My first visit was to come in and to diagnosis any issues that needed to be fixed. I was putting my home eon the market so I had to make it ready for inspections. The 2nd visit was to repair the ceiling fans. The 3rd visit was for a repair on my horse arena for extra lighting. The 4th visit I had him put in an electrical service in my horse trailer. Mark Evers is knowledgable, professional, and thorough. He is aware of all codes and I would highly recommend him to others.

I called Christina to schedule my appointment. I have used Evers Electric before and they have always been fantastic. Mark showed up as scheduled and we went over the work to be performed. He noticed issues with my whole house surge protector when he opened up the electrical panel. He immediately showed me the problems with the mounting and wiring. It was sitting loose inside the CB panel (behind the inside cover), instead of being mounted to the wall outside the box where you can see the indicator lights. It was also wired in a manner that protected only half of the circuits. Everything turned out great. Mark ran a new circuit to an exterior box on the front of my house and also added an extra outlet inside my garage. He also mounted and wired the surge protector correctly. The work was neat and professional looking. Mark and Christina are both awesome.

Will NEVER use this company or recommend to anyone, for the attitude that Mark showed while in my house. I fixed the appointment at $65/hour due to misquote by Christina, which she honored even though the company normally charge $75/hour. Mark, the electrician, comes out and does the job of fixing the three-way switch and replacing the bulbs on a high ceiling fan. It roughly took him about an hour to hour-ten minutes. I liked the work and showed him some of the other work that I want an estimate for, which runs for about 25 more minutes. In the end I am given a bill charging me for 1.75 hours at $75/hour. I question him on the charges since I discussed the per hour rate of $65 with Christina and also asked him about why am I being charged for the estimation part. Because of a missed communication between Christina and Mark (both working in Evers Electric), Mark got frustrated and strated saying all sorts of things while in my house. Some of the things he said was 'You are getting your work done for FREE', 'I am not happy working for such penny-pinching ****' and he went out the door cursing all the way. If the employees don't communicate between each other, how is that customer's problem? I went with what I was told by Christina. He even said 'Get this additional work done from someone else because I don't want to work with people like you'. Now what is that supposed to mean, I am just questioning the charges that you have billed me. 'Money does not grow on trees', so if I am pinching to save some dollars based on the facts that I was given - is there a problem in that? Updated After Provider Response: There were 3 people in the room (excluding me) who can vouch for every word I wrote in my previous review about what Mark said while sitting (not standing) in my family room. Its really a pity how you are covering the unprofessional behavior with a false story - overhearing through the van - really?? I gave a C for punctuality since Mark walked in at 11:15 for a 11 AM appointment and charged me as if the appointment started at 11AM. When I questioned him, he told me 'I got in a van and came here and the fact that I am still here - it is chargeable'. I gave a C for Responsiveness, even though you were responsive to me but the same information was not passed along to the technician. I gave a D for price since I was quoted one price and charged at a different one.

Response from EVERS ELECTRIC
The customer explained to me that he had talked to a few other companies prior to me calling him back to set an actual appointment for Mark to come out and provide electrical services. The customer wanted to confirm our rate prior to us coming out during my second conversation with him the following week of his first call. When I told him our hourly rate he stated that he remembered me stating that it would be $10.00 less than what I had quoted him. I am sure he may have been remembering that price from another company. However, in an effort to gain his business and to follow the motto of the "customer is always right" (even when they are not) I conceded and stated we would accept the $10.00 less per hour. He then stated that since our first conversation which he contacted us regarding a referral from another source other than Angie's List, that he had since found us on Angie's List and wanted to utilize our $10 coupon which would then bring our first hours rate down by $20.00. Mark was there close to 2 hours in which 15 minutes of this was spent on an estimate, this is why he was charged for one hour and forty-five minutes. If you ready our reviews, Mark is very concise with his time. We believe in being completely honest with all of our customers and believe we have maintained this way of doing business all along. Again, I did not mis-quote the customer, I just conceded to his rate in order to gain his business. The customer did state in his review that he was pleased with our work and that prior to the invoice being given to him he was going to hire Mark for future work, so why would he give a "C" rating for quality if the was going to re-hire Mark. We responded to the customer immediately after his first call. I explained we are a one man operation and that sometimes we are not able to get out in the same day. This first call was on a Friday and I explained I would leave him on stand by for the following week and he was satisfied with this. I called him that next week and explained when we had time available and he was good with making an appointment for that day and time frame. We typically give a two-hour window for Mark's arrival and I even decreased that down to 1 1/2 hours to try and accommodate the customer. When it came down for the appointment, Mark was actually early and I called the customer and asked if he could show up early and Mr. Delliwala was good with that, so therefore I don't understand how he could give us a "C" for both responsiveness and Punctuality. As for the price being a D, he stated that he called other electricians, so if we were priced higher than other electricians he could have gone to them, but he didn't. Especially since we conceded to a much lower hourly rate from what we normally charge and left only charging for the one hour. I believe all of his ratings are based on the way the appointment ended and that we have been unfairly/unjustly rated. I will not argue or defend the rating for professionalism. However, I do want to state that Mark waited until he was in his van and believed he was out of the customer's presence to express his frustrations. However the customer put himself in listening distance of Mark's van. Mark has never in all the 11 years ended a job in this manner. Although, I do not justify him, I can understand his frustrations. However, he did not use the words penny pinching ***. I hope any future Angie's List Members will give us the benefit of the doubt and strongly consider our long history of A ratings and not base any decisions off of the customer's reviews. I feel that his reviews were mainly unjust. Thank you.

