 + -1 moreShawn came the day after July 4th, determined the problem and said he would have to get parts. He called a few hours later and said he was able to determine that our system still had a warranty on it and we would only be charged for his labor, not the parts (saving over $1000). A/c was completely fixed the next day.
Description of Work: A/C died on July 4th. I called to leave a message and someone actually answered the phone. They took a message and said someone would be in touch. Shawn himself called back. We told him it wasn't an emergency since the A/C upstairs still worked.

 + -1 moreto protect carpets and the interior of the house, and clean up thoroughly afterward. Fast forward two years, and during the recent cold snap we lost power to the system. It was problem with our breaker box, not the HVAC system. I was not able to get an electrician to respond, and in frustration I called Shawn. Once again, he came out on a weekend (Saturday morning in our case), diagnosed the problem and called an electrician to replace the blown main breaker on the panel. Shawn always returns calls, always shows up as scheduled, and will be there when you really need assistance. Very highly recommended.
Description of Work: We were staying at the beach (Harker's Island) when our host's HVAC system malfunctioned. It was a Sunday, and they called their HVAC guy. "He's on the way", we were told. I was impressed, as it is a four hour drive from the Triangle area to the beach house. When we needed a new system for our place in Chapel Hill I asked for his contact information. It was Shawn Rich. Shawn was one of three contractors who bid on our system, and he was not the least expensive. We were impressed by the beach incident and his general knowledge, and decided to go with him.  + -1 moreShawn and his crew were great! They were not the cheapest bid, but well worth it!! He went above and beyond what we were expecting. He was the only vendor who had a workable solution to heat/cool our bonus room! We actually use the room now!!
