I had cosmetic surface imperfections on two panels from snow melt. I wanted entire driveway to be resurfaced, sealed, and painted. Reams claimed that one panel was too thin to repair, needed to pull entire block up. That should have been a clue for me to run because driveway was less than 2 years old in a brand new community. Reams destroyed the entire area, lawn and other part of driveway that had no issues. He lied and said he was bonded and insured, which he was not He promised to come back and finish the damage and didn't show up. Homeowner's association wanted to file a complaint against him because he took debris from botched job and threw in drainage easement. He is a crook, and should not be on this site. Please stay away from this loser. I was away when work was performed so neighbors were more upset than I was and felt responsible for his butcher job. He doesn't know anything about concrete and he is a big liar. He was not the least expensive estimate, but I felt sorry for him because he was in a money crunch. Do not use him, buyer beware.

I had both concrete jobs quoted together. I asked for a quote for a 12' driveway at the one property and showed Mr. Reams where I wanted the driveway expanded at the other property. He quoted me $7,295.00 for both jobs. He came out with a couple other guys and started the framework for both projects. When I went to look at the work where the driveway was going in, the framing seemed a little off. I measured the width and near the top, it was only about 10'. Towards the bottom, it was about 11'. I talked to him about it and he said he was only planning to do a 10' driveway. I explained that it was supposed to be 12' wide and I wanted it symmetrical. He said it was going to cost more to do this. He said it wouldn't be much and most of the groundwork was done so I wanted it done right. I had him change the framing so it was 12' all the way down. Also at the top near the road, he had one side flared out at one angle and the other side at a drastically different angle. I had him change this as well. He then framed the expansion of the other driveway. That went mostly okay. No real issues there except they cut the Internet cable line while prepping it. The following day, he came over with 3 other workers to pour concrete. He wanted to pour the main driveway first. They did and it seemed to be going well. After pouring the driveway, he left 2 workers there to do the smoothing and finish work. The other 2 went to the second address to pour the expansion of that driveway. I stood out there with them to watch how it was done out of curiosity. The whole time I was out side, the 2 guys working were complaining and criticizing the decision to do both jobs on the same day. They said it was too much to do in one day. Mr. Reams came over towards the end of the second job and said he was going to come back the next day and cut the expansion joints. His crew was too tired to cut the joints that day. The next morning, before they came back, there was a crack going completely across the middle of the driveway. He said that was just normal. Then my husband poured some water down the driveway and the water funneled right to the garage door. It was not graded away from the house. It puddled right at the corner of the garage door by the wood framing. He said he would fix this. He was going to put in a drainpipe just in that corner. I didn't feel that would look right and said I wanted a drain grate going across the front of that garage door. He then said that was going to cost more. I was already angry about the crack. I told him I wanted the water issue fixed the way I wanted. He came back and cut out a section and put in a grate. The concrete didn't seem to match up very well. While it was still wet, he said the water now funneled to the grate and out the drain pipe. He got a water hose and ran water over the wet concrete to show us. I rubbed the edges and he kept running water and didn't say anything. Well, having water running over wet concrete and me rubbing it caused the surface of the concrete to wash off and the rocks to show through. Even after all that, water still just sits in the grate and doesn't drain completely. Angrily, we decided to just pay him the full amount he had told us plus the extra he said it costs and he then said we owed him even more for some reason that didn't seem to make sense. The original quote was $7,295.00 and we paid him $8,745.00 and he still harassed us. He called later and threatened to come to our house that evening late in the evening and wasn't going to leave til we paid him more. The driveway was never fixed properly and we felt we were being overly nice paying him the full amount he had told us during the job. I feel we overpaid him drastically as it was. I was uncomfortable with him calling and threatening us because we have 5 young children and we were leaving to go out of town the next day and leaving the kids at home with a family member. I was concerned for their safety because Mr. Reams seemed very unstable at this point. He continued to contact us. I was very disappointed in the work and with the interaction with Mr. Reams. The quality was poor and I will never use or recommend him.
Description of Work: I had a concrete driveway poured at one address and widening the driveway at another address in the same neighborhood. The widening was adding about 6' to each side of the existing driveway about halfway up the existing driveway.
