I am a 3rd generation carpenter with 26 years of experience. I specialize in interior , exterior trim and cabinet installs including custom built in place cabinets. reasonable rates and free estimates.
Andy called me back right away and we scheduled an appointment. He showed up right on time and gave me a very fair quote to do the work. We scheduled the work for two days later and he showed up on time. He did the work and it came out amazing, really amazing. He cleaned up and all we had to do was paint. The house is 100 years old and all the cuts would were going to be uneven. Andy made all the different cuts and made everything fit perfectly. Really amazing actually! Thank you Andy!!!!
Description of Work: I had put in some three skylights and the trim around the skylights was not included. I needed a carpenter to install the trim.

Andy was awesome and his rates were extremely fair! I was not onsite, but he called me with questions and preferences and sent me pictures to help my wife and me decide. If something did not seem right to Andy, he asked. Andy also went above and beyond by customizing the kitchen cabinetry and jacuzzi tub surround to make the installation right. I am going to Andy first with future projects.

Andy arrived on time with my cabinets which he had to pick up because the cabinet company was going to charge more than one hundred dollars for delivery. Andy was flexible enough to fit my project in within days of our conversation. He worked diligently to attach the cabinets to the wall so the countertop would be level when installed. He has all the tools and even if your job is small he brings everything he could use just in case your project needs a unique tool. He is comfortable with his clients and cabinetry. He attached a large undermount sink and fit the sink evenly across the cabinet base even though the whole house, floors and walls included are not level. The house is very old but Andy's experience made the new cabinets look neat and even. I was glad I did not attempt this three cabinet project as a do-it-yourself because there were so many edges that needed to be fine tuned to fit around the chimney and appliances. Andy is a cheerful person and very friendly.

Andrew came to our house to discuss the work we needed done, and promptly phoned with a price which we thought fair. When we had scheduling difficulties with our heating and plumbing contractor, he rescheduled his work with us to meet our needs. He and Hugh arrived promptly and did a very professional, meticulous kitchen and bathroom cabinet installation. When I wanted to make some changes to the original plan, Andrew cheerfully scheduled additional time and did what I needed for a fair additional cost.
Description of Work: Installed kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, bathroom counter, and new attic opening door.

Overall Andy did an outstanding job. Given the very high quality of his work we were surprised that his name wasn't already on Angie's List. He deserves to be on the list as a resource choice for others. We were homeowner manager's of the kitchen remodel project. The advice and recommendations Andy gave us during the course of the project were priceless. We had zero experience in kitchen remodeling. We made all the decisions in the process but, we were truly grateful for Andy's suggestions and guidance. From the very start of the project to the very end, Andy was highly organized, professional, and meticulous in his approach to the work. Given the age of the house/kitchen there were some challenges. However, there was never a time when Andy was confronted with a problem that he couldn't solve. He is tenacious and creative in finding a way to fix a problem , to do it correctly and make it work. We feel both fortunate and grateful that Andy was recommended to us. Andy gave us a time frame for completion which was approximately two weeks. He showed up every day on time and finished the job within the estimated time frame. He was always respectful of our home and the people in it. We felt ,that with Andy, we had the benefit of both an outstanding cabinet installer and master carpenter. We will definitely use his services in the future. Now that we've experienced his work we can't imagine calling anyone else.
Description of Work: The project was a tear out and remodel of a 1955 ranch house kitchen. Andy Schultz, did a truly outstanding job. Andy was on a list of three cabinet installer that we wanted to interview. He was the first person we interviewed. After our initial meeting we did not need to interview anyone else. He described how he would approach the project, the time frame for completion, advised us of issues that we might encounter due to the age of the kitchen and gave us a firm cost. This was the first time as homeowner's we tackled a project of this magnitude. We managed the project ourselves. We could not have done it without the experience, skills and advice of Andy Schultz. The project involved: the complete tear out of built in, custom installed, 3/4 inch plywood cabinets in 1955 ranch house kitchen : the tear out of existing soffit boards: tear out of kitchen sink : adding some additional floor tile and, the new installation of 22 base and upper cabinets, roll out drawers, all handles and countertops. The 1955 kitchen was installed using nails about every 2 inches. Andy meticulously pulled down each cabinet and removed all the nails, for safety and disposition of the material. He consistently kept the work area clean and cleaned up at the end of each day. As the new cabinets were installed he had to make adjustments, to trim, fit and position many of the cabinets due to the wall alignment. He's not only a great cabinet installer, he is a master carpenter. Everything he did fit perfectly. We were impressed with every aspect of his work. His skills as a carpenter were evident when he needed to cut a part of the back splash on the countertop to accommodate a retro kitchen exhaust fan. It was so perfectly finished that one would think it came this way from the factory. In addition to the above, we added to the cabinet install project ,the design and placement of a new vent pipe exhaust. Andy determined the best placement, cut each piece of metal, and ran the exhaust to the outside wall. It was a perfect job. The cost given for the project includes the initial estimate , the hood exhaust vent install, and some additional materials. If anyone is thinking about doing a kitchen remodel and you're searching for a highly skilled, highly organized ,experienced, honest person to do the work, we highly recommend calling Andy Schultz.
