We got the bid about 3 weeks before the work was performed. Pat Newcomb and an assistant came out the day before they were to do the work to discuss everything a second time and to mark all of the trees - which I greatly appreciated. His crew of 4 men were on time, were quite courteous, raked the yard and used a blower on the driveway, and were extremely fast in dropping the 100 year old trees in the woods that had died. Most of these trees were close to two power lines, so they had to be climbed and taken down in smaller sections to avoid hitting the lines. The tree in the front by the road was in between two other trees and had many good bushes and flowers near it - and nothing was damaged at all. Quite pleased and highly recommended.

As usual, handled with perfection. It is always a pleasure working with Pat Newcomb. As a general contractor I build new homes and have 62 rental units in South Asheville. Newcomb Tree has completed work for me many times over the last 10 years. If you are looking to hire a tree service company, I can assure you that you've wasted your money if you call anyone else. I have watched other companies clear lots and work-not comparable. Hands down the best company in WNC.

They were on time for the free quote and provided a break down of each task that I requested, or that they recommended. The price was comparable, perhaps a little lower, than other bids I received. I thought it would take much longer, but these guys know how to wield a chain saw.All of the trees came down expertly with little concern for the house. Not something I'd want to risk myself. Will definitely give them a call if we need additional tree work.

Pat came out and gave us an estimate very quickly. The work was completed in the time frame he gave us. The crew cut down a 35 foot pine tree and did a huge pruning on another large pine tree. We had done a lot of shrub trimming and left the stuff under the tree they were cutting, they chipped that up as well. The yard was well cleaned up after the cutting was done. The crew was friendly, hard working and quite professional. The yard looks much better!

Work was done very professionally by a crew that obviously worked well together. Hand signals were often needed between Pat Newcomb, in the cherry picker bucket, and the crew on the ground. Not a single misstep. Dropped sections of the tulip tree between shrubs without any damage. Made it look easy! I have video of the whole event.

They did an excellent job, very thorough. Pat had all his insurance certificates up front and had 2 professional teams working the job.

I called for the free estimate and they responded with a call that day and the estimate the next day. They gave me a price that day and told me an approximate time (2 to 3 weeks) when they could do the job. The 2 trees were in my front yard and growing about half way between the house and utility wires. They called the day before to make sure it was ok to come do the job. A crew of 3 with a boom truck arrived and took down the trees without incident. Made it look easy. Another man arrived with the stump grinder after the trees were down. I showed him all the other stumps to grind and he got to work while the others were grinding the trees, cleaning the yard and street. The grinding areas were raked and smoothed out. Everything took about 2 1/2 hours.

I couldn't be more pleased. I was very impressed that there were 5 men working on my job and lots of heavy equipment. They showed up promptly and formed a strategy to take down the oak tree while trying to safeguard my rhododendrons and flame azaleas that were beneath it. A cherry tree was also removed in order to get better access to some of the larger oak tree branches. Since the cherry tree was a "volunteer" and not in a good location, I was very happy with that decision. It took several hours to get the tree down (it was cut to fall down an embankment) and then the trunk and larger branches were cut into long lengths and moved to a corner near the bottom of the hill to be cut up into firewood by me or someone else. The trunk was more than 37 inches in diameter so it was no small task. The smallest branches were chipped and dumped into a mulch pile for my future use. The embankment was overgrown with weeds but it was cleared down to dirt and has never looked so good. The crew swept and blew the general area totally clean of debris. There was a little damage to a couple rhododendrons and one of my azaleas but overall, they did a great job of safeguarding my shrubs that were in a really bad location without using a crane at a much higher cost. I'd recommend Newcomb Tree Service without reservation to anybody.

Courteous, reasonable and seemed to care about what they were doing. The cut the tree up in small enough segments to easilty split for firewood.

