Honeycutt Roofing

I left a message on Sunday night, got a return call the next day on Monday morning. He came by that day, and gave an extremely good estimate (meaning a very low cost) much to our surprise. The best part was, he said he could do the work that day. He was done in a couple of hours and did exactly what needed to be done. Now this is how I like to do business. He will be my first call for any roofing needs.

Its been a very rainy spring and summer and all the roofers were backed up with work. I had made apts with two other roofers and followed up with them but they never showed. One of them I had used before to install gutters and did a good job. Obviously no indication of reliability. We had a leak around our chimney that done some damage to the ceiling. Had a Neighbor tell me they used Stanley who was located in Weaverville, where we live. Gave Stanley a call on a Friday. He was friendly and honest telling me they were staked upped and it would be two wks before he could do the work. I told him OK come give me a quote. He asked if he could call me Tues when he was coming back from a job to stop and do the bid. He called me Tues AM and asked if noon would work. He and Larry showed up did the inspection and gave me a quote of $400. He said it may be two wks before he could get back but would call with exact dates. Long story short... it continued to rain everyday. On July 1, about 9 days later Stanley called and apologized for the weather and asked if they could work July 4th on my roof beause there might be a break in the weather... no such luck for them or me. Stanley called me on July 3rd and said with the projected weather (rain) could he shoot for Saturday at 7:30 am. It looked like a break in the weather and he wanted to get a couple of repairs out of the way. Saturday morning Larry showed up with four guys at 7:30am. They worked for 3 hrs with hit an miss sprinkles but managed to get the work done. Larry explained that there was some edge caulking on the flashing that need dryer weather to hold but that it was sealed well and they would return to make the sure the edge seams were done. The work was fast and they were very professional. The new flashing is working well and looks good. Still need them to follow up on the edges. I would recommend them to anyone. Honest, fair price, great clean up and good customer contact which you dont get from many builders, roofers, plumbers or electricians.

They were to arrive between 8:30 and 9 AM. They were on time. Larry introduced himself and his helper Francisco. I showed him the problem and they immediately went to work to make the repair. After they were done they inspected the rest of the roof to see if there were any other problems. They worked neatly and efficiently and were done by 9 AM. Larry took the time to show me what the problem was that caused the failure. He then identified the manufacturer and color of the shingles and suggested that in the future, if we have problems that we give that information to the roofer making the repair so they can bring the proper shingles with them. Larry was obviously experienced and knowledgeable. I watched Francisco make the repairs and he was careful and thorough. I highly recommend them and will call them first for my roofing needs.

I found Stanley Honeycutt to be honest and forthcoming throughout the process of having the new roof put on, from the first day when he came to do the estimate and throughout the actual work in progress. He and his men were prompt and efficient and he kept me apprised of what was going on so there were no sudden surprises. They cleaned up so thoroughly when they were done that I couldn't even tell that they'd been here. It was a very satisfactory experience and I would recommend them to anyone needing roofing work. The price may seem steep to some, but I had several estimates and they were all in same ball park, even a little higher. I have a large, older ranch house with a quite a bit of roof area, and also the price included the removal of two layers of old tiles, and the roof over a large porch had significant damage to the wood under the tiles from all of the heavy rain we have had this year. I am very pleased with the work they did.

Very responsive to my call which they returned the same morning I called and were out to fix the problem at 8:00 the next morning.

Stanley was very prompt for our appointment. He looked at the problem, gave me an estimate and a time for fixing the problems. HE was great. VERY honest and most interested in making sure he's done the work right and to the customer's satisfaction. At one point we called out 5 roofers to evaluate our roof... could it be repaired? did it need to be replaced? if it needed to be replaced, how much would it cost. 3 of the roofers didn't even look at the existing roof and gave us estimates between $13,000 and $26,000 ro replace the roof with architectural shingles. One said that the roof was good but needed extensive repairs costing into the high thousands. Stanley fixed the roof for less than $500 and told me not to pay him until a very hard rain had proved that the repairs were working. Talk about honesty! The repairs were good and we were happy to pay him. He is the ONLY roofer we'll ever use again! He's a gem.

He came and gave me a quote that was resonable. He did the work on time and very well, cleaned up, and sent me a bill. About as good as it gets.

Got new roofing for a low-pitched addition on a newly purchased old house. Coming to an agreement on price and timing was easy. Work was quick and thorough.

These were the one contractor who actually climbed up on the roof to examine it before giving an estimate. Fair price, good materials, good attention to detail. Left the remainder shingles, ridge vents, and underlayment in case needed for future repairs. Did a magnetic sweep after the job to look for nails in the grass/garden beds around the house. Nice guys to deal with!

We were very pleased with the work. He was very honest and fast.

