Scott fairman it's a great guy

Scott was fantastic throughout our backyard remodeling project. When we first started our project Scott was the first contractor that we met with. We did not have a direction for what we wanted but only knew that we needed to update our backyard. His idea for our backyard was great and was the model that we used through the estimation process. After getting several other estimates we went with Scott because of our confidence in him and his fair price. Scott and his crew did a great job bringing our vision to life and did what it took to make it happen. Due to weather Scott even had to come back after the project was basically wrapped up to put the final touches on the project. We appreciated Scott and his crew’s attention to detail in not only renovating our patio and retaining wall but even ensuring that the grading and drainage was improved to alleviate any potential issues.

Had a communication problem with Scott Turf. Signed up and paid for the service. Put in a note that requested advance notification of service so I could water to loosen the soil to improve the aeration on 9/28. Emailed Scott Turf on 10/2 since I received no reply from them. He wrote back that the angies list system was messing up and that he would email me that evening as to when he would do the service. On 10/4 I sent an email as I had not received the promised communication. I received an email in return that it would be done the following day which it was. Did not have a chance to water the yard enough to soften up the clay so many of the plugs removed were very small due to the ground being so hard.

Scott did a nice job of helping improve my house lawn/landscape. He already does my weekly lawn care but i needed help to beautify a certain area on the side of my house. He planned it, had the vision and executed it very well. Did it all himself in one day. Wasn't an easy job, digging up odl rock and brick and softening and cleaning it up very well. Added nice soft touches and features and I felt it's a big improvement. Scott's pricing is fair and balanced and he follows up on what he says he will do. I would have him do more work around my house and lawn.

We used Scott Turf for 5 years. For most of that time, we were really pleased with their service. They maintained our lawn and managed our irrigation system. When we moved into a new house we had about 1/2 an acre that needed complete landscaping and we wanted to change out some of the builder landscaping in the front. The bid was for $15000+ and we were under the impression that it included the front and the back yard. It was our fault that we didn't read the contract close enough and went on the verbal conversation that we had with Scott. We were out of town when they installed the landscaping. When we came back we were shocked that the front remained untouched. That was in October. Fast forward to the spring of 2015 and we asked Scott for weeks to get our sprinkler system turned back on. We were losing plants right and left because they needed to be watered. I texted him 3-4 times, my husband called and emailed. Scott said he sent someone out to turn it on, but they didn't do the work. Then he had my husband out in the yard trying to figure out how to turn the system back on (my husband is not very handy so that didn't work) because Scott was in Charleston doing some hardscaping. Then he came out and turned in on about 4 weeks after we started this conversation. When my husband and I got home that night there was one head that was continuously watering a big tree. That side of our yard was a swamp because a valve got stuck open. We called Scott again and finally got the system resolved. We asked him to check the landscaping because we had 4 dead bushes and 2 dead arborvitae. The 2 Japanese maples and 1 pink magnolia that he had planted had a lot of dead branches. And the rest of the plants were struggling in general. He told us that he would check them. When we inquired as to his thoughts he said that it was because of our harsh winter. He kept telling us that he would see about getting them replaced. The trees should have been under warranty based on what he originally told us. We finally let Scott go. Long after we should have. We had a new landscaper come out and replace all of the dead bushes and trees to the tune of about $1500. He said that there was not very much dirt in the holes. We have red clay and you have to put quality soil in the holes where the plants are going or the roots cannot grow. The plants that this landscaper put in have thrived and the ones that Scott Turf put in all continue to struggle. After such a long relationship with Scott, my husband and I were really disappointed that we got the dismissal from him over such an expensive job. He actually billed us for something after we fired him!!

Scott's a true pro. He's responsive, he cares, he has good ideas and the quality of his work is excellent. I feel very good about what he has done for my lawn and landscape.

I scheduled the work for Thursday or Friday, on Sept 28 or 29. I requested a preliminary phone call before the work was confirmed and actually scheduled to be able to prepare my lawn. I did not receive a courtesy call before the workers arrived, and the workers arrived a day early on Wednesday, Sept. 27th, while I was in the process of preparing my lawn. The work was 50% completed before I new that the contractors were aerating. The aeration job was mediocre at best and the seeds have not germinated as expected even though I have an automatic sprinkling system.

WE CALLED TO GET THE COMPANY TO PERFORM LANDSCAPING WORK AT TWO HOMES AND HE MADE SEVERAL PROMISES THAT HE NEVER KEPT. HE DOES NOT RESPOND TO EMAILS OR CALLS.

CALLED AND SCHEDULED CORE AERATION. SCOTT TURF THEN DID A NO SHOW. 3 CALLS INTO THE MAIN LINE, AND NO CALL BACKS. SEEMED SOMEWHAT DISORGANIZED. HAD GOOD RATES, BUT GOOD RATES PLUS NO SHOW=NO GOOD.

WE HAVE BEEN MORE THAN HAPPY WITH SCOTT TURF. WE TRANSFERRED THEIR SERVICES OVER TO OUR NEW HOME WHEN WE MOVED HERE FROM A RENTAL OVER A YEAR AND A HALF AGO. FOR A LONG TIME, IT WAS THE OWNER HIMSELF WHO SERVICED OUR YARD BUT, GOOD FOR HIM, HE'S GOT A MUCH LARGER CLIENTELE NOW AND HAS CAPABLE EMPLOYEES WHO DO THE WORK AT MOST LOCATIONS. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT SCOTT TURF. ONLY RARELY HAVE WE HAD PROBLEMS WITH TIMING - OUR YARD GETTING LONGER THAN PREFERRED. THESE FEW TIMES HAVE BEEN DUE TO A COMMUNICATION ISSUE BETWEEN THE OWNER AND HIS EMPLOYEES AND HAVE SINCE BEEN FIXED. THE OWNER IS INCREDIBLY POLITE TO TALK TO, AND VERY HONEST ABOUT WHAT OUR NEEDS ARE FOR YARDWORK. HE'LL TELL US WHAT WE NEED TO DO, BUT WON'T FORCE US INTO ANYTHING. IT'S OUR DECISION WHETHER WE ACCEPT THE VARIOUS SERVICES HE PROVIDES. CONSIDER THIS A RAVE REVIEW FOR SCOTT TURF!!
