"Broke a vase. Did not advise me, but glued it together.I did not pursue a claim because it was an inexpensive vase. Failed to paint inside of door jams. We had not requested the inside of the closets painted. Painter advised that included the inside door jams. My wife finally "convinced" him to paint them.
Description of Work: Painted the whole interior of the house.

The paint saint proved to be an incompetent in almost every aspect of the job . The lack of performance cost approximate $90,000 in lost income. The work has required replacement and constant repair. He and his crew were totally over their head in the job, yet would not admit it. They lied consistently about completion dates and work quality. I am still paying for repair and will no doubt spend another $60,000 to fix his errors. He has no assets to back his work and has defaulted on a law legal action against him. I would not recommend this contractor to anyone. He should not be in business at all.
Description of Work: The job started with simple interior and exterior painting. It rapidly moved to a major structural repair, which was far beyond the skill of the crew, although they promised to do the job and do it a timely matter. This was a beach rental property, so every week of non-completion cost between $4000- $5000. They were completely in the dark as to the cost and continuously stated they would be done within two weeks or less. An example of their work quality involved replacement of the final siding. The crew purchased a new power nailer and promptly use common nails to replace the siding. Stainless steel nails were removed and they were told to use the same. Every nail needs to be replaced after they played with their new toy.

George Ablan came into the house to quote to change out doors and painting the trim and doors. He said up front he didn't have the cheapest quotes in town, but he said he was a perfectionist and we wouldn't have to pay until the job was completed. We would half upfront and the rest at completion. He gave us a reference to a doctor, who he had done work for previously. The doctor said he did a stellar job and his only complaint was the projects weren't always finished on time. He inspected all of our home, and when we got to the bathroom, he said it would never pass inspection. He said he wasn't a licensed plumber, but he could do the work. I asked for a quote for the bathroom and the rest of the house. He said if the quote was too high he could cut the cost by cutting a few corners. When he gave me the quote I said that was fine, and no corners would need to be cut. He gave me a time frame and we agreed upon it. I noticed that it didn't look like the project would be completed in the agreed upon time frame. I noticed when he was replacing doors he was putting the door knobs on backwards, and he also installed a door backwards. When I brought it to his attention he said it was my fault because I didn't bring it to his attention sooner, and he never fixed the door. In regards to the bathroom he took the bathtub out and leveled the floor. When he was finished the faucet was inch away from the wall and you can see the pipe, and there is a gap between faucet handle and the wall. I called him back and he returned and caulked between the faucet handle and the wall, and he removed the faucet and re-threaded it, but there is still a gap. The overflow drain is incorrect. If we fill the tub higher than the overflow drain it will drain onto the floor. Throughout the project of the bathroom whenever I would mention anything he would constantly say that for the price that I'm paying I shouldn't expect more. When he and his workers were in my home they were making inappropriate jokes, which I found to be unprofessional. He talked me out of my bathroom colors, he wanted to paint the same color as the rest of the house. He rolled his eyes when he saw my trim colors. He hasn't fixed any of his mistakes. He was rude and unprofessional, and I felt as if my project was just done for the money and he really didn't have time to complete my project correctly. He took my check and said they would have to come back the next day to complete. My husband has called him and even volunteered to work on the project with him, but the job isn't complete.
Description of Work: We hired to paint and to complete a plumbing project.

First off, they would come in and tear everything up and leave it that way for days. They would only come back sporadically. They basically held my house captive for five months. They did not even do that good. The crew were young kids and they were not very good. We could not even stay in our house at all. They would pull all of our furniture into one room, cover it up, and leave it there. They even took everything of our cabinets and put plastic up. It sat there for 4 weeks time. I was so upset with him I told him. It just kept getting worse and worse as time went by. They did not meet the deadline or anything. I checked the BBB and they are not even listed as a licensed contractor. It was ridiculous. I hope I never see him again. George Ablan is his name and he also has another number that is 919-393-8558.
Description of Work: I had hired The Paint Saint to do some painting and drought repair work on my beach house.
