Chad was found by my contractor to cut down a tree, grind stump and remove roots on a small tree in my back yard. He brought a crew of about 4 and they got to work quickly and got the job seemingly done. when i told him I was leaving, he said fine, they'd be done soon. when I returned and they were gone, the stump seemed to be ground but the roots were all still there, extending on my neighbors lawn. We specifically discussed that stump grinding and root removal were part of the deal in pricing. When I then had folks come to work on my fence right there, they showed me that only the top of the stump had been ground (to give the appearance of shavings, etc) but the stump was still present. We had to move the gate we were installing around the stump. I've spent the last month and a half trying to get in touch with Chad to remove the stumps. His assistant Megan was VERY responsive via email initially , apologizing and saying they'd get there by the end of the week to complete the job. That never happened. She then told me to call his cell. I left 3 messages without reponse. When I emailed her back she just said he was very busy and I might have to try a few times.I'm infuriated as I paid for a service that wasn't completed. I've learned a lesson not to ever pay before I see the job complete. I had already told him I would refer my whole Dilworth street as we have so many trees and need work on them regularly. Needless to say, that will NOT be happening. A reason I suppose to pay more for bigger, more reputable companies. I will update this if and when they ever get back with me and do the work, but I wont be holding my breath!
