Description of Work: They cut down 2 trees and cleaned up one that had fallen. Also warned me about 2 others that might need to go. One of the small trees the cut down got caught in the wind and hit my house. They assessed for damages and bent my gutter back into shape. They were very friendly.

Description of Work: I seem to have had all sorts of trouble getting someone out to cut down a few trees. But this organization showed up on time, was careful in its analysis, and made a commitment to take down the trees within a month. So far, so good.

Description of Work: Since we just moved into our home we wanted a thorough roof inspection. Newcomb offered a $199 thorough inspection and leak repair deal through Angie's List. We took them up on it and in a few days they arrived at the appointed time and did the inspection. They gave our roof a clean bill of health and answered a few questions we had about the roof. Great service; knowledgeable; fast. Will refer friends to them and use them if we need a new roof one day. However, according to them, that will be quite a while.

Description of Work: Newcomb did a good job. We have used several services over the years and it has been a while since we needed them. I am going to contact them in the very near future to do some special work since they have a bucket truck and don't mind cutting individual limbs to improve safety and protect vehicles. We thought they were easy to work with, professional, and did a complete job.

+ -1 moreThis is the second time we have used Newcomb. The last time involved tree and stump removal and clean up. On both occasions the crew has arrived on time, equipped with the necessary gear, and performed the job efficiently, taking care that the trees were left in a healthy condition. They made sure that the site was clean and all debris was hauled away. This time, because we were trimming some large and visible trees, they were very careful to consult with me to be sure that the trees looked as I wished when the job was completed. This crew went above and beyond the expected tree service - even chasing down a reluctant garbage man who wanted to use our job as an excuse to avoid picking up garbage on our street!
Description of Work: Extensive corrective tree trimming including the use of a cherry picker and climbing with spikes.

+ -1 moreI did not hire Newcomb because even though he had the best price and could perform the job the quickest, I was indeed worried about the quality and professionalism of the person who would be running the job. If the job was performed in the manner that the estimate was taken care of, then I was afraid that the job would be poorly done. The company I chose was more expensive, and took longer, however, the owner was much more knowledgeable about what needed to be done and about the trees, their health and care, in general.
Description of Work: Called for an estimate. Owner said he would be on vacation but would have someone on his staff come and give me an estimate. Crew member came out an gave a verbal estimate. I asked for a written one. He said that the boss would give me one when he returned. I called the following week and the owner emailed me an estimate but it wasn't correct. When I emailed back, he said not to worry about the estimate because whatever was agreed upon was what they would do. He said things got messed up because he was on vacation. He also told me that the person that was out doing the estimating would be running the job so I had nothing to worry about.

+ -1 moreI saw Newcomb Tree Service working in the neighborhood and asked for an estimate. Pat Newcomb came to my property and gave me several estimates on different jobs. After accepting one of the estimates he advised me what day he would start. He and his crew arrived as promised and worked quickly. I added several trees to the job and he added the total to the job. After the job was done he told me theat one of the trees was easier than he thought and he took a hundred dollars off the job. I will definitly be using them again in the future.

Description of Work: Newcomb Tree Service did an excellent job. I had four "High Liability" trees including a huge Silver Maple. The trees were in tight quarters and threatened both my and my neighbor's house. Newcomb showed up with the proper equipment to do the job safely. I am very happy with their work and highly recommend there services.

Description of Work: Wonderful. We had a very large oak that was on a hill behind the house. If it fell it would have crushed the house. They cut the tree and landed it up hill in precisely the spot that it needed to land. They have also in the past topped several trees for us, cut the limbs into firewood size logs and placed them into areas that we could later have split. Overall we have had a great experience with them. Buddy is a hero tree climber.

+ -1 moreCable truck was used to pull the trees via a pulley system on the mountain side. Climber person attached the cable up high in the tree. The trees were placed as to prevent errosion of the mountainside.
Description of Work: We had several dying Hemlock trees taken down which would have crashed our home from the mountainside behind our home. The trees were cut to fall exactly where we asked them to be placed. The crew at Newcombe did an expert job and I would highly recomend them for service.
