I was there when the worker came to do the template for how the granite was to be cut. He said nothing about the cabinet for the sink and window above it not being centered. The previous sink and faucet had been centered with the kitchen window and I had NEVER noticed that the cabinet itself wasn't perfectly centered with the window.. Aspen centered the sink and faucet with the cabinet, making them several inches off center from the window. This is VERY noticeable, because when you walk in the room, you're looking eye-level and seeing the window and faucet at the same time. Aspen refuses to correct the problem, saying they were right in centering with the cabinet. Had I not been there so that the worker could have mentioned the problem of the cabinet and window not being aligned, I could maybe have understood their reasoning, but I didn't know until installation was complete that ANYTHING was off center. Had the person measuring and building the template told me the window and cabinet weren't centered and ASKED me which way I wanted it centered, I'd gladly have told him to center with the window. The previous sink and faucet had been centered with the window, and nothing appeared off center. For as much money as this cost, I certainly don't think it would have been asking too much for Aspen to have called me, and explained the problem and ASKED me how I wanted it handled. The other problem is the granite in the bathroom vanity which they installed. When I was purchasing material, Aspen told me they had a "remnant" piece that they could use for the vanity and since it was left over from another job, I wouldn't be charged as much. They never told me that it would be inferior quality granite. The back of the vanity has a big white spot in it---very noticeable. Also, there are rough places on the top which the installers came back to re-finish, but the roughness is still there and they told me they had done all they could to smooth it out. When I asked Aspen about this being replaced, they told me that I hadn't paid as much for this piece, implying that I should have known that it would not be quality granite. I will not have Aspen Tops to do work for me again.
