+ -1 moreADT has failed to deliver adequate customer service on my home alarm system after several attempts. Help line calls have been routed to three+ people in attempts to solve a recurring problem. I would not use them again.

Description of Work: They charge you $105 to schedule an appointment so I could get a quote on security services for my new home. They didn't want to give me a quote they wanted to install right then and there. |

Description of Work: I wanted to contract for an alarm system in my new home. I called ADT security for an estimate. The man I talked to on the phone was arrogant and demeaning. Eventhough I had a security system in place, he would not consider using any part of it. He insisted I buy a whole new system and wanted to charge me $10/month more for monitoring it. When I pointed out to him that I was a longtime customer of ADT in my former home & that his estimate was high; he snapped at me: "You get what you pay for!" I contacted a local company PORT CITY SOUND & SECURITY. The very nice young man recommended updating my control panel; but used 5 motion detectors & most of the contacts I had. They charged me $10 less for monitoring per month and I have been very pleased! I would use Port City Sound & Security again!

+ -1 moreI have not had a problem with them. They are located 45 minutes away, so sometimes their schedules don't really gel up with mine or my wife's. They do have some times that they have to swing by. They are professional and I have never had a problem with any of their folks. They are pretty cut and dry when they come in. They tell us where the future problem might be with the alarm. If it doesn't get corrected then they will come out and correct it. It is not painful to pay. When they come they will walk around and look at all the areas and if their is a problem spot they will show you. If they are late it is only about 10 minutes and they will call if they are running late.
Description of Work: ADT is our alarm service provider.
