Work in Wilmington area. I am a mobile locksmith. Licensed from the state of North Carolina through the NC Locksmith Board #1021. Licensed, Bonded, and Insured. I am a one man show, so I feel I can give more personal attention to your needs of the security of your home, business, or automotive Some people want to sell you items but I recommend what I see from my experience. If I cannot do the work I can always recommend someone who can usually do the work for you. I did not come a family of locksmiths so I attended the Arizona School of Locksmithing in Phoenix, AZ (http://www.azschooloflocksmithing.org/ ). It was a real life, hands on school with classwork time. However locksmiths do not just pop-up over night, its experience and knowledge. Its makes the difference between a parts changer to someone who can see past the issue you are having. Chris Adams arrived later than he said he would. While at our house he went about "re-keying" deadbolts and doorknobs on our front and back doors as well as those to a storage closet. We asked him if he would come and put a lock on a cabinet for us and he said he would have to come back, which was fine with us. He gave us duplicate keys for the doors, my fiance paid him and he left. As we started trying to use our keys, it came to our attention that my fiance's key didn't work at all and that my key only worked for the front doorknob. The back door latch gets stuck inside the door all of the time and the deadbolt sometimes doesn't lock into it's slot. Irritated that we were down to one key at this point, we asked him to return and fix what we thought he had initially done. When we came back to our beach house the following week we found the cabinet that we wanted a lock on, was latched and locked but there was no key to open it. After "fixing" the locks, supposedly, my fiance never received a working key. My fiance called and asked him where the key to the cabinet was and he made up some lame excuse that he didn't want to just leave it. He said he'd put it in the mail so we would have it the following week. The following week came and went and when we checked our mail at the beach house there was no mail from him. Extremely frustrated at this point from not being able to access our cupboard for over a week, my fiance called Chris up and demanded that he give us the key to get into our cupboard. My fiance was angry and said that this was unacceptable and unprofessional. At that point Chris proceeded to yell and swear at him. My fiance responded in kind, astounded at the lack of professionalism and customer service. When told that we wanted the key that weekend, he again refused and said he would put the key in the mail. As a parting jab before he hung up on my fiance for the 4th or 5th time, he said he'd be sure to address the envelope to "A******". Wow. I was shocked. At this point I do not have a lot of confidence we will ever receive our key. We will likely have to hire another locksmith to "break into" our cupboard. I would never hire Chris Adams from Adams Locksmith and Services LLC. Dealing with him has been a truly horrendous experience! ****UPDATE****IT GETS WORSE! So, the original service date was 08/24/2012. We were charged $166.00. According to Chris, he was going to "put the keys in the mail." We did receive the envelope on 09/14/2012. However, it did not occur to him to put the keys in a mailer. He simply put them in a regular envelope with nothing else inside. Needless to say, the envelope was caught in the postal sorting machine, torn, and arrived to us in a "we're sorry your letter is damaged" envelope from the US Postal Service. Yet again, we had no keys!!! My fiance finally got Chris to come to our house and open our cabinet and give us keys on 09/19/2012. For this horrendous service he charged us an additional $339.48!! I want to know for what????!!!! My fiance paid the bill. I'm furious. I have now paid essentially $500 for re-keying 3 doors that didn't work the first time. An additional service call to fix his shoddy work the first time, putting a lock on a kitchen cupboard, being locked out of that cupboard for close to a month, and another service call to give us keys to the cupboard he should have left in the first place. Not only was he totally unprofessional, but now I feel as if I've been "robbed" as well. I have never had such a bad experience with a contracted service worker before in my life!!! I hope I never do again!
Description of Work: This locksmith, Chris Adams, was hired by my fiance to re-key some doors on a house we had just purchased. While he was there, we also asked him to put a lock on a cupboard for us where we keep a couple bottles of liquor.

Response from Adams Locksmith & Services
This is type woman and fiancee that want something for nothing. I never meet the woman but implies I am a crook. I take this very personal. I always do the work before getting paid and he agreed on the price. She would never tell you came out there 3 other times to fix other issues that were not pertaining to lock and key cylinder. I have SMS screen captures, Voicemails, and invoices. She made a complaint to the BBB and after an investigation the BBB sided with me.