I was very pleased with the work done. My ceiling fan used to vibrate to such an extent that it appeared that it would come loose from the ceiling. Also I am now able to adjust the speed and lighting with a remote control. The receptionist that made the appointment was courteous and followed through on confirming on the day of the appointment that I was still prepared to have them come out. The electricians kept me apprised of when they would arrive and were quick, neat and efficient with the work done. I felt that the price was very reasonable and was happy that they had additional parts available to fix an issue with the fan that I had not specified when making the appointment.

I called and talked with Christina about getting a quote. She gave me a quick estimate over the phone and scheduled a time for Mark to come by and write up a quote, and tentatively blocked off a time for the work to be done. I had gotten several quotes and decided to go with Evers Electric. Mark started the job on March 6th, 2012 around noon and completed it on the 7th. I would definitely recommend and I would use them again for my electrical work.... the job was done in a professional, prompt, courteous and efficient manner. Thank you... we are enjoying our new lighting.

The appointment was scheduled within three business days of our call and the technician arrived promptly at the scheduled time. The work required a tall A-frame ladder which the tech brought with him. Other electrical companies quoted us rental fees for such equipment and time to pick it up. We received estimates from $250.00 to $450.00, including up to 5 hours labor for this job. Evers charged us $106.00 for this work and completed it in less than 1 1/2 hours. The work was professionally done and we are very pleased with the result. We would recommend Evers Electric to anyone needing electrical services.

Christina set up the estimate and appointments via email. She was responsive and accommodating and, since I'm not the easiest person to reach by phone, I appreciated the quick communication I could do from my smartphone. Mark Evers came and gave us our free estimate first and he spent time explaining what he could do for us and gave us a detailed written estimate of the light fixture estimate as well as estimates on adding new circuits within our house. We didn't add the new circuits because of personal reasons but Mark gave us the best of 3 estimates on the light fixtures. On the day of the installation, he called as Christina said he would to give me a heads up on when he would arrive. He was able to replace my fixtures within 2 hours and the lights look much better than our old fixtures. Mark was professional and friendly. I would definitely use him again if I need an electrician.

Christina is very comfortable communicating via e-mail which was great as I was traveling on business while setting up an appointment. Mark came out and installed two floodlights, which included a run to Lowe's for a part missing from the manufacturer's box (was unopened) and two electrical boxes. The lights work as designed. Mark came out for a service call on some lights that were out in my landscape lighting. He found one wire that had been cut by a landscaper, one connection that was repaired, and one bulb that was out (had worked 4 days earlier). He did a great job explaining to me what he found, what he needed to do for repairs, and detailed the costs (in addition to the service charge). Great work, very thorough, and communicates well. There maybe be cheaper electricians, but if you want it done right for a very fair price, go with Evers Electric. FYI, the first "e" is a long "e" when pronouncing the name.

I had a number of outlets that did not work. Mr. Evers came over just as he said and was able to fix the problem in less than hour - a poorly-wired Ground Fault Indicator that was done when the house was built nearly 13 years ago. Just as good as the service was the advice his wife (she responds to business calls) gave me the previous week in regard to another issue that turned out to also be related to a GFI which just needed to be reset. She saved me the cost of a service call since all I had to do was press the reset button. I Will definitely give them another call if I have an electrical problem.

Very nice man as well as his wife(receptionist) I was charged($25) for a ladder charge for my 2 story foyer and a $10 travel charge which was waived due to being an Angies List customer The distance was about 10 minutes. I dont understand these type of charges. I think it might as well be built into the overall price because when you hire a serviceman shouldnt he have the tools already to complete the job?Anyway I believe he did good work and he was pleasant.

We had been using another Angie's List company for previous electrical work, but I had become disenchanted with them. Mark Evers will be our new electrician, hands down. I would definitely recommend him to other Angie's List members, and I will use no one else for future electrical work.
Description of Work: We have under cabinet lighting in our kitchen, and the light above the cooktop has not been working properly for months--sometimes it comes on but most of the time it doesn't work at all. I selected Evers Electric from the Angie's List website because of their good reports. When I called, I spoke to Mark's wife, and she was quite pleasant and helpful and an appointment was set up; in fact, she rescheduled someone's appointment to accomodate my schedule. Mark came out right on time and found the problem with the light fixture. He needed to replace a part. He also inspected the other lights, and I was impressed with his knowledge and expertise.

Mark was very courteous and professional, and patient. He arrived on time, with all of the tools he needed to complete the items that I had requested when making the appointment. After replacing the breaker for the cooktop, he meticulously checked and tightened all of the other connections in the panel box, where he found at least half of the connections to be very loose. I very much appreciated this, as such things present very real and dangerous safety issues. After replacing the kitchen light fixture, he took the time to remove the marks that the previous fixture had made with a magic eraser. I must say that I have never had anyone take such care when completing work in my home. The ceiling fan was an extremely challenging endeavor due to it's design and placement height. Mark's patience and diligence in assembling, installing, placing the crystals on, and balancing this beast of a fan were also very much appreciated. He was knowledgeable concerning his profession, and took the time to answer all of my questions. His attention to detail was impeccable, and he cleaned up the work spaces prior to leaving. I will definitely use his services again and will highly recommend him to my friends and neighbors. This is definitely a compliment, as I do not casually refer service providers.

Mark was very professional, courteous, and personable. He patiently answered every one of our many questions about possible electrical dangers, circuit breaker issues, and more. He even showed us how to make the changes to the remaining outlets ourselves to help keep our costs down. Would definitely recommend Evers Electric without hesitation.
