I would describe Tom Nicholas and his crew as ....extremely professional and detail oriented. The work area was consistently and continuously cleaned and prepped every single day to more then our satisfaction! All of our requests and ideas Tom listened carefully to and creatively adapted them to the work. The one critique we would note is some scheduling conflicts that popped up occassionly. It would result with us having to adjust and/or adapt our daily activities. The quality of their workmanship is excellent! We would not hesitate to recommend Nicholas Tile and Bath to anyone in need of their services!!!! We look forward to further working with Tom in the near future. We now have a Master Bathroom that we are very happy with and very proud to show off.

End-to-End the experience working with Tom was highly satisfactory. Tom was very prompt in his outreach for presales. He was very detailed in his quotes and answering our questions as we compared his quote with others. Tom and his crew were very punctual, very polite, and really cleaned up after themselves. Tom personally paid attention to the work done (in fact did a lot himself); did not seem to cut corners, and took pride in his work product to make sure there was a high standard of quality. After completing the project, Tom has maintained a high standard of post completion follow up well into 12-months after the project. We had a couple of minor tweaks to be rectified, he was prompt in his response, took full ownership to rectify and continues to check in. Very satisfied with the overall experience working with Tom, his presales approach, his actual work product; and his ongoing post completion follow up and service.

They have been working for about 7 weeks and today may be the last day. Their attention to detail is impressive. Tom is not going to accept shoddy work. He is going to make it right and that has been very important. Tom has also been very responsive with all of our concerns.

Truly excellent experience. We needed to remodel an old cheaply-fitted bathroom. The only thing we kept was the tub. Everything else Tom removed and replaced. This started with removing old fittings, taking the popcorn off the ceiling and prepping the walls. After painting, the new tile was laid and cabinets, sink, toilet, etc, fitted. Ten days from start to finish. Now we have a bathroom that's a pleasure to walk into. Tom and his guys truly want to make sure the customer is happy. They made great recommendations when we weren't sure about some details, and were very accommodating when we changed a couple of things mid-course. They left everything very clean and tidy each day.

We had to wait a couple of months for Tom and his team to be available but it was well worth it. It took them 3 weeks to complete the job and they did great. We are extremely happy with the result. This is the best contractor I've worked with. Great job all the way around. We had a very positive experience. Nicholas Tile was very professional, prompt and responsive. The workers were very clean and polite. Tom did an excellent job keeping us apprised of their progress daily. He was also very helpful in picking out tiles and fixture, and also the design. Even after the work was complete, Tom continues to be very responsive to any questions that we may we have. We were very happy with our experience and would certainly use this company again.

We can not say enough about Nicholas Tile & Bath. The work was thorough, professional, and at all times they had our desires at the center of the project. Tom asked for our wants, offered his suggestions and delivered on the final proposal. Most days they arrived for work after we left and were gone before we came home, trying not to impose on our time at home while still completing the job in a timely manner. They also left everyday after cleaning the entire work area. The whole job was done with the upmost professionalism. And sure the big stuff looked great and was right, but the proof is in the details and to us, that is where Tom and his crew excelled. Every little detail was done to perfection. The caulk, grout, paint...all done with care and detail. We have tried to find something less than perfect, and could not find anything. Growing up, it was always a friend or family member doing jobs like this, but after seeing what the end result can be after letting a professional crew like Nicholas Tile and Trim do the job, we can say that it was truly worth the small cost. It will be enjoyed for years to came. We are already looking for other projects Tom can do for us.!

