The trees are down, but the falling branches and trunk pieces did damage to two smaller trees--an apple and a ligustrum. The 7 ft. ligustrum that I had just paid to have shaped was so badly damaged that I told Jose to just remove it--which he charged me for. The men tied ropes to the chunks of trunk that were to be cut, then wrapped the other end of the ropes around the trunk of my healthiest pine to control the fall. I even went out one time and told Jose that what they were doing would damage the tree and he said, "It won't hurt the bark. Don't worry about it," and shooed me away. They really took off way too much trunk at one time, and on a few occasions lost control of the trunk pieces. Sadly, because of the weight of the falling pieces, the ropes did leave deep, permanent rope lines gouged into the bark of the good pine. Also, a big gouge (9" x 24") was left on another pine tree, deeper than just bark (you can see the sap coming through), was taken out by their bobcat or the stump grinding machine. They sprayed some old-school black tar on it--no one else uses that stuff anymore; it has been found that it does nothing to heal or protect the tree. The worst thing is that they took my check and left without owning up to the damage they did. The stump grinder only ground the stumps down 10 inches, which my landscape architect said is sub par. Also, all the chips were left in my yard. Jose says his policy is to leave the grinds. We had no written contract, so I had expected the debris to be cleared. Instead there are three big mounds of waste in my yard. I spoke with Jose, the owner, and asked him to come back and remove all the grinding debris and some branches that were left behind as a means of making up for the damage. He was only willing to clean up the grindings level to the ground, but not clean out the three 10" deep holes. He denied that the damage to the ligustrum was bad enough to have it removed. My yard is a mess, and I have to pay someone else to clean it up. My review seems to be the only negative one. Jose seemed knowledgeable and kind when he came for the estimate. The team arrived early and worked hard--just not efficiently or carefully. I'm sure this company would do a fine job with shrub removal and smaller trees, but next time I would pay more for a larger outfit with proper equipment to remove my tall, old trees.

We could not be happier. Initially, I had requested an estimate last year (estimate was free), but ultimately was not able to proceed with the project at that time. When I was ready to move forward a year later, the same price that was originally quoted was honored. Proof of liability and workers compensation insurance was cheerfully and quickly provided by Amy their office manager. Our project had to be delayed slightly due to several days of severe rain, but then things were underway. Jose and his crew were very punctual, pleasant and were extremely respectful not only of my property, but that of my neighbor's as well. Jose was on site and directing his employees at all times. I would highly recommend their services. The work was efficiently perfomed, no mess to clean up. A project that I was sure would take the better part of day, was done in only 4 hours! The price was quite a value based on estimates received from other companies and considering everything that was done. We are thrilled with the outcome and I will not hesitate to enlist their services in the future.

The service was recommended to me by my gardener. I called Amy at the office on Friday and she scheduled an appointment for me on Monday for an estimate. Jose came by and gave me an estimate which I thought was very fair. He returned 2 hours later to do the work. The overall work time was approximately 4 hours and it was done just as I asked. Jose was prompt and polite and his price was very competitive. I was very pleased with the speed and quality of the work.

WHAT A FIND THIS COMPANY WAS! I ABOUT FELL OVER WHEN HE SAID IT WAS ONLY FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS, AND HE EVEN DID SOME BONUS LANDSCAPING. WE'VE TOLD PLENTY OF PEOPLE ABOUT THESE GUYS.
