I was really impressed by the job ABJ Roofing did for us. It was clear that ABJ Roofing staff worked well as a team and that they had a great deal of experience in roof replacement. They replaced our entire roof within one business day and our roof looks great! We would recommend ABJ Roofing to anyone.

They showed up promptly and presented an accurate proposal. They scheduled the work about three weeks out. They had the materials delivered on time, and started when they could weather permitting. They are very professional and did a good job. Their proposal was not as slick as another large local roofing contractor, but here are the differences that mattered to me: All their workers are W2 employees, not subcontractors, and my understanding is that they are all family members. They were willing to replace the Solatube fixtures and suggested saving the existing gutters which meant more work for them, but saved me $. The cleanup was pretty daunting (four truckloads of debris). I believe that they did the best that they could, but I still picked up a handful of nails after they were finished. If I were to do it again, the one thing that I would ask is that they pay close attention to the cuts around the flashings so that the flashing is exposed for an even amount on both sides. Not a big deal, and they offered to correct it. It won't affect the performance of the roof, it's just not the job that I would have done. Also, they had 8 bundles of shingles left over. I should have asked them to leave a couple for for future repairs. Oh well. A good roofing job is expensive, but you get what you pay for. I could have had this done cheaper, but I have confidence that everything was done properly right down to hand nailing the shingles. I also opted for the manufacturer's 50 yr non-prorated warranty which has its own specs which affected the final cost.

The guys were great to work with and did an outstanding job. Communication was always clear and they were very responsive to requests and scheduling. Would hire again and recommend.

Everything went as expected, very well. They were not the most expensive, nor the least expensive, quote I got, but the price was very reasonable and service/professionalism was great. Mauricio was nice enough to come out and show us shingle samples twice after my wife changed her mind, and she couldn't be happier with the result. The crew showed up at 6:58am (2 minutes early!) and had the job done within six hours. They were honest when describing what sheathing needed to be replaced and didn't try to oversell me on replacing my entire sheathing, even though I could have been convinced. They also tolerated my nosey questions throughout the entire process. Highly recommended.

Job started with a leak that needed immediate attention. I called three Angies list providers. ABJ was the only one that returned my call. On inspection they recommended a roof replacement. I knew that I was close to that anyway. They did a temporary patch and came back two weeks later to do the job. The job took a 1-1/2 days, partially because they were uncertain about the weather and proceeded cautiously to not have a large area exposed in case of rain. They used water sealing material in all valleys and other places where water might work its way in. Vents were added on all roof peaks. Several sheets of plywood were replaced. Cleanup was thorough, and then a second pass was made to get the smaller items that may have been overlooked on the first pass. ABJ impressed me with their use of quality materials, their experience and expertise, and their quality workmanship.

We choose ABJ Roofing based on good feedback from friends and they did a terrific job replacing our old roof. When we noticed a leak this spring, we called ABJ Roofing and they came to inspect our roof the next day. Bulmaro and Maurico were very knowledgeable and did a terrific job discussing the options - from spot repair to full replacement. I appreciated their easy-going and professional conversational style - there was no sales pressure here as they let us make the decision on how to proceed. Based on the age of the roof, and that we already had another leak repaired last fall, we called them back the next day to go for a full replacement. ABJ Roofing provided outstanding service, performing a temporary repair within 24 hours and, when the weather let up, having a whole crew come out to replace the roof in under two days. We love our new roof and we?re also sleeping easier now when it rains! I highly recommend this company.

The work was done on our rental property in Raleigh and currently live in Virginia. We had set up a day for estimates. One company did not show up, several pushed for decisions on the spot, and others treated us like just another dollar, but not ABJ roofing. They stood out from the time of the estimate. They took great care in measuring and evaluating the current skylight that needed to be replaced. They were also able to quote repair work of cedar siding and trim needing replacement. They were the the first to follow up to see if we had received the quote and to make sure we did not have any questions. Another company did eventually follow up but we had already made our decision. ABJ worked with us and the weather to schedule a day that we could travel to Raleigh to be there personally when the work was performed. They started on time and worked late to finish on time. It was obvious that they respected our time and schedule. The crew was impressive to watch and they were very polite with our observing and asking questions. The quality and pride of workmanship was excellent and the price very fair for the work performed. We recommended ABJ to our neighbor who used them the next week to replace their roof. We were very pleased and would use ABJ again. If you do not at least get a quote from them you are doing your self disservice.

