Island Creek Landscape

Daniel came out to provide the estimate, arriving promptly and following up by providing us with an estimate very quickly. He listened to what our plant preferences were (low maintenance and not too flashy) and sent us an estimate describing plant placement along with the exact names of the plants so I could google them to see if I liked them. He was able to squeeze us in while working on another job in the area and his guys completed the job in about 1/2 a day. The plants looked great and Daniel emailed us a watering schedule so we'd know how to take care of everything. I wanted to wait a couple months before posting this review to see how the plants have held up. So far so good. They're definitely feeling the effects of the high temperatures we've been having, but they're still holding their own. I would highly recommend Island Creek for anyone considering having some landscaping done.

We could not be happier with the finished product, the hardscape patio in particular is just stunning. This is our second or third project with Daniel and Island Creek. As per our other projects, Daniel's professionalism and concern for keeping his commitments is striking. As far as the timeline, Daniel said that he'd have the project done in about a week once he started, and that the start date depended on the weather, but that he'd schedule our project 4-5 weeks out. About 4 weeks later he called and said that he was ready to start, and sure enough the project was done by the end of the week.

Daniel arrived for the quote when he said he would and returned calls promptly, unlike other contractors. He was very professional in the quoting process, it was easy to tell they are professional landscapers. The project took two days, first day repaired the drainage (this is the first time in the past 6 years that the yard had no flooding) and the edgers were started the first day and were finished the following day. At the end of each day, they cleaned up the area where they were working - this was a surprise and truly shows their professionalism. We did have one minor problem with the stone work, but it was repaired the following day with no issues whatsoever. I would highly recommend them.

Daniel does everything right, from the initial quote to job completion. He is thorough, professional, and knowledgeable in his field. One of the things i liked the most about doing business with him was his attention to the job. He was at the job site almost every day at some point making sure everything was done properly. His crew was courteous, hard working, and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. Our project was a combination Hardscape/Landscape job. I received four quotes from highly rated Angie's List companies. Island Creek was priced near the high end but not the most expensive. Daniel's quote was the most detailed and organized and he provided good references. Once we selected his company, he started the job on time and finished within the time frame that he expected. I could not be more pleased with the outcome. The wall is fantastic. It completely transformed our front yard. We have a beautiful new wall which adds tremendous character and gained much needed lawn space for our children to play. I was also impressed with the new plantings. I have to admit that this part was not as high of a priority for me. I was very focused on the more labor intensive wall and concerned that it met my expectations. But after the plants went in the newly created beds, I could not believe how nice it all looked together. The newly sodded lawn was beautifully laid into place. Daniel was very helpful and knowledgeable in explaining to me how to care for it particularly in the first few weeks. I could not be more pleased with my experience with Daniel's company. As a side note, he is a true gentleman and an honest businessman. Well done! I would definitely use them again.

Daniel came out and we discussed various items we were looking to get fixed with the landscape and retaining wall. The existing landscaping plants were old and needed to be replaced. He came back with a proposal in a few days. They had a great price (compared to others) and we discussed the plant material that was going to be used. We made a few changes and he discussed the downside of a few plants we were thinking about using. Took a few weeks for us to get on the schedule which was not a problem for us. Came out on date promised and completed the majority of the work on that day. Daniel had a few questions on the day of the work and we worked through all the details. Came back out the next day to finish a few things. We added replacing some sod at the last minute and he said no problem. Also, we decided to reroute some drain pipes at the last minute, again, no problem. Really very easy to work with. Everything looks great. They did an excellent job. No problems or issues with any of the work. The retaining wall repair looks great. Landscaping is 1000% better than what we had. Everything flows great with the plan he provided. He even put pine needles in existing beds that he didn't work in. I would not hesitate to recommend this company. They do great work at a reasonable price.

I contacted 3 A rated Angie's List contractors to bid on my project. Daniel was, by far, the best of the group. He provided the most detailed and thorough quote and revised it a couple of times as we talked through the project and changes needed to be made. He made it all work within the budget I had. His crew showed up on-time every day and worked hard. The project took about a week from start to finish. The end result is that my backyard has been completely transformed! It is even better than I imagined it would be. I highly recommend Daniel to anyone looking for a landscape contractor and I would definitely use him again.

They did a wonderful job. We are still getting compliments on the change.

They are very good. Nothing is ever perfect, like perfect, perfect, but that doesn't seem to happen anymore. They are very good in terms of their service, professionalism and clean-up. I would be using them in the future as they would be coming back to do some more work.

Daniel was very responsive and attentive to detail in the planning phase of the project. Daniel was also accomodating with helping provide additional information to help clear HOA hurdles to get the project approved. When installation time came, the Island Creek team was very professional in their work. I could not be more pleeased with the finished product. The patio and steps look excellent. All of the shrubs that were planted were healthy, mature specimens. If I ever have any future landscaping needs, I would definitely use Island Creek again.

The shrubs were in very good condition and large for being 3 gallon plants. James arrived early on the scheduled date to accommodate our schedule. He installed the plants where we had markers set up. The whole process went very well. We have used Island Creek Landscape several times and have always been pleased by the work they do.

