My elderly widowed mother ask for an estimate from Mr. Overman. She had another contractor scheduled for 2 days later. She initially explained to him that all she wanted was a picket fence to keep her 10 lb Yorkie in and safe to play. She said he was so pushy and wouldn't go away, basically selling her on needing her business, until she reluctantly agreed. He wrote up a generic contractor invoice, with no business label, simply wrote in his first name and business name. for 5 thousand dollars he would place a white picket fence, dog electric fence at the base (was not asked for initially), double gate, single gate, pour a small amount of concrete and wrap her front and back doors with vinyl. He wanted half the money initially, she declined and he asked if he brought the fence and put in her on land if she would then give him half. She reluctantly agreed and did. Then his crew shows up for a few days and places a white picket fence, but tapers it down to where it is 6 plus inches off the ground all down the sides. Then Mr. Overman tells my mother that he will be using left over fencing material to make her gates. She told him that they were too flimsy and wobbly and wouldn't work. He said this was CHEAPER, not to my mom, but for him to pocket additional money. Mr. Overman also stated to my mother that the concrete she wanted around her little bit of patio she has, would need to be mixed with Quikcrete since it was CHEAPER than hiring a concrete mixing truck. Therefore the concrete doesn't match the initial patio, it is rough, cracked in one week, was brushed with a broom and is not smooth at all, has no expansion joints, doesn't reach the fence in the corner and just looks horrible. My mother thought that the posts On 5/1/15 he came to mom and said he needed to pay his crew could she pay him the remainder, although the work was no where close to being completed. Mom naively paid him. On that day he explained to her that the electric fence he was referring to was a Horse Electric fence to keep in a 2 ton animal not a 10 lb animal, that is above the ground several inches up on the fence. My mom told him that would kill her little dog and was not what they discussed or what she wanted for the dog. Once again he stated its CHEAPER. She also has great grandchildren, neighbors and their children that reach over the fence to visit this little dog. Why in the world would anyone want an electrical fence which could shock a horse shocking everyone that touches it. He then tells my mother if she wants an electric fence for dogs that would cost her an additional 6-7 hundred dollars, although this was on the contract. So at this point the fence is useless for this little dog to even go outside and it's close to a month later, she's told him the gates should be actual gates that are made for this style of fence, he hasn't wrapped either door, the concrete looks horrible and still has the boarding around the edges that weren't even removed from his hand made form and they aren't in agreement in this electric fence that is at least needed in order to use the picket fence at all in order for the little dog to leave the house. Until the fence is lowered to the ground or the doggy electric fence is put in place along with the correct gates, all of this money and aggravation have been in vain, since the dog can't go out safely. My mother also thought for sure that they would cement the posts for the fence securely in the ground, we now realize that a child could probably knock them down, without effort they wobble. Also during this time, they borrowed her wheel barrel without asking to mix cement, she went out and they were already mixing it, she asked they clean it and put it back. They left it dirty and flattened the tired and didn't tell her or repair it! They also were mixing concrete and blew one of her outlets, causing her to lose electricity in her garage where she has a freezer with the majority of her frozen goods, they didn't attempt to fix it or find the problem. Therefore all of her food was lost in the freezer. So 5/4/15 I attempted to call Mr. Overman on my mothers behalf to get this settled. Not to mention every time he spoke with her he was upsetting her horribly. Not to mention this home is actually in my name and he has placed fencing on it without knowing if I was in agreement. He called me an A _ _ hole and hung up on me within minutes. He called me back and proceeded to call me a F _ _ _ Face and was loud and obnoxious and wouldn't listen to anything I tried to say to him. Keep in mind this was the first time we had ever spoken. I quickly realized that he was not a reasonable person. He hasn't called either of us to say when/if he will be returning to complete this job or to discuss how he plans to complete it to the original agreement specs and in a safe manner for the dog and to my mothers satisfaction. Since this time I have learned that he has numerous complaints with the BBB, along with an F rating. Along with Yelp complaints that he hasn't satisfied with an apartment complex and was charged with "Engaging in the business of electrical contracting without a license" in 8/14.I have one thing to say, Buyer Beware. If this gentleman or any one associated with him comes to your home, RUN! And watch out for your parents, they are being preyed upon!!
Description of Work: Gave a high estimate to my elderly widowed mother on 4/17 with a written contract stating he would place a white picket fence, an electric fence at the base of the picket fence, one double gate, one single gate, pour some concrete and wrap her front and back door with vinyl. My mother called him to simply get a fence for her 10 lb Yorkie to be able to remain safe and go outside the home to play. He talked my mother into half the money initially, then returned 5/1/15 and asked her for the remainder of the payment, although he hadn't completed the fence, no underground dog fence, no gates, concrete poorly done and not completed. My elderly naïve mother paid him since he said he needed the money to pay his guys. He has not completed the work, hung up on me when I attempted to resolve. Called me vulgar names and hasn't returned!

We had to pay someone else to come in and re do the work that he did. The pipes were leaking. We had to replace the kitchen floor and my vanity due to the water leaks. They got paint all over my furniture and bedding. They painted over the receptacles. He is neither licensed nor insured. We would not get a penny back from him.
Description of Work: We hired them to paint, widen the bathroom doors and replace the kitchen flooring. They did some plumbing for us throughout the home.
