BEWARE ! From beginning to end this has been a horrible experience, starting with a rude receptionist. Thaddeus seemed very knowledgeable but that changed quickly. We received an $880 verbal estimate but once the invoice arrived the bill was $1072.00. The parts come much cheaper at LOWES but we went with Bay View because they were going to build a custom gate. After arriving with the materials three days late the next day we observed numerous defects; scratches, dents and markings. And then we discovered the gate was not built custom to fit our agreed size! The width was cut three inches too short. Okay. So we dug up the fence and moved it over to fit the gate. Only to find out he also made the gate too tall! We contacted him and he was very rude. We offered to split the cost of a new gate and give him back the standard sized gate they built but they refused. The owner of the company also refused to speak to us to make this right. With no other options, we had no recourse but to dispute the credit card charges and he has now threatened to take us to court. Terrible experience and all around nightmare ! They came out on arranged day and put in a wood fence along the lot line of my house. This was a picket fence approximately 120ft long. They put the fence in in one day but they worked a couple hours into dark to get it done. Next day the fence was crooked, loose, and uneven. I called and complained and they sent someone out but all they did was step around the posts to pack it down more. It loosend up again by next rain. Called back several times, never got a call back. Two years later I am constantly straitening the posts out. The fence has warped and fallen apart in two or three places. The gate is almost unusable. Don't use these people.
