Contracted with Lowe's to install replacement hot water heater. They subcontracted with Sonny at S&D Plumbing and Remodeling. Hot water heater was installed but did not work. Realized the hot water heater did not work on Saturday morning at 0800 on Sept 20, 2008. Contacted Lowe's. They contacted Sonny at S&D Plumbing. Lowe's (Sam) in Installation Sales told me that if Sonny at S&D Plumbing did not contact me by 1 pm. to call them back. He did not contact me. I finally got the Store Manager (Phillip) involved. Sonny told Phillip that the old hot water heater did not have power to it. Totally untrue. This part is important. Finally, after hours on the phone with Lowe's, Sonny and the Lowe's Manager came at 4 Pm on Sunday, September 21 to look at the unit. The problem was a wire that the installation team (S&D Plumbing) had broken when they were installing. The unit never did work. They tried to say it was an electrical issue on my end and that the old unit did not have power to it. Totally untrue and unethical. Beware contracting with Lowe's for appliance installs and remodeling. Make sure you find out who is doing the work and check Angie's List! Finally, Lowe's had to take an additional 83 dollars off the bill that was not legitimate. Would not have happened if I had not taken a critical look at the bill. In addition, they did not clean up and left a mess. Pix included.