Because of several leaks, we originally had hired a different roofer who told us we needed a new roof. That roofer quoted us $5600 and asked for half up front so he could buy the shingles. He said he would get the shingles and could start the following weekend after he got the $2800. Three months, numerous phone calls and excuses later, we still had leaks on our ceiling and no roofer, so we cancelled and asked for our money back. Long story short.....10 months later with the help of an attorney, we finally got all the front money back. A week later, when H&B came to give us an estimate, they quickly found the source of the leaks and found patches done by the previous roofer that were done inproperly and repaired them for a reasonable $300, until they could return in warmer weather to replace the roof. They told us when they would start work, weather permitting, and they arrived at 7:30 am on that day and finished before we closed. No front money was ever requested. We were told to look the work over and someone would return in a day or two for payment. Great job !

My roof was damaged by a hail storm and started to leak. I found Stanley Honeycutt on Angie's List. He came out to the house right away and patched the leaks in the roof. The roof was old, so repairing shingles would not be feasible; a new roof was in order. Stanley helped me pick out the best roofing product for my house, and his prices were very fair. Stanley was always prompt in returning calls, scheduling appts, and coming to work. He was professional, friendly, trustworthy, and patient. The entire roof was replaced in one day, and the process was seamless, start to finish. Stanley Honeycutt and his partner stand behind their work. I was out of town when they did the installation, and Stanley insisted that I not pay a dime until I see the roof to ensure that I was satisfied first! And Honeycutt & Banks continue to stand behind their work: After installing the new roof, water was leaking into the house from another source: They checked and rechecked the seals on the roof, helped figure out where the water was leaking from (gutters), and referred me to another good contractor who could help fix the gutters and repair the walls. Honeycutt & Banks not only stand behind their work -- they truly care about their customers, which are two rare quality these days! I highly recommend this roofing company!

They were excellent. They were just wonderful in repairing the leak. They found where it was and what needed to be done. They were very polite and professional. I wish I would of used them to put my roof on a number of years ago. They were superb. I would definitely use them again if needed.

Mr. Honeycutt arrived on time and thoroughly assessed our roof. After looking over the roof, he determined that the roof had many years left in it but needed a few repairs which he did immediately. He could have very easily told me that we needed a new roof to the tune of 10s of thousands of dollars but instead simply fixed the problems and told us we had many years left in the roof.He guaranteed the work.This is not the first time we have used his services and in every instance was given every opportunity to charge us considerably more. In every case he found the source of the problem, promptly fixed the problem, instructed us to call him if the problem continued, and charged a very resonable price. I will continue to use him for two reasons: 1 he is very honest, and 2 because his work is very very good. I see very little reason to call anyone else except for my personal insistance on getting at least 3 estimates.

I am very satisfied with our experience with Honeycutt. It is nice to know that there are still people out there that will do the right and not try take advantage of a situation.

The workers were all very prompt. They were here within a week. The guys that came were all very courteous and answered all the questions when asked. They did a great job.

Showed up when they said they would. Kept yard clean of debris. Got paid in full after job was completed. Very professional. Little expensive but worth it. Would hire them again.

They are great. I found them on Angie's List. He was there when he said he would be. They picked up all of the nails. It was a good price.

Honeycutt roofing communicated well, did an excellent job on the roof, put the gutters back better than they were (until we can get new ones), cleaned up the worksite well. I was very pleased with their service and communication.

Our skylight was leaking very severely so he gave us a temporary solution until he came back and fixed it. They are always on time and clean up after themselves. This will be the third time we use them.

Honeycutt & Banks is the SINGLE BEST and MOST HONEST home improvement team I have ever had the privilege to hire. We had a complicated roof leak that caused a fair amount of internal damage, and Mr. Honeycutt and Mr. Banks worked tirelessly to fix it. They arrived quickly and when promised, gave us a free estimate of $175 (the least expensive of three bids), and came in under budget. What's more, the leak ended up being much more extensive and difficult to repair than any of the roofers had estimated, and Honeycutt and Banks returned on three separate occasions to make it right. They put in over 12 additional hours of labor and would not accept a single dollar more than their estimate. We tried to at least pay for their extra supplies, and they wouldn't take it a penny. That kind of old time honesty and hard work is hard to come by these days. I look forward to the opportunity to hire Honeycutt and Banks again.

Our basement rug (three floors below the chimney) was getting wet after each significant rain. Asked a basement specialist to look at it; they said it could be seepage from a poorly draining grade around that section of the basement. I fixed that myself but the problem still existed. I asked a roofer to look at it and they fixed some areas around the roof and chimney. That work fixed a small leak in a second floor ceiling but not the basement leak. Honeycutt & Banks found the problem (the seal around the two fireplace vents in the chimney were loose allowing water to drain down the inside of the outside wall onto the basement floor) and came back in just a few days when the weather conditions were appropriate to correct it. The basement is now dry.
