Gas Logs & Udder Things

Just had a wood burning insert installed in my cabin. The team was prompt, helpful and very professional. Patty, particularly, stayed in touch by email and phone. Since I do not live in the area, all our communication was virtual. She did her best to get me quotes quickly and answered all my questions. Danny is a very busy guy working in the area. He is knowledgable of codes and structure. He was prompt. He has an easy manner and relates well with people--yet stays on task to get the job done. Somehow they forgot a piece of the door. They returned the next day to correct. Now waiting on the fall weather to fire it up and enjoy the warmth. Thanks to Gas Logs. I will use again.

It was fine. The price was reasonable. We checked around.They were professional and good. They did it right from the very beginning. It worked the first time and it has worked ever since then.

Arrived on time. Very professional. Explained everything. Had to come back for minor issue. House is after all 70+ years old.

The experience with the representatives of this company was great. They performed the installation exactly how we expected it and at the appointed time.

Now to the nitty gritty! Danny Bailey and his helper arrived a little after the scheduled time. They installed the 1st of 2 propane tanks beside our garage and ran the propane line from the garage around the house to our living room. This was done with no problems. Next they assembled and installed the gas log stove on a tiled area in the corner of our living room. The problem came with the drilling of the hole for the vent pipe through the logs -- Bailey's drill and/or reciprocating saw was not sharp enough to complete the cut. Fortunately, we had the necessary tools in our garage to complete the work. The next problem was the vent pipe pieces were mismatched - should have all been black, but he didn't have enough black pipe - so he installed one piece that was aluminum colored. My husband specified that he wanted a blower and a remote thermostat when he originally asked for the quote on the price. So, boy was I surprised when I asked about these the day of the install. Danny Bailey said: and quot;Sorry, but that is not included in this invoice and installand quot;. We ended up ordering those two items separately and paid the additional money. Bailey came out 5 days later to install the blower and the thermostat remote. Everything seemed to be working okay, but a few days later I noticed that the fan on the blower was not shutting off after the stove cooled down. I called Gas Logs and Udder Things about this problem and was told that I probably had a switch in the wrong position, but they gave no help on which switch and what setting. After playing with all three switches in all possible combinations to no avail, I called back and related my problem. I never got a call back from them regarding this problem and just lived with it by unplugging the blower when needed. This year the thermo sensor for the blower quite working and when I replaced it with a new thermo sensor, I was looking at the wiring diagram for the blower and discovered the reason why the blower never would shut off. Danny Bailey had wired it incorrectly when he installed it on the gas log stove. So, bottom line -- No I would not use him again or recommend him to anyone.

Danny installed a small gas fireplace and the propane tank at our house. It was a complete turnkey project where he needed to add the tank, gas lines and install the fireplace. Danny and his helper did a very nice job. They kept the work area clean and he took the time to get the fireplace located in the best place. The job required him to drill a hole in the floor and run the gas line under the house. After the line was run, they caulked around the openings. He even did the work on a Saturday in order to work with our schedule. Very nice job and a pleasure to work with.
