+ 0 moreTerrible! Such a smooth talker. We had to resort to a lawsuit. He has our property in his name (as collateral) & pretends to have finished the house. We have our life savings invested & the house sits empty for almost two years. He promised to finish by June 2005 but has yet to finish. The detail work is awful - he did not sand or caulk satisfactorily before painting. Stone, stucco & drive are cracking, drive is sloped toward house, drainage does not meet code. He marked items off contract and claimed that we agreed. He will not deduct these items from contract. Complained when he had to do some things in the contract, like flooring attic & installing shelves. Lots of inferior workmanship. He will not pay some of the subs and they have leins on the house. It has been & still is a nightmare. Please do not use this contractor. He has been sued several times in the past. We should have checked him out more thorough before hiring him. Don't let our mistakes be yours.
Description of Work: Built a stucco house with stone steps, landing & columns, on a lot owned by us. This included a sloped concrete drive that was contracted to be stamped concrete or cobble-stone (used poured concrete instead, which was not poured with the proper foundation & is cracking). He charged much more than the contract read & did many unjustifiable "change orders" that were not change orders but were included in contract. Made many promises until we signed the contract but did not follow thru. We signed the contract in March 2005. He promised that we would be in by June 2005. We are still not in the house and do not know when we will be. His lawyer will not return calls to our lawyer.