Overall, we are very pleased. The project began with finishing out the basement shower stall so that we would have an operational shower while the big project upstairs was underway. This was important for us and Tom was happy to proceed in this manner. The basement shower is perfectly installed, exactly the way that we wanted it. We had discussed that part of the project with other contractors, and they all wanted to do it in a way that would reduce the size of the shower, which we did not want. Tom leveled, waterproofed and tiled the existing cinderblock stall, and installed exposed plumbing, so that the shower remained a nice size. The tile work is very precise and beautiful. The larger project came next -- the complete remodel of the main bathroom. Tom removed the existing floor (concrete), tub/shower insert, wallpaper, toilet, vanity. He then installed a larger walk-in shower with tile floor and tile walls, new plumbing, built a new floor and tiled it, installed a custom vanity, new toilet, new molding, and painted. We are very happy with the final results. We would describe Tom as a complete perfectionist. Everything is perfect and precise, and all of the lines are straight and plumb. (In an old house where nothing is!) At times his standards were higher than ours. He put extra effort into things that might not have bothered us. The project took much longer than forecast, largely because complications along the way meant that Tom needed to spend more time correcting underlying problems. I think it is fair to say that Tom is always going to come down on the side of doing something right, not on the side of sticking to a schedule. Communication broke down at times. Tom has definite opinions about décor and design, as well as installation. This was very helpful to us in some ways, but may have led us astray in some other, relatively minor ways. Our ideas for the custom vanity did not get communicated clearly, and we ended up with a vanity that was not what we had envisioned. It is beautifully constructed, living up to Tom?s high standards, but finish and color are not what we intended. The project actually got delayed considerably while Tom had the vanity builder redo it two or more times in an attempt to construct what he thought we meant. In the end this is a minor issue, but a reminder that communication takes effort in a project like this. The homeowner needs to take the time to pick color combinations and make sure that they are communicated clearly to the contractor. As for price, Tom was very competitive. He was not the lowest bid we received, but was far from the highest. The project did run over budget because of changes that we made along the way. One of the most important issues for us was hiring a contractor we could trust in our house when we were away. We got that feeling with Tom and with his employees later. They had a key to the house for a few months and we were comfortable with that. His crew is very clean ? they clean up every day. Several steps in the project produced large amounts of dust, but they did a great job of keeping it out of the rest of the house. I would hire Tom again and I would recommend him to others, especially those who want a tile job done perfectly.

Take the smallest and darkest bathroom (walls painted eggplant and ugly brown vinyl tiles on floor; too-large vanity and cast iron tub whose frame for shower doors made it dangerous to step high up and into an unsafe slippery surface; a tiny medicine cabinet stuck in the wall beside the tub (opposite the wall where the vanity was located), a door that had to be closed in order for one to get to the toilet or tub/shower, and finally, a floor that sloped down toward the tub. What you have is a depressing little room that you want to get in and out of as quickly as possible. Within two weeks, Tom, a true professional and master of many trades, and his excellent crew--Josh and Chris--transformed this horror of a room into one that is lighter, more spacious, and more beautiful than we could ever have imagined. Now you have a room that feels so luxurious you never want to leave it! We love the gorgeous matching tile in the shower and on the floor, and the Carerra marble perfectly matches the vanity top. The new toilet is taller than the old one (a real plus for older folks), the floor is now level, and Tom's perfect moving of the door so that it now opens out instead of in adds to the new spaciousness and convenience of this small bathroom. Tom, Josh, and Chris laid dropcloths every morning from the front door back to the bathroom and cleaned up so perfectly every day we could hardly believe they had been here working. This was such a first class professional job at a very reasonable cost that we would not hesitate to recommend Tom. We feel very fortunate that we found him on Angie's List.

We have used Tom for a number of projects this year and this was the final and largest project. Once again we are 100% satisfied with the work that was done. Tom is a perfectionist and goes to great lengths to make sure everything is exactly as we wanted it. He actually had higher expectations than we did!! My wife loves the little recessed foot hole built into the side of the shower wall that makes shaving her legs a breeze! When they were done I went over the room just to try and find something wrong and I could not find anything! Tom is very easy to work with. We made a number of changes along the way and he always listened to us and gave great advice. We are so comfortable with Tom that we let him pick out things that we were struggling with, like the accent tile and the color of the walls. His choices were great and really brought the room together. We cannot recommend Nicholas Tile & Bath high enough!! Thank your for our wonderful bathroom!!

I was impressed the minute he walked in the laundry room door. He immediately put down tarps along the entire walking area between the door and the job location. The job went very well from start to finish. He went the "extra mile" - the baseboards were painted, all caulked and just so nicely done. When the job was completed, everything was put back and left exactly the way he found it. I highly recommend this company for your redecorating needs.

