Jeff was quick and efficient. He was able to come out when needed and provided and extremely thorough report for our prospective home purchase. Buying the home from a great distance is challenging, and having a very detailed and organized report gave us so much peace of mind and it really helped us identify points we would not have been able to uncover ourselves. I was very pleased with Jeff's work. I spent time researching the best home inspector in town and feel confident that I got him. Like other reviews said he completed the inspection and sent a thorough report no more than 48 hours later. Took a significant amount of time after 5 pm discussing the issues with me and my fiance and showing us plenty of pictures. He let us know the things he was most concerned about and was very knowledgeable on every topic we asked him. My favorite thing was that he let me know which areas he wished he could've checked out better. Certain things I asked him about he could not fully access strictly from tight spaces or lack of visibility and as opposed to avoiding the questions or glossing over them he let me know straight up. Good guy and great work. Would definitely recommend.

This is the second time we used Jeff Terry for our home inspection. On the first home he inspected he found many issues that led us to not go ahead with the transaction. The Sellers were not truthful in their disclosure and we were real glad we hired Jeff who pointed out these issues a common person would not be able to pick up on. Although we were disappointed we feel we made the right choice. Jeff just performed an inspection on our future new home and as expected found some issues that can be dealt with between us and the sellers. He is a true professional and takes the time to explain everything he found during the inspection and what needed to be done to remediate them. I would highly recommend him to anyone purchasing a home.

I researched home inspectors thoroughly before I selected Jeff with Above Par. I can say without hesitation that I made the right choice. Jeff was very professional from the first email throughout the whole process. He arrived early and went over the property with a fine tooth comb. He showed us dozens of photos and explained the things he found in terms we could understand. His first class report was ready the next evening. Jeff, from Above Par Home Inspection, didn't miss a beat, even with cold rainy weather during our home inspection. He arrived at the time he had set the appointment and explained in detail what he would be doing. He had sent emails prior to the date of the appointment reviewing what would be done and pricing. He spent several hours inside and outside my home detailing with photos and notes areas needing repair or replacement. He is very detail oriented and can explain in laymen's terms issues needing attention. He was available the few times I called him and answered the phone, not even having to leave a voicemail. Jeff of Above Par Home Inspection performed an extremely through inspection of a new construction home we were very interested in purchasing. Most people would state that a new construction buyer inspection is not required, please get one done. This highly experienced professional spent several hours going through the house, crawl space to the roof, many issues were found, some major. The report was delivered quickly and with a great level of detail, including photographs of the issues or potential problems. Jeff Terry did a very thorough and comprehensive home inspection on a house we were considering purchasing. His fee was reasonable considering the time and effort that went into the inspection. My wife and I were present during the process and were impressed with how methodical he was. He completely inspected and tested all home systems. He took all the time necessary to evaluate the house--roof to crawl space. Where issues of concern were found Jeff took many photographs and included these in his report along with recommendations for solutions. The finished report was available in 24 hrs. as promised. Being a knowledgeable DIY'er for many years I would highly recommend Jeff to anyone considering a home purchase and would call on him again should the need arise. Very impressive!

Jeff was very professional, and did an outstanding job!. The price was very reasonable for the insane amount of work he put into our home inspection. He spent hours going through our new prospective home. We thought the home was perfect and would not need any work! Turns out we were so wrong, there were so many flaws hidden beneath the walls and under the floors, and we are so thankful that Jeff was there to discover them for us. He was so great to deal with, and spent so much time sorting through our prospective home, we knew by the time he was done if anything was wrong we would know. He even put together a complete portfolio of everything in the home that we needed to be concerned with, which not only contained pictures with highlighted areas of repairs but also a quick synapses at the end of all the needed repairs throughout the report, which made it really easy to go through with the sellers. We really appreciated his services because he didn't just highlight what he thought was important, he told us everything that was wrong whether or not he would have considered it high importance himself. Jeff was very professional and easy to work with. We actually met Jeff at an open house when we first moved to Wilmington. Jeff is not only a home inspector, but also an agent. As you can imagine, he was extremely knowledgeable yet professional in keeping with what he was able to tell us as far as the home inspection went. He was prompt and stuck to the agreed upon timelines. His attention to detail and care while performing the inspection was top notch.

Jeff was referred to us by another home inspector with great online reviews, but was booked 10 days out. While we were initially concerned about lack of review history, I called Jeff for an interview. After speaking to Jeff I understood why the other inspector was comfortable referring him; Jeff has a long history as a contractor and is an experienced real estate broker, he regularly works with other home inspectors and teaches a home inspection class for local real estate brokers. Jeff arrived on time and asked for 3 hours alone with the house while we measured for furniture and picked paint colors, during this time he disappeared into the crawl space for almost an hour and the attic for 20 minutes on a hot day. When we returned from lunch, Jeff was ready to walk through the entire home and explain both the positive and negative aspects. Jeff assured us that note taking was not necessary, and that everything would be in the report with pictures. I was surprised at how well we understood the home when the tour was over, given that neither of us are D.I.Y. types. When the report arrived late the same evening it addressed every issue with clear explanations and photos. We asked Jeff if he still did repairs, he explained that he was retired from hands-on construction and ethically inspectors should not repair homes they inspect. Jeff was available for follow up calls and even stopped by after we closed. While I'm sure the initial inspector would have done a good job, we are confident that Jeff was the right inspector for us. This was our real estate broker's first time working with Jeff, he had only good things to say has added Jeff to his list of preferred providers.
