They were very responsive, punctual and professional, got a quote to us quickly, and the work was done very quickly at the quote price. I would definitely use them in the future; they also do murals, which we are very interested in having in our new house.
Description of Work: Repaired drywall along the top of tub that had been peeling away due to condensation from the shower. Reparied hole in the ceiling that had resulted from condensation forming in the attic. Painted the master bathroom a lighter shade of blue. Painted the guest bathroom (never been painted prior). The paint was included in the price.

 + -1 moreThis company was contacted based upon prior reviews in Angie's List. They returned my call promptly and we set up an appointment for an estimate. The owner came on Friday, we came to terms on a fair price, and the work was preformed on Saturday. It was a one day project. He came on time, protected the area where he was painting, did an excellant job, cleaned up and left the place in better shape than when he arrived. The workmanship was just what one would expcet from a quality painter. This painting project was the interior of an attached garage. Threee walls and the ceiling. He treated it the same as one wouild an interior room. Overall we would use them again, and were very pleased with the workmanship, treatment received from them, and the outcome

 + -1 moreAfter getting information and estimates from three different companies we decided to give the job of painting the interior of our townhouse to Ray. His estimate was very competitive and he offered by far the most comprehensive painting options. The other companies we interviewed told us upfront that they did not do faux finishes, something we wanted applied to two accent walls in our home. Ray had no problem with this request and even went out of his way to find the paint the would give us the best result. We had asked for an upfront consultation to get a recommendation on the colors to use and Ray proved to be very helpful there as well. The fact that Ray only uses environmentally friendly paint was very much appreciated. Ray showed up every day right on time and worked until late afternoon without hardly any breaks, until the work was completed. We are very happy with the result and would hire Ray again without hesitation.
Description of Work: Painted the interior of our three story townhouse, including the ceilings, trim and doors. Fixed small blemishes, cracks and nail holes in the drywall prior to painting.

There was a brief period of time during which both Ray and his family -- and I -- were in the throes of moving, when we kept missing each other on the phone -- but that's perfectly understandable. (Another write-up on Green Apple expressed frustration with being able to contact them; this is probably why. I'm confident that if they were to call Ray back now, they'd be thrilled with the work, too!) You will not be disappointed with Ray's work!!
Description of Work: I just bought a new home and was anxious to have some of the painting done before the furniture arrived. The living room was painted a mustard color, with (what I initially thought were) rough-hewn beams stained dark brown across the 22' high ceiling. The thought had occurred to me that at some point in the future, I'd want to box in those beams and make them more formal to match the rest of the house -- but for the time being, I was just going to have the ceiling painted a cream color. This seemed like a good approach, as a grand piano was to be placed in the room, and painting the ceiling ahead of time would just be easier. The walls had to wait until furniture arrived in order to ensure a good match. Ray arrived right on time on the day before my furniture delivery. But as we examined the ceiling more closely, I realized the beams were not rough-hewn, afterall, but were already boxed in and finished. I asked Ray if he could go ahead and paint those, too, since he'd already have the scaffolding up. He agreed and took care of the whole ceiling job -- AND the window frame, which was also painted brown. Only problem was . . . now that both the ceiling and beams were a very similar color, the beams didn't show up at all. (My bad call, not Ray's!) In order to set off the beams, the ceiling would have to be painted a contrasting color -- which I could not pick until the furniture had arrived. Ray came back after the furniture was delivered, set up his scaffolding once again (working around the piano which was now in place) and painted both the ceiling and walls in colors I'd chosen to match the rug across the hall in the dining room (but clearly visible from the living room) Bad call #2, on my part!! While the paint matched the blue in the carpet, it just wasn't a "dusty" enough blue to suit my taste. SO!! Ray will be returning in a few weeks to paint my living room ceiling for the THIRD time! He was so nice about it all -- of course, there was additional cost involved, but that was my choice. We had MUCH better luck with two bedrooms and a bathroom which he also painted. Ray works SO quickly and professionally, and his results are flawless!! He moved all the furniture that needed to be moved to paint, and even spackled and touched up a couple of places on the walls where the movers had rubbed the paint. Not a drop of stray paint anywhere. There was some question on what color would look best in one of the bedrooms, and Ray painted patches of three different selections on the wall, so we'd both know I'd be comfortable with my choice (I guess he'd "seen my act" before on colors!) I am thrilled with both bedrooms and the bath -- absolutely perfect!!

