who responded back promptly with the quote I asked for. Another company responded with questions ie: Is the door wood or metal? Most did not respond at all. Island showed up on time, and cleaned up after they where done. I am completely satisfied.

Made appointment for next day, showed up on time, worked quickly and courteously and charged about half what the locksmith we used when we bought the house charged. Would definitely use again.

Scott Cheatham was the ONLY one out of 8 locksmiths, advertising EMERGENCY service, that answered my call. WOOHOO for Scott!!! Not only did he answer the call personally but said that he would be there in approximately 20 minutes. It was a huge relief to see Scott pull in my driveway 20 minutes later! Now that is customer service and that is why I sat down and wrote this before it slipped my mind. This guy rocks!
