1. Roof was found to be improperly flashed using old materials that should have been discarded in December, 2011 when the total roof replacement was done. 2. Areas to be flashed were not; improper flashing allowed water to enter the home through the roof. Contractor used the old flashing and not new as his contract stipulated. He didn't even put new felt on the roof, but ordered it (and I paid for it) and he may have taken it with him (possibly to another job). The best part was when he said that I had agreed that it was acceptable to use the old flashing. No. A total roof replacement means just that. It has to be properly flashed in all areas and it wasn't. 3. As of 12/1/14, there have been two leaks and none before RCB completed the project in December, 2011. 4. RCB was taken to small claims court and a judgement was placed on the owner (Leo Reitzel) in April, 2013. RCB refused to perform a leak repair in January, 2013. Owner indicated that he would have it fixed "by the end of the week" (when he came to assess the leak), but never showed up. 5. I had to hire another contractor to complete the proper flashing of the area from where the leak came. This was done at a cost to me. I went to court with RCB to retrieve this cost (and was successful) as he refused the opportunity to complete the warrantied work. While on the roof correcting the job done by RCB, the new contractor claimed "this is the worst job on a roof I have ever seen. He didn't use new felt paper and he reused old materials." 6. RCB claims on 12/1/14 that the company will not honor the 10 year workmanship warranty associated with their work unless a $75 "service fee" is paid to them. Again, if RCB is contacted to assess a problem on work THEY PERFORMED, they will not conduct the assessment unless they are given $75. RCB claims that this (and this alone) is the reason why he never came to do the work in January, 2013 (when, in court, the owner Leo Reitzel claimed "I don't know why I didn't show up; I was probably fishing." Who fishes in January?) He never mentioned a service fee in January, 2013. Even if he did, there is no way he should have been paid that fee and the judge agreed. 7. After two conversations with RCB on December 1, 2014 (both of which, RCB hung up on me), the owner repeatedly used profanities towards me (I have recorded and saved these calls) indicating "If it's my (his) fault (which I (he says) guarantee you it isn't), I will honor the warranty, but I won't get on the ladder unless you give me $75 because I can't trust you and you are a lying motherfu**er. If you were a valued customer and not a lying motherfu**er, I'd come over there and look at it for free." So, either there is or isn't a $75 fee. If he's paid in full and on time every time, that sounds like a "valued customer" to any contractor in the world. He even went as far as saying that it was MY responsibility to make sure areas on my roof were properly caulked. Again, a total roof replacement is exactly that. New flashing is to be used (it's even ON his contract). I paid him to properly roof my house; he failed. 8. The contractor had performed a total of 6 jobs for me (the last of which was in November, 2012). He only handed me a contract/bill for THREE of them (and I had 30 days to pay and was never late). All amounts for the other three jobs were paid to him, in full, on the day of completion. The contractor states that he is still owed money and that I "screwed" him. Well, if he sets the price and I pay him what he tells me to pay him, I'm not sure how I could possibly "screw him." To date, 4 of the six jobs he was responsible for at my home had to be corrected by someone else (the roof twice, my front porch balcony, the laundry tub drain, and my attic fan installation was done improperly and was a code violation). 9. He did shoddy work for me and took longer than promised to complete each task. 10. Buyer Beware: if you contract this company to do a job, they may do the following: reuse materials from other jobs (that someone has paid them for) and charge you for them (it's called "double-dipping" as Leo said to me), reuse materials from your own home that should be discarded, charge you money to come back and assess a problem on work they completed at your home, and subcontract work to other companies, not pay them, and have that company place a lien on your home. I have all of the documentation to back this up. Please note that (with the exception of one) the "good reviews" Leo has above are all AFTER a judgement was issued against him in April, 2013. The judge found him guilty and awarded me "triple damages." Good luck; Contact me at any time.

My mother was needing a new roof on her home. I contacted several local roofing companies. Each promising to call back to schedule time to come out to provide an estimate. After several days without any response, I looked in the yellow pages and found RCB Roofing. I called, spoke with a Leo, owner of RCB Roofing. He made appointment that day to come out the following day. He arrived at the time he indicated, provided an excellent estimate. He also indicated a start date, in the event we were going to use his services. We did in fact decide to go with RCB Roofing. He came, as promised, did an excellent job, did 100% clean up and came back to follow up. I as well as my mother was PLEASED with Leo and was very impressed that he out of all of the calls I made to other roofing companies, he was the only one to do as he promised. I have respect for him and his business ethics. If the need arises again for and roofing problems, RCB is the way we will go..

They were fine, but I did not use them though. I have like three shingles that are released on my roof. When he looked from the ground, he said that it looked like they had just stapled them down instead of nailing them down, and so he was going to go, back off and track them down. However, I did not hire them because I thought $200 was way too much to do the job. They were great! I like their promptness in responding to me, and coming out to talk. The guy was very honest. He just told me that he does not go up on a roof for less than $200. I probably would use them in the future if I need to have some major work done.

He was responsive to my call and came out right away the next day. I called on a Tuesday, he came Wednesday for the estimate, and the following Thursday he did the job. He even apologized for the delay. He found damage that he was not anticipating and let us know that there would be an additional charge. He kept the work under budget, cleaned up great, and the job looks beautiful. I would highly recommend RCB.

Great! Easy from start to finish and refreshing to have someone do what they promised!
Description of Work: Leo Reitzel of RCB Roofing did an outstanding job in replacing my roof. He was punctual and responsive. His knowledge of roofs and repairs was good and he helped me get an insurance payment for my roof when it had been denied before. His crew was great also. They did a very good job and cleaned up after the job! Thanks goodness you do not need roofs very often but I would definitely use them again and for different general contractor jobs as well.