We heard the sound of raining in our attic, and the ridge vent had come off and there was rain coming into our attic. They were the only ones that would come out for the emergency repair. They came out in a few hours - we were very impressed!!

The shingles on the house did not look that bad, but what was under them was scary. I found one leak and repaired it, but while in the attic I found two more leaks that were not showing, so right then I decided we needed a new roof. I got 6 competitive quotes and three (3) were for ~$9,500, or very close to it. Three were over $11,000, so all but one of the high bids were removed from the bidding process instantly. ABJ Roofing surprised me. They were the only roofer to actually get a ladder out and go up on the roof. They took great pride in learning what the roof challenges were so they could make a competitive quote. And while talking with the estimators, they were very friendly, low pressure, and offered more information than was needed to help me make an informed decision. One of the higher priced roofs told me I didn't need a new roof, and that it could just be repaired, which early on was one of our options, so we thought. ABJ Roofing informed me of nail holds left in the roof from a previous repair job many years prior. Holes that should have been caulked, but were not. This information helped spur us on to deciding to go ahead and get a new roof. There were already to many hidden mysteries under these shingles. Now we needed to figure out which roofer to select! The other companies offered assistance, but we felt pressured as they presented they options. ABJ Roofing had no pressure, they were not salesmen out to make a quota, but rather, they were simply there to give you an honest quote and provide you with the information you needed to help you make the decision on what material you wished to use. Other roofers didn't wish to take the time to explain the newer types of felt and synthetic underlayment. I was referred to ABJ Roofing and I am glad I was. I have replaced a few roofs when I was younger and I know my way around a roof. They did not feed me any lines like some of the other roofers did. This disqualified the 'other' roofers quickly. In the end, it came down to two (2) $9,500 quotes and one (1) $11,425 quote. But after further research, the high quote was disqualified too, because the shingle they were choosing to use were in my opinion, not as good as the Certianteed brand. And they would not budge on using anything other than GAF product. The property was well cared for. Tarps were laid out, plywood was placed over windows and doors to protect them while they removed the old shingles, and all of the rotten roof was replaced with great care. I would go out every 45 minutes or so and make a round of the house, taking pictures and what not. I climbed the ladders to go up and inspect their work. Looking at how well they interleaved the valleys, whether the ridge vent was to my satisfaction, how the custom drip edge was made and installed, making sure it covered over into the gutter, and making sure that they were replacing all the rotten spots. There were two (2) issues where the builder of the home took shortcuts. The ABJ guys would not stand to roof over what the builder left for them. Instead, they took the time to repair what the builder should have done 24 years ago and moved on without question. And when I ask for a change in what was in the contract, there were no issues. Ask them for a cash discount! And pay with cash! You'll save a lot! The left today, leaving the place very clean. Our bushes are as they were, and the place looks nice. Would I use them again; yes. Would I stay at home to oversee the project again; no. There work is impeccable. I am very impressed with the custom drip edges they made onsite. This could have just thrown up a standard drip edge and no one would have known the difference. But I would have, because I crawled up and inspected it at several locations. They also fixed some rotten fascia at no extra charge. I like good people, and they are good people. The crew were all hard workers. I do not think I need to say any more, Try them, You'll like them. -Steve

They gave a quote a little higher than some others, but they explained the work they would do very well. They seemed very knowledgeable about the products and work needed. They removed the old shingles from the house, and replaced some boards on the roof. Then they put down a whole new roof, felt and all. They did not use contractors that I could tell, the trucks all had their names on the side. I was very pleased with the work. They may not have been the lowest price, but their work was first rate, not some flights by night or subcontract job. I would use them again if I needed repairs or need a new roof after another 30 years.

He is an excellent contractor. He product knowledge and attention to detail is exceptional. He is punctual, honest, and clean. An exceptional contractor. He always answers his phone and is very easy to do business with. Very cordial and nice.

It went very well. They made very good job to my roof. First, Bulmaro, the owner, responded quicly to my request. He made an estimate that made me accept his offer since the price is fair. His crew started to work very early and finished before it got dark. Bulmaro supervised eveything during and at the endo the process to make sure it was done correctly. I recomend ABJ Roofing to anybody that needs quality and prompt service.
