Good Experience

Called to inquire about their work but never used them.

My husband and I found Mr. Hargrove's name and number on Angie's list, and decided to give him a call for an estimate. It was raining at the time, so it took him a few days to come over. When the weather finally permitted, he and his wife came over to look at the roof. A few days later, we had an estimate, and decided to go ahead. A date was set, and he and his partner, came over to get the check for the materials. They started working the next day. The team was very professional and even moved their garbage pile so our dog wouldn't get into it. They estimated it would take two days to complete the job, and even late to keep that promise.

Contractor did not contact us when promised. Contractor too far away from my city.

After Irene hit we had roof, vinyl, window & indoor damage. I had 4 contractors give me estimates. We chose Hargrove's Home Improvements. During the initial visit for the estimate, I had questions about our window trim that had been damaged. James Hargrove got on the phone & got answers. We did not need our windows replaced as we had been previously told. Because of a new leak in our kitchen because of the roof, James let me know that we could get the work done sooner than expected. I was thrilled to hear that. James helped me choose the color for my new roof, which I love. The work began on Monday morning and was finished on Tuesday afternoon. The crew was respectful of my property and myself. James Hargrove kept me informed throughout the process. Hargrove's Home Improvements were professional and did a great job. James also told me the best way to take care of my indoor damage since we are doing that ourselves later. If I ever need work done again, I will call James Hargrove.

Hargrove Home Improvement showed up exactly when promised and got to work right away. The old roof was stripped off down to the bare wood and new felt and shingles were installed. The job was completed in just over 2 days, including an excellent job of clean up. We also had some interior damage to a ceiling that James and Romey took care of on the following Saturday for a very reasonable price. The roof looks fantastic, we are very happy with the outcome. We will not hesitate to use Hargrove Home Improvement for any repair or remodeling in the future.

Overall, the experience has been okay. He needed a deposit of $4500. I paid him, and there were no problems. He finished it the day before a storm. He did a fine job. He was the most expensive out of the estimates that I had received, but he was very professional and respectful. A tree fell on my house during a storm, so that part has to be re-done. A tarp was placed where the tree fell, after it was removed. However, he hasn't been as responsive. I have wanted to use him again for a commercial building. I called him on Friday, and I asked him if he could take a look at that building. He told me he’d stop by that afternoon, he needed to rent a ladder. I didn’t hear from him, so Monday I called him. He told me he has not look at the roof yet, since he has not had time.

This job was scheduled to start on Monday August 29th. Hurricane Irene made landfall on Saturday August 27th. Because of the hurricane I lost power. The owners of Hargrove's Home Improvement called me on the Sunday to check to see if I had power, and also asked if I needed help with anything.. He informed me that he had also lost all power, but offered to come out and put tarps on the roof where it was leaking.. On Tuesday he called again to see if I had power. I did not have power, he then told me they were going to get generators and be there on Wednesday to do the roof They were there the next day (Wednesday) with the Generators. The job was completed in 2 days with clean up.. This is an excellent company to work with..

James Hargrove was friendly, on time and his team did a good job.

They did exactly what they said they were going to do. Their price was fair. I have no complaints about them at all.

Work occurred over two weekends and was done to my complete satisfaction. The house is 100 years old and required a lot of customized work. The Hargrove's had the skill to do the work. I am very pleased with the overall experience.
