+ 1 moreThis nearly year long remodelling effort basically involved nearly gutting the entire home, while at the same time taking painstaking measures to refurbish and preserve the historic features of the house. Cornerstone Building Company is well known and respected for the thought and care it takes in preserving homes in the historic district iof Southport, NC and well as for its expertise iand creativity in remodelling newer structures.
Description of Work: Conrnerstone Building Company preformed an extensive remodeling of a home for us which dates back to 1826. The remodeling effort included removing a brick exterior that had been added in the 1960's to what was a charming clapboard riverside cottage. Cornerstone then repaired the underlying clapboard, added extensive wrap-around porches, a new metal roof, a new master suite and kitchen, as well as completely remodelling 4 bathrooms. Interior sheetrock and oak flooring applied in the 1940's was removed and underlying beadboard and heartpine floors were refurbished.
