Description of Work: Paid the owner, Rufus a deposit to install some hardwood floors. He gave me several excuses - family and medical issues(maybe true..maybe not)...why he couldn't start the work. I waited patiently for several weeks with no work being completed..and hardly any communication of when it would occur....until I finally asked for my deposit to be returned. He promised to do so, but never did. I ended up having to take him to small claims which I won a judgement against him, but to date have not been able to collect. He seemed knowledgeable when he came to my house to price the job. His work for others may be good..frankly I have no opinion on his quality as he never did the work. Since he made no attempt to payback the money I'm due, I can't consider him trustworthy. If you decide to use him - 1)have him do the job 1st, 2)then pay him when he's done once you're 100% satisfied. Give him a deposit at your own risk.

+ -1 moreThe floor refinishing part was fine--problem was that no one bothered to mask the painted quarter round--and stain was slung all over it. And this house was being shown for sale! Rufus promised repeatedly that "his painters" would go back to fix their mess, but no one ever showed. Eventually, my Realtor and his wife wound up painting the quarter round in order to get a sale completed. What complete lack of professionalism! Unfortunately, I had already paid in full before anyone realized what a shoddy job had been done. Use these people at your own risk!
Description of Work: Sanded, refinished, and polyurethaned hardwoods that had cupped on the first floor.
