Gonzalez Tree Care

He was very good. I was able to call him early. He told me he would be there very quickly and he was. He told me what the price would be when he would be back to do the work and he was. He completed it quickly, efficiently and cleaned up everything.

I hired Gonzalez Tree Care after interviewing and receiving quotes from a total of 3 companies that provide this service. Gonzalez Tree Care was the quickest to respond, came within a day to look at the job and provide a quote, then provided his insurance information. This company was very professional thru the whole course of dealing with them. They did a great job taking the trees down and made sure everything was cleaned up behind them when they left. Basically, they said what they would do and did what they said. I have already recommended this company to 2 other people and will hire them the next time I need more trees removed. They did a great job. There is no clearance in our yard for felling a tree, so they had to cut it at the bottom, brace the trunk with ropes to other trees and lop off the bottom repeatedly to drop it down to a size they could carry out. It took them awhile but they were very careful and took great care of our yard, even watching out for our baby blueberry bush nearby. No marks on the other trees they used to brace it, which I was slightly worried about. I'd definitely hire them again.

The crew of about 4 or 5 guys came to my home, I showed them what the owner and I discussed to be done, they all were very professional. They used heavy equipment to shred the trees down to the stump. And they cleaned up all the debris after taking down the trees. What they left were a huge dent in my back yard where the heavy equipment was being used. When they trimmed the hedges in my front yard, they left the trimmings on the ground.

1st visit - Came out to give estimate and tagged large limbs to be removed. 2nd visit - Came out within a week of estimate. Crew of 5 came out with project manager. They worked like a well-oiled machine and took the limbs down, cleaned up debris and blew leaves in the yard (latter project not asked for but much appreciated). Work was completed within 1.5 hours. Professional and timely.

The estimate was prompt. The estimator clearly knew his job and assured me how they would do the cutting. He personally trimmed a tree that grows on my deck and could not have done a better job of it; this was hard because a couple of the tree's branches were near a power line. He also chopped down some overgrown holly bushes from around the deck, and did a good job there also. For his part, I'd give him an "A+". The only thing that was a problem was that the crew arrived before the foreman and apparently none of them spoke English, so a couple of things that I thought would be saved were cut and I couldn't communicate with them. (This is not a huge problem for me because I definitely have more than enough trees on my lot). The crew did the cutting and clearing of the side of the lot so I would be able to see the street. If I could have changed anything it would have been that the crew didn't start until the foreman arrived and could explain the job. I am usually OK with Spanish but didn't make any headway at all with making the crew understand so perhaps they'd been told in advance to start cutting as quickly as possible. My sister also used Gonzalez and was mostly happy with what was done.

Awesome!! It went extremely smooth and without a hitch! They were on time and did more than I had requested, not charging me extra. What a wonderful experience!

I called for an estimate and someone came right out within a couple of days. After reviewing several estimates, I chose them based both on their Angie's List rating and their quote. A few days later, the trees were trimmed to my satisfaction and then the debris was taken away. Prompt, courteous and a job well done!

They arrived early, worked quickly and cleaned up all the debris.

Entire job was done in an hour. Very professional company, Brian is very friendly and knowledgeable. Yard was properly cleaned after work was complete.

There were a bunch of guys that came out to do a 4 hour coupon that I purchase. I needed some trees to be limbed up and one needed to be prune. The guy told me it was going to cost more than the coupon that I purchase for the couple of trees that needed attention. He total up the price and than subtracted the groupon from the price. I had to get the job done so I went ahead and paid for the service. I did feel like I was taken advantage of and will not use this provider again.

They did a great job. They cleaned up very well and cut the logs just how I wanted. We were really, really pleased with what they did. Their price was very reasonable and lower than other quotes I received. My neighbor even used them after he saw what a great job they did on my yard.

Great company. Called and set appointment. Came on time and was very professional. The estimate was more than fair for the work done - 8 trees removed. Crew was on time and professional - each man knew his job and they completed the job on time. They had to remove 3 sections of my 10' fence and after they put them back my wife could not tell which sections were removed. Except for the trees being gone you could not tell they were even here. The estimate process went very well. They provided service for our neighbors and did a good job. The price was also very competitive.

A nice man came and gave me an estimate soon after I called. I can't remember his name, but he really seemed to know a lot about this and understood very well all the aspects of taking down this tree. I got 2 other estimates and his was much lower, so I went with him. The day was scheduled soon after. I can't say enough about how much fun it was to watch these guys work! Next time I'll have some of my friends come over to watch it with me. I sat outside with a cup of coffee and watched the whole thing. One guy was up in the tree with ropes, pulleys, and a chain saw for a couple of hours. There was a crew of about 5 other guys on the ground working the ropes to lower each part of the tree to the ground. Some of them also ran the chipper. They were so careful and nothing was damaged by the tree. To save money I told them they could push the largest part of the trunks into my woods, since I have 2 acres, and they did this with a bobcat, which did tear up the grass a bit, but I'm not too concerned about that because it will just grow back. They had a dump truck full of mulch with them and asked me if I wanted it. I said I'd take it if they could dump it into the middle of a grove of trees and also spread it around a bit. They did this and spread it with the bobcat. I also told them to leave me the pile of mulch from my tree and they did. So I got a bonus, and I'm sure they were happy to not have to pay to dump it somewhere. I'm very happy with the work and the price! I will always go with this company for all the tree work that I need. There was only one point where I was worried that the language difference might be a problem. I needed to paint the stump with a chemical and it had to be done with in 20 minutes of it being cut. I told the boss-guy, who spoke with an accent but had a very good command of english, but he wasn't there when the stump was cut. I tried to get the issue across to the guys, that I needed access to the stump right away, but they only spoke spanish, so I was worried I might miss the "window" and be dealing with the tree trying to grow back for years (which has happened to me in the past!) I ran to get the boss-man, he came back with me, and by the time we got there the guys had the stump ready for me to paint, so it turned out to not be an issue. The man who came and gave me the estimate was fluent in english (a native-born American) so don't be worried about any language problem with these guys, because there's someone there who can interpret when needed.