Every single aspect of the entire process went very, very well. First, the estimate was provided by Pat at the same time as the initial visit. A copy of the company's insurance coverage was also provided. I obtained two other estimates and Newcomb was well below the other two. He then offered a discount if I did all three trees at once and then also offered to grind the stump of the largest one at no additional cost. The work was scheduled and Pat called the day before and advised that he would be there at 8:00 am. They showed up right on time, coordinated driveway access with my neighbor and began the work immediately. The job was done safely, in less than a day and they cleaned everything so well that it was difficult to tell that anybody had actually even been there. They were polite, wasted no time, directed street traffic safely, got in and out quickly.... very business-like. I would recommend them to anyone.

Newcomb Tree Service was referred to my by a contractor friend so I didn't even check them out on Angies list. When I did and saw their rating it was no surprise. In the past we've used all the big boys, Davie/Asplundh, but have never had a better experience that we did with Newcomb. We dealt with both partners, Pat and Tim, and both were true professionals. Their crew showed up in clean matching uniform shirts and handled themselves very professionally. My wife spoke to all of the individually and each of them was courteous and professional. They trimmed all our trees even carefully and worked around a very tight setting. They cleaned up everything and left it looking like they were never here. I couldn't have asked for more. The shocking point is that they were nearly the same price as a couple of fly-by-nighters, without insurance or bonding, who had given us quotes. So that's it. If you want a very professional job and a very competitive price, run don't walk to Newcomb Tree Service.

Pat was very responsive to our call, came out the same day and gave us a quote that was $1000 less than the nearest other quote we got, These guys showed up exactly on time and got to work quickly. They were professional and courteous. This was a tricky job as this huge tree had died and was leaning over our home. They made quick work of it and cleaned up afterwards. We highly recommend this company and will definitely call them again for tree work.

Everything went great! The crew was very nice and professional. They performed all work as requested and their cleanup of the tree debris and "mess" was even better than I had even expected! There was one problem. Somehow in the transfer of their internal work order, one of the trees that needed cutting was left off the work order. As I was not physically present at the site during the entire operation, I did not discover this until the next day when I inspected their work. I immediately contacted the owner of Newcomb's who was extremely apologetic and came out to confirm the omission. I am pretty sure that he pulled a crew off of another minor detail and they immediately responded and finished the requested work. They were even as friendly as the day before, having to redo their original work. I ma one of those consumers who listens and reads reviews of companies concerning their work and products. I do not pay much attention at all to a company's big bucks

They did a great job. They were prompt, courteous and worked diligently. Newcomb cleaned up the yard and left it in great condition. I would definitely use them again and will gladly refer them.

We have been using Newcomb Tree Service for three years now. They have cut down and removed dead trees from our yard, and have limbed up and trimmed trees. They are knowledgeable, professional, have the right equipment to do the work and do a great job cleaning up when done. We will be using them again in the next couple of weeks to take down another dead tree in our front yard. We would recommend them for any tree removal and trimming job. We feel they price their jobs very fair.

We received a recommendation from our neighbor who has used Newcomb for years. After a bad storm, they answered their phone on a Sunday, arrived the next day for an estimate, and performed the service on time and for less than the estimate. They really seem to know their business. They were extremely polite and professional.

When Newcomb Tree Service came out to remove the fallen trees and many logs we had, they asked if they could go over part of our property with their machinery BEFORE they took it on themselves to do that, very professional we think. They took care of the trees that were fallen, the logs, and the branches that were there, and then they even took some additional brush that was not even included in their estimate, and even cleaned up the area before they left. They were very professional and courteous, and took time to make sure we were happy with their work, we would definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

Pat Newcomb came out with an estimate the day I called. His estimate was $2000 below other estimates. I accepted his estimate yesterday and he was here today and completed the job today. His crew was very professional and they did an amazing job. It was a pleasure to find workmen of that calibre and to do business with a company of such high dignity. I cannot praise them enough.

We had a large tree right near our house that was leaning towards the house. They were able to trim the tree and bring it down without any damage to the house or surrounding trees. They also cut down two smaller trees, also leaning towards the house. They left the large pieces for us to cut up as firewood, and chipped the smaller branches (and left the mulch for us, as requested). It took about 3 hours for them to complete the work. We are very happy with the work and the results.