Daniel and his team were very detailed and very professional. We were quite happy with the quality of their work and we appreciated their patience and responsiveness when we had requested changes. We would definitely use them again and highly recommend them. In fact, our neighbors used them for assistance with paver work in their backyard and remarked at how impressed they were with Daniel's team's skills.

Grading, pavers and some landscaping made this area an asset rather than a spot in the yard. On time, on budget, polite and professional. I have used Island Creek in the past and their work is consistantly high in quality and value

They came for a quote on a retaining wall and some patio/stone work. We ended up only wanting them to complete the patio/stone work. When we asked them if they could complete the patio work we were told that it was too far to drive for them to complete the $500 project we needed. Really? Why are they even accepting quotes on areas that they are not willing to drive to?

These guys know what they are doing. They came out and worked steadily in intense heat, and got the job done on time. Proprietor Daniel Griffin is professional, fair, and willing to make adjustments along the way. Daniel is a pleasure to work with. He has a bachelors degree related to landscape and plants, so I badgered him with many general questions unrelated to the job I contracted for. He patiently answered my questions. The crew was as neat as with previous jobs. When Daniel arrived back for a final inspection, he decided to have the crew add an additional french drain to the higher edge of the yard (visualize a "Y" configuration with the left drain from this higher end connecting with the right end coming from the rock creek drain, exiting out the connection pipe for both sides). In addition, they built a soil channel along the sod line from this upper area hoping to "steer" runoff into the creek bed.

I contacted Island Creek Landscape for an estimate to replace our pool deck, which was old (rotting) wood and brick pavers. Daniel came out to talk about what I was looking for and got back to me with an estimate quickly. I got an estimate from two other companies and Island Creek's was the most reasonable, and his schedule estimate was more in line with what I needed. Daniel continued to work with us to make sure that we got the most for our money, while staying within our budget. He reworked the plan several times to that end. Work started as promised, and the entire crew was on time and very professional. Once we got into it we decided to add an additional area to the patio, and Daniel accommodated our requests with no problem. Daniel's design suggestions were perfect - he recommended a different pattern in one area and they were very careful about leveling and the visual effect around the pool. At one point, they realized that my pool was not square, and they took extra measures to make sure that once the pavers were laid, we would not be able to "see" the problem. Indeed, had he not told us about this and altered his design, we would have never known! The finished product is absolutely beautiful, and we are enjoying their work every day. The customer service, attention to detail and quality more than met my expectations and I will gladly recommend Island Creek Landscape to anyone, and we will certainly use them again in the future.

The job went very well. The guys did an a very good job distributing the mulch evenly. They also did an excellent job cleaning up the lawn and driveway area.

There was a low spot in the yard where water would accumulate after rainstorms. This water was dangerously close to our house foundation and crawlspace. Daniel came out and assessed the situation and offered a solution which involved regrading and the installation of a french drain system. We do not live very close to Island Creek and Daniel was willing to come out a second time just prior to work beginning to answer some additional questions and concerns and to further assess my situation. Installation was quick and efficient. Since installation, we have had several big rainstorms and the french drain system and solution Daniel recommended has worked great. We are very pleased and would call Island Creek with any future drainage problems.

Daniel and crew (newest member Ron) were fabulous. We had used Island Creek prior year for pavers in the same yard. Daniel has surrounded himself with talented and knowledgeable men who work extremely well together. The first day involved "demolition" and dry creek stones/boulder installation. Top soil placement was so precise; raked carefully to achieve the "just right" level of height and smoothness. The second day was sod installation. Again, each roll was placed with precision, and, where necessary, "tacked" down. At the end of the job, the crew hosed down the entire driveway to remove leftover topsoil. Ron even blew debris off the street where their trucks had parked. **Special Mention: Approximately three weeks after completion, we noticed a small pooling of water in one of the areas. This area was no bigger than a dinner plate. Daniel came out and agreed to build up this area with more topsoil and install new sod. This dedication to service after job completion is why we indeed recommend Island Creek!

Daniel picked out lights that look fantastic in our front yard. Installed on date agreed to...price was reasonable but I didn't shop around.

We had an area in our backyard where water collected during a rain and there was no way for water to run off. We called Island Creek and Daniel Griffin recommend a solution and gave us a reasonable estimate for the work. The crew arrived when scheduled and Mr. Griffin made sure they did the work as we discussed.

Daniel and his brother James are the best! They are both honest, straight-forward and always were responsive to my questions. James is highly skilled in regrading and Daniel and the crew worked hard in the cold nasty weather to plant and seed. I plan on using them again and wouldn't even consider anyone else!

I had a good experience with them. They were nice, considerate, and they showed up when they were supposed to. They got their estimate back to me within a week or two and I am very happy with them.

We had flooding issues in our driveway and parts of our backyard. Daniel was very knowledgeable and thorough and discussed the solution in detail. His crew was courteous and punctual and finished the work in 2 days. They also cleaned up and did a nice landscaping job. It was nice to see our backyard and driveway no longer flooded and a mud pit! The job was immediately put through its paces by the recent Winter storm and held up nicely.