 + -1 morePurchased Big Deal coupon many months ago. Made initial contact and Evie said they very busy but would honor coupon after expiration. After that it got progressively worse. Eventually set up time for Ray to look at work. Evie called and told me he couldn't make that appointment. She would call back to reschedule. I had to call to reschedule. Many calls back and forth but most of the time my calls were not returned. When we finally set a time for the work to be done, Ray did not show up. When I called Evie to inquire she did not have me down for an appointment that day. The work looks good and Ray worked very fast but will not use this company again. Big headache dealing with scheduling or lack thereof.

Description of Work: 3 Bedrooms and a Bath were involved in this project. In Bedroom 1, a mirrored wall was removed, wall repaired, and room painted. In Bedroom 2, a stucco type finish was removed from all walls, wall repaired, and room painted. In Bedroom 3, the walls were prepared and painted. In the Bath, Ray's signature Platinum Faux Finish was applied.

 + 0 moreWe chose Greenapple specifically because we wanted a painter who worked with zero VOC paints. Fumes and allergies are a problem for us and Greenapple was thoroughly knowledgeable, if you want to go the zero VOC route Greenapple is the one to choose. They were completely helpful, responsive and professional throughout the job. We had a pretty big job and it was important that the painting happen while other work was being finished, not an optimal situation for any contractor. But Greenapple didn't have any problem and I really appreciate how they stayed flexible and worked with us around staging the project. They encountered some unexpected aspects of the job, especially when it came to removing the wallpaper in the bathroom. Other contractors would've complained or tried to jack up the price - Greenapple was just the opposite - they wanted to make sure we were pleased with they solution they devised. We were so impressed. They gave good color advice and are punctual and clean on the jobsite. Our walls are absolutely beautiful, beautiful. Finally, they are really nice people. Hire Greenapple and don't worry about anything.

 + 0 moreWhile moving stuff around in the attic, I put my foot and leg through the ceiling of a bedroom below. Ray did an awesome job on the repair of the hole I left. You wouldn't know that their used to be insulation hanging like a chandelier from the very spot. He was very efficient and neat. His work was very professional. I wouldn't hesitate to call on him again for larger projects.
Description of Work: Cut out damaged drywall of ceiling and replaced with new piece. Completly smoothed out rough edges and primed for future painting.

 + 1 moreBefore the job began, mike came over to a**** my projects which included several drywall fix issues, caulking and painting of a few areas. He discussed all my issues and concerns, what some of the limitations may be and also gave me some suggestions in relation to paint finish choices. I received a fair estimate of additional work that I needed done which would make my project complete. The issues with the drywall had a lot to do with the quality of work of the builder. Ray was able to fix those issues seamlessly. These were issues that I stared at all the time in disgust. With his work, those imperfections just disappeared. I chose bold paint colors which had me a little worried however at the completion of the job I was very pleased. The colors came out exactly how I wanted and I did not see those brush strokes. He did an excellent job. Not only did Ray cover my imperfect paint job, but he also covered several areas where I left paint. The finish on shoe molding really completed the look. After he finished the work, he cleaned up completely and left my home exactly as it was before he arrived. I am very happy with the job he did and I would definitely hire him again.

Painting day started out fine and then it became evident that a third coat was needed, which was extra from the "deal." B/c I knew that the walls were in bad shape, I was fine w/ the extra $150 for the third coat. and the extra gallon of paint that was needed. It was a one day job - although a looong day, for sure. Could not be happier!!! If I owned the place instead of renting, I would have had the whole place repainted b/c I know it would be done the RIGHT way!! Nice person, fine professional, great jobj!!!
Description of Work: Three rooms painted and two accent walls. Startred around 8:30am and went thru until all were completed around 6:30pm. Clean, neat, and worked very carefully and thoughtfully around the limitations of my rented townhome. Great job!

The work was impeccable and Ray was on time, friendly and went the extra mile in making sure our home was spotless after all the work was done. He was very detail oriented in making sure all the spots and the ceiling were paint ready and his price for all the work was very affordable.
Description of Work: Patched about 8 drywall holes/spots in our home. Removed popcorn from one ceiling area and prepped for painting.

 + -1 moreMy husband and I have always done our own painting, so we had no idea what to expect pricewise. Received three quotes; Green Apple was the lowest of the three. I am very pleased with the quality of work. Ray arrived each day exactly when he said he would, was well organized, and a careful and expert painter. No messes, and excellent cleanup. He would have finished, as projected, in two days, but had to apply an extra coat on the closet and make some repairs which took more time. Informed me at end of each day exactly where project stood and what he would do the next day. Carefully outlined what his extra charge (reasonable) was for, and gave me credit for some paint I bought. Overall, I'm very happy with how the project went.
Description of Work: Painted master bedroom with large closet, and master bath with commode room - walls, trim, doors, etc. Repaired walls where needed.

I couldn't be happier and will use Ray again....although I will eventually run out of walls!
