CAROLINA CHIMNEY

PLEASE BE WARNED. This was our experience: After many delays, Steve *began* the work about 4 months after the estimate was done. Months after the job was *started* it was *still* not finished. In our case, he would not follow-through & show up when he said he would (this happened repeatedly, sometimes with excuses like weather, and sometimes with the excuse that he had too many other jobs going on). When a week or two would pass and we would follow up with him, he responded to us like we were bothering him and we were in the wrong. Moreover, the total bill was well more than what we were quoted. Steve is a jovial individual, exceptionally talkative, knowledgeable in his trade but the utter lack of integrity as far as follow-through (doing what he says he will) has been an utter nightmare and a terrible lesson for us.

We wouldn't know-called three times, first we never got a call back, last two times we got a recorded message that the mailbox was full and couldn't leave a message. That is no way to run a business!

They were professional, clean and courteous. They went above and beyond to ensure things were done properly. We are planning on using them again this Summer for cleaning the chimney.

Cleaned the chimney at a reasonable price. He cleaned up very well. He wanted us to make a clam with our insurance company to install something we did not even need.

In preparation to re-install the stove he came out to check everything out. He tried to oversell us on things we did not need. He had gone up on our roof to check everything out and said we did not have the right flu liner in our chimney. Which he was going to charge us quite a bit for a newer "up to code" liner. We actually had to go up on our roof to prove to him that we knew we did. We would not use or recommend Carolina Chimney to anyone.

STEVE WAS AWESOME. HE IS VERY NICE, AND HE IS REALLY CONSCIOUS ABOUT NOT MAKING A TOTAL MESS. HE PUT PLASTIC OVER EVERYTHING BEFORE HE STARTED SO THE WHOLE ROOM LOOKED SPOTLESS WHEN HE WAS FINISHED.
