 + -1 moreIt took 3 weeks for them to replace the keyboard. They were supposed to call when it was done. today was the 3rd week. I took the trip to the Bestbuy and asked about when it would be done. It turns out it was there and had been for a few days. When I asked why I was not called he gave me my old phone number. Flat out lying. The correct number is on the service invoice. Three weeks to fix a computer these day is totaly unacceptable.The service was done under an extended contract we took when purching the machine. For the price of that contract I could probably have had this fixed localy and much quicker.I would defininatly NOT recommend buying an extended service contract from this group.
Description of Work: I brought my laptop in for service on 3/6. Keyboard problem.

 + 1 moreDo look in the store for the "brightest bulb" working. Do ask many questions and be knowledgeable about your topic of interest. Do allow the store person to finish their discussions with you. Do not be general, be specific.
Description of Work: Installed new TV. Also took my laptops in for service and all went very well

 + -1 moreFrustration followed by obstinence. Don't expect to be approached by helpful staff; do expect to be ignored. Know what you want before you get there.
Description of Work: I was virtually ignored by the sales staff, as if they couldn't care less about my business. The trouble is, Best Buy is the only legit seller of electronics in this small town and they act like it. It wasn't until my 3rd trip to the store that I got any satisfaction or assistance. To their credit, though, the delivery and pickup end of the operation (once the sale had been made) was prompt and professional. But don't go into this store expecting any of your questions or curiosity to be answered. Make sure you do your research before you get there because the staff wasn't helpful.

Description of Work: I brought in my desktop computer to have it diagnosed for what I suspected was a failing hard drive. The Geek Squad process at Best Buy is to have customers purchase a 12 month service membership for about $200. That is the only way they will take in a unit for diagnosis. I did that. In a week I got the computer back and it behaved exactly as it had before. They did indicate that they had removed many viruses. I told them that the objective was to make sure the problem was fixed, and that it was not. Knowledgable friends have told me that diagnosing a failing hard drive is not difficult. I lost confidence in BBs ability to fix my unit, and asked the manager to refund my service contract payment. He would not do so. I currently have disputed their charge with my credit card company. That dispute is still in progress.

 + 1 moreThe Geek Squad came out ahead of time. They were very nice. We had trouble getting the cable fixed, and they did it for us. They did a beautiful job in every respect.
Description of Work: We used Best Buy to install a TV set. They also showed us how to work it.
