Glass Doctor of Moore & Montgomery Counties

Description of Work: I called USAA for repair of a broken windshield. Since there was an authorized repair company near home, I went with Glass Doctor in Southern Pines, instead of Safelite. I called them, explained I wanted an OEM windshield for my Lexus, and was told they'd call back that afternoon (called early in morning). Three days later, they had not called back, and I needed the windshield fixed. The receptionist said the manager had just left and said he would have to pay $1700.00 for the windshield and was not going to do the work. I asked why no one had called, and she didn't know what to say. I asked why he wouldn't do the work, since I was the one who would have to pay for the excess charges for an original manufacturer's windshield, once I knew the cost and approved the work. She said she didn't know. I asked to speak to him, and she said he wouldn't be back til next Wednesday, that he had just "left" with no explanation. I told her I was going to cancel the work with them, as they are unresponsive to customers, and don't have the courtesy to call and let them know what's going on. I then called USAA, asked for Safelite, and was told they could have someone out today, if they had an OEM in stock or could get one. I had a previous good experience with Safelite and hope they'll be as responsive as before.
