They did an amazing job patching our drywall, so much so that there was absolutely no sanding needed and when painted over you could not tell there was ever a problem - flawless! The door turned out great - that was tough! By far, the best patch job(s) ever! The two story foyer painting job was good - I'm a painter (without a tall ladder) and super picky. Pricing was fabulous and a great value! They were punctual, job was completed as promised, prompt in response and very professional! I would absolutely use them again!
Description of Work: Patched drywall and wood door, also painted two story foyer.

He came to our house and measured everything and made the cabinet and then returned to install it. I like the fact that he cut the vertical edges to fit flush to the wall so I didn't need molding on the edge to cover the irregularities in the sheetrock. Sweet job!
Description of Work: David built this corner cabinet to match our other cabinet and did a beautiful job.
From his prompt and knowledgeable response to my initial request for a quote, all the way up to the set-up of the second perfuming station/organ, David's expertise and professionalism shone through. He analyzed metric measurements on a somewhat imprecise dimensional diagram from a French perfumery, asked me insightful questions, and did a template mockup to ensure what he was planning to deliver would meet the needs of my business. He even sense-checked his design by requesting a few of the bottles that would be stored on it. The units he delivered are not only solid and functional but beautifully executed. He even took into consideration such fine details as the edge feeling comfortable when leaning up against it and the need for occasional repositioning or even transporting of the units, showing me how to safely take them apart and put them back together. I have no hesitation in recommending Curtis Remodeling and Cabinetwork for any carpentry work. David's work is precise, thorough, reasonably priced, and on-schedule. He's been a pleasure to work with and I look forward to having him build more perfumer's organs for me when my business expands!
Description of Work: David custom-built two highly specialized, spill-resistant work desks known as "perfumer's organs" for my perfume creation shop.

Everything is going well. David has been doing work for us for about 3 months. He is very professional, kind, neat, and honest. Everyday he cleans up after himself. All his work is suburb. You can not go wrong with hiring David.
Description of Work: David has done many things for us and still continues to do so. Once we saw how creative, talented, and honest he is, we knew we had a keeper. David has to date made custom built in in my breakfast room. He made custom maple cabinets to match my current cabinets. The match is amazing. He took so much care in making sure that everything was perfect. We have now purchased another house and he is remolding the whole house.

David Curtis did an excellent job in all phases of his work. This work was completed at Sovereign Grace Church, Apex, NC. David was responsible for full custom oak trim out of our 600 seat auditorium including stage, stairs, sound booth, and acoustical panels. In addition he trimmed out the lobby, book store (including cabinets and shelves), and one office (including 20 feet of custom bookcases). The woodwork is exceptional. Almost six years later it looks like it did the day he did the work - excellent. David Curtis is a true craftsman who I would gladly hire for our next project.
Description of Work: Custom built cabinets, doors, bookshelves. Custom trim at stage front and stairs, trim out around skylights, acoustical panels, baseboard, etc....

I knew he caught my vision when he created new drawing to include the supports and calculate the cost, but when he came in with the first big pieces to assemble in the room- I was amazed! The loft was beautifully stained and crafted with strong solid wood. Everyone's expressions were the same, WOW! One of things I valued most was that he heard what I wanted and really made it work. This is no college dorm loft! This is a beautiful piece of wood furniture that happens to be supported 8 feet off the ground. He trellised or angled the supports so that the only posts to come into the center floor space of the room were the 2 notch crafted ladders. Another thing that was really great was that he did almost all the construction at his workshop and then put the pieces to the puzzle together in the room already stained and everything. This meant there was absolutely no clean up or mess cluttering my house during the process and no smell of stain. David is a very skilled craftsman who takes great pride in what he does. There were no corners cut and yet he was still able to keep the costs very reasonable. I would recommend him for any wood working project no matter if it is a conventional piece or something you have dreamed up!! He will exceed your expectations!
Description of Work: Built a triple loft for a medium size boys bedroom with high ceilings. The loft was above the door/window frames and went down three walls with platforms and bookshelves in 2 corners. I dreamed up the design and he engineered and built it to withstand the rough treatment of 3 growing boys, not take up much floor space, and give plenty of head room.

We employed David Curtis to remodel our living and dining room ceiling and love it! It was flat with the popcorn spray on it like the rest of the house. We wanted it changed to a cathedral ceiling with a little bit of a flat space at the top. He was very professional in his workmanship and his input for details was invaluable. Every day he was prompt and cleaned up before he left. I was very picky about the finish on the sheetrock since I wanted a smooth finish and everything to be straight. He exceeded my expectations. I like the job he did on the two piece crown molding and the painting was a good job as well. The architect saw the framing cuts and was impressed with David's precision which would not be a surprise knowing that David is also a fine custom cabinet maker! David was very amiable toward us and the town inspectors as we worked through the routine inspections that were required. We give him an A+ for service and skill.