My estimate was timely and concise. They came prepared, were organized, quick, efficient and friendly and listened to me, a woman. They had that tree down and ground up in nothing flat. They did have to come up on the lawn with equipment, but not excessively so. Never really touched either house and avoided shrubbery. Everything was left neat, cleaned up and swept when they left. I was impressed.

First - the only part of the whole experience that could have been better: the initial contact. The contact information given was of a cell phone number. I called it, left a message, but the recorded message did not identify this number as the Gonzalez tree service company. So, I was not sure that I reached them. They responded after a few days. The experience past this point was perfect. The guy who came to set up the job literally saved my life. While putting tape around one of the largest trees to be cut, we disturbed a yellow jacket nest and we were both attacked. I was stung more that 20 times and he was stung even more times. He was cool, however, and stayed around to make sure I was not allergic to bee stings. I am not. We ended up putting color-coded tapes around the trees to be trimmed and those to be cut down. On the day of the job, a large crew came on time, with a complete set of tools for the job. They are experienced, professionals, and they knew fully well what they were doing. I watched the entire job and was amazed at the speed with which they worked. The hauled out the wood after cutting it to manageable log sizes, they shredded the small limbs and left the yard as clean as anyone would have hoped for. I was particularly impressed with their time-saving techniques of swinging from one finished tree to the next. I have ZERO complaints about the job. I would use them again, and again, and recommend them without reservation.

Estimate was quick and accurate.Workers showed up on time. Very well equipped, and safety conscious.Did a thorough job, asked if we were happy, and totally cleaned up (raked and blew).

Initially contacted them to cut down a tree. We were told the special was more for a estimate of future work etc. We needed the tree cut down right away so called someone else. Had Gonzalez tree care come back and cut a limb rubbing on our roof.

When the trees were cut down, they landed EXACTLY where expected - no damage to anything!

They were actually doing some work for a neighbor so we asked, while they were there, if they could just come over and do ours too. They did a really good job at a really good price.

Even though they had increased business because of the Angie's List deal AND a tornado, they came promptly and cut down and cleaned up after all the trees. They were so good we bought another coupon for them to do more work and would hire them again to cut down more trees if the need arose.

The company called me back very promptly and arranged to perform the work the following day. The work was done very professionally and the fee seemed extremely reasonable. I would definitely use this company again.

I contracted with Gonzalez because Brian, their representative, seemed to know what he was doing and was a responsible person. The work was supposed to be done the next week, but Brian called me Friday morning (2/10) and asked if they could do the work Friday afternoon because they had finished other jobs earlier than expected. I expressed concern about getting good quality work because of the change in schedule, but was assured by Brian that this was a really good crew that they would do a great job. Unfortunately, what I got was not great work, but a great disaster. When the crew arrived (on time), Brian was clearly in a hurry to move on to another job he had scheduled and spent only about ten minutes instructing the crew on what to do. If the crew was as skilled as Brian claimed, that probably would have been sufficient, but that was not the case. I went upstairs to my office feeling I was in good hands, checked on what was happening about an hour later and then came back about 4:15. Here is what I found. My nice butterfly bush had been crushed by a limb or something they dropped on it. I also discovered later that they didn't even remove some branches in other trees that they broke. My Bradford Pear trees had been topped, but not really pruned. The guy with the chain saw (who could only speak a few words of English) asked me to tell him what else to cut, but I didn't have time for that. Funny, I thought they were supposed to know what to do. However, their crowning achievement was driving their monster truck through my orchard, creating about 250 feet of deep ruts because the soil was wet - which should have been obvious. I cannot imagine why they did this. Apparently they were too lazy to cut up the trees in smaller pieces and carry them all of 20-30 feet to the chipper on the driveway. After all, it was Friday afternoon and they had to cut every corner they could to start the weekend. I don't want to go into all the gory details, but after I complained to Brian, Mr. Gonzalez showed up at my house about 6:00PM to survey the damage, but he didn't call me to tell me he was coming and he interrupted what I was doing. He promised to fix everything and I told him exactly what needed to be done. He was also told that no one was to come to my house when I was not home and to call first to make an appointment. What happened was he sent someone to my house to repair the damage on Saturday, when he knew I would be out of town. As you might expect, the person who did the repairs didn't do what Mr. Gonzalez promised. Some of the work was OK, some was not, and only about half of the repairs were even attempted. I paid them a little more than half of the original contract price, but I would have been much happier to get good work and not have to spend my time undoing the dmage they caused. As I explained to Brian, I didn't hire them to make more work for me, but that's what I got.