Our initial introduction to Tom was when he came out to provide a quote to remodel our master standup shower. During this initial visit, Tom provided insight on new ideas and concepts that could be used for the project that other contractors did not. He took his time and was very thourough in the discussion. Once we decided to move forward with Tom, he was able to shuffle some other projects around and start our project within 2 days of saying "go". During the course of the project Tom and his assistant were very professional and courteous. Care was taken to ensure the house and floors were covered in drop cloths, cabinets and countertops were covered as well in the bathroom. Each day after work was completed they did a great job of cleaning up the debris and supplies. The work itself was very detailed and well done...corners were mitred for a perfect fit, tiles were bullnosed so we didnt have to get seperate bullnose pieces, and all the slate was installed evenly (this was no small feet given that the tiles were all different thickness). The work was so well done that when the glass installers showed up for their install, they could not believe the space that they were given to work with and the fact that it was so level and well done. Tom and his assistant were always punctual, worked around our schedule, followed up almost every day to make sure we were pleased with the progress of the project, and answered all our questions along the way. We are extrememly pleased with the end result.

I looked on Angie's list for someone that could help us figure out our problem with our shower. We always felt like something was wrong in our bathroom and we started to have leaks through our grout. I called Tom Nicholas and he was out to our house within a couple of hours to discuss the work. Tom was very knowledgeable and professional. Tom recommended that we remove the tiles from the shower to see if we had any damage from the leaks. I am so glad that we had all of the previous tile removed and did not just try to regrout. We found out that the shower had been leaking and that carpenter ants had made a home for themselves. Tom removed all of the damage and even redesigned the shower. Tom's work was spectacular and our bathroom looked great,. We had him completely remodel the bathroom to make sure we did not have any other issues with the tile. In addition to the tile work Tom arranged to have frameless shower doors installed along with granite counter tops. I was really looking for quality work and Tom really delivered. Tom's labor was about 6K and the rest was for materials, shower doors and counter tops. I felt very comfortable with his crew working in our house and they were always very prompt and professional. Awesome Job!

We were so impressed with Tom's work on our master bathroom we had him go ahead and tile our kitchen (490 sq ft), laundry room, pantry, half bath and entrance way. Tom removed the vinyl floor along with the subfloor that was on top of our subfloor for the vinyl. Tom did an Awesome job and I can not say enough good things about the quality of his work. Tom was very careful not to damage our hardwood floors and was able to level the transition between the different floor types. Tom and his crew were very professional and we were very pleased with his work.

We were working with another contractor to get a patio installed but they ended up not showing up and not calling for a couple of weeks. We did not have a contract so we asked Tom Nicholas to give us a quote since we were so happy with some work he had done for us in our kitchen and bathroom. Tom was very prompt on the job and worked in some of the hottest weather we had this summer without complaint. We love our patio and I am not sure what took us so long to have this work done. Tom did a great job and we were very pleased with his work. They excavated the area, set the stones and used dust material as a loose grout. Tom made a beautiful design and we are very happy with our patio.

Mr. Nicholas came to our home regarding installation of tile on a screen porch. He measured the area and recommended companies from which we could purchase quality tile. After we picked out tile, Mr. Nicholas gave us an estimate which we accepted. He began the work soon after, offered suggestions along the way, and asked questions about our preferences. His work was impeccable and he and his helper were neat, clean and courteous. The job was completed today but he intends to return tomorrow for a final cleaning. He kept in touch with us by phone throughout the process, and we were completely satisfied with the results. The price was what we expected, considering he did a lot of tile cutting in order to lay small inserts among the large tiles. We would highly recommend this company to other customers.

Tom Nicholas met with us at a convenient time to our schedule. He sent his quote in a timely manner via email. We liked that Nicholas Tle and Stone is a small company that does not charge for 'administrative' or 'project management' fees. He started the project after we decided on supplies and ordered some of the materials in order to save on cost. The project was completed a little longer than specified due to the water damage and some design decisions. We are very happy with the results. The bathroom looks great and is very functional as well!

Very well. Once we had an idea of what we wanted, I researched tile layers. Found Nicholas Tile on Angies List. The job takes longer than you think and longer than he thinks. Budget more time than he says. Things can only go wrong that require more time. For example, we decided to extend the pattern behind our refrigerator so that it did not have an awkward edge. This goes for most any project but it bears mentioning from an expectation setting perspective.

Job well done. Tom provided quality work and paid attention to evey detail when installing tile and building a laundry closet in my kitchen. Trim work, threasholds, cutting doors and installing a new storm door were all completed like a pro.
