I would not hire this contractor for any work unless you just want him to take your money and never show up
Description of Work: I live in Moyock North Carolina. Started a Sunroom Enclosure 10 weeks ago and only have studs standing. Have repeatively called and have been made all kind of promises. This contractor is done and has my money

. I had some wood left over from when he laid the flooring in 2012. He came out about a week ago and we pulled it out of the attic and put it into the bedrooms. Today he and his son Rob, came out at 8:30 and set up the saws outside. They went into the bedroom that was the worst and ripped out the problem area and refitted wood into it. They clean up the dust and wood chips after they were finished. He fixed both problems in each of the bedrooms. Now the floors look so much better. The wood came from Lumber Liquidators. They sold me Hickory, but it never came in. Then they offered me this Red Oak at a better price because the Hickory had not come in. I reluctantly took the offer. I wanted the Hickory. Anyway, Ron needed to get the floors laid because he had a job to go to in Kentucky. I don't believe the wood had enough time to acclimate to the house and it buckled in those places. The other rooms were fine; just those two rooms were effected. Anyway, he took care of it at no charge to me.
Description of Work: Ron and Rob came back today and fixed a problem that I had from work they did in 2012. The hardwood floor in my Master and the first bedroom had tenting issues. Some people might call it buckling. Anyway, I had been asking him to fix it since 2012. We went back and forth about it. He had been ill and hospitalized. Today I am very happy that is has been taken care of. I don't know why we had the problem with the floor and neither does he. But, it has been fixed and I am pleased. I had put an F on the review that I gave him and I want to give an A today because he did come fix my problem at no charge.

Ron and his crew do great work if, and when, you can get them out to your property. DO NOT pay past the initial deposit requested if you want them to finish the job. They may not even finish it with a little money still owed. Lots of excuses why they can't work. But again, they do a great job when, and if, they show up!

Ron came out to my house on 08/10/14. I told him I wanted my patio screened-in. I gave him the details. He did an inventory on what was to be done. He gave me a price I thought was reasonable. I gave him a deposit of $2500.00. Ron seem to know his business and was a very nice gentleman. That was the last time I saw him. He never called. I was able to contact him after several attempts. When I did get up with him he always had an excuse for not doing the job. I finally asked him to return my money. Have not heard anything. I went to the magistrate's office yesterday to file criminal charges. Also, the address he provided on Angie's List is not the one on his contract.
Description of Work: He did nothing except take my money.

Description of Work: R and R construction did very good work when they showed up for the job. They built our shed and did some inside restoration work on our home. Again, the quality of work is very good. However, they left work unfinished as well as taking a deposit for additional work they never performed. We are going to court in two weeks.

DO NOT contact or hire this contractor!!! He is a THIEF. Ron Lee agreed to complete a bathroom renovation project for me back in APR 2014. He requested a deposit, which I paid. After receiving my deposit, and cashing the check, he then continually put me off, finally stating to me in JUL 2014 that he would not be able to complete my project after all. He claimed multiple times that he promised to return my deposit to me, but has failed to do so and is now no longer communicating with me. He did not complete the job he agreed to do and he has stolen my deposit money. Beside the fact that he is a criminal, he completely lacks any decent customer service skills - I had to initiate every contact with him; he never kept in contact with me. After a couple months of him not showing and continually putting me off, I requested to see him at a job site he claimed he was at in Virginia Beach and he refused to allow me to come see him there. I can only gather from his refusal to allow me to meet with him on a job, his inability to properly manage his time and funding, and his unwillingness to repay me MY money, he is a thief and a criminal. Perhaps he preyed on me because I am a woman. Perhaps he has no respect for Military veterans, which I also am. Such a complete and utter disappointment. Oh, and I'd really like my money back, Ron. My advice to any Angie's List Members - Do NOT get a false sense of security when using this service. Just because someone is on Angie's List does not mean they are decent people. It doesn't cost a lot to become a member; anyone can pay the fee and write whatever they want about a business or individual. I learned the hard way that it's best to actually get out and TALK to your neighbors - don't just read what your neighbors might be posting about a business or individual on a web site. Get out and really talk to people, real people. By doing so I was able to find an honest man and honest, good sub contractors to complete my bathroom renovation. None of them were on Angie's List. All of them were "word of mouth". If you are new to an area, like I was, and use Angie's List to facilitate finding decent businesses or individuals, be cautious.

I needed a shed built because i was having my parents coming to live with me and needed room for storage, while he was in the middle of building the shed I had to call him and ask if he could stop and build me a ramp ASAP because that's the only way I could get my mother in the house, he stopped what he was doing and built that ramp in 2 hours for me. then came in the next few days to finish the shed everything came out perfect i was very pleased.

Some of Ron's work was adequate yet his attention to detail was lacking. I will not use him in the future. He initally installed the center accent tiles in our kitchen lower that the surrounding tiles and was going to keep them that way until I removed them and stated that I was not happy with them. The he tiled our shower an the floor slope is wrong and does not drain to the drain and the seating area is sloped to the back and has to be dried after every shower. The corner grout is cracking and I had to caulk it myself to prevent mold issues. Ron was made aware, yet never fixed.

Initially, my wife and I had decided to find someone to tile the floors in the kitchen and guest bathroom and also wrap our wooden storage shed in vinyl. Replacing the seasonal sunroom with a year round liveable room was a project for another time. We contacted R & R Construction due to their favorable ratings and service area they worked in. The owner, Ron Lee, came to our home and listened to our plans. He was very knowledgable and extremely personable. When I happened to mention that some day we would like to have a four season sunroom, he took the time to detail ( with absolutely no pressure ) how they have built many such rooms and backed it up with photos of his work. We were very impressed and decided on the spot to include the sunroom construction. Due to prior commitments, R & R could not begin for about two weeks. During this time we wondered if everything we had heard from Ron was too good to be true and we would again be disapointed by constuction people. Ron kept in touch during those two weeks which we really appreciated. The tile work and the vinyl wrapping of the shed were completed and we were truly impressed by the quality of their work. Now came time for the big project. Although we had looked at pictures in magazines and sunroom design books, we still did not have a clear vision as to what would look good. We left that to Ron, his son Robert, George and the rest of the crew. What we hoped for was decent work. What we got was expert craftsmanship to the highest degree. This room rivals any sunroom we saw in the books and it reminds us of sunrooms we have seen in luxurious beach homes in Key West and the Outer Banks. There is no words to express our happiness with our new sunroom. From the inlayed pine ceiling to the beautiful tiled floor to the detailed trim work, this is truly a work of art that we will enjoy for years to come.
Description of Work: Removed seasonal sunroom and added a four seasons sunroom with outdoor lighting. Tiled kitchen and upstairs guest bathroom. Wrapped and trimmed large wooden storage shed with vinyl. Installed five new outside light fixtures. Installed trim around top of living room walls. Accomplished several minor repairs and upgrades to home.

*******Please see above update. ****Update***** He has not contacted me back so far with a date to fix my concerns. I called R&R Construction for painting. Ron made and appointment with me and came out that next day as promised and on time. I told him I wanted some painting done, but really I wanted more than that. He suggested we go room-by-room, so we did. We started at the back of the house in my master bath. He made notes as we went through each room. He said he would get back with me the next day with a total for each room and a grand total if I decide to do everything. He did get back with me as promised, but, it was that same day later in the evening. He asked if he could come over and go over everything the next day. I agreed. I was impressed with the breakdown of pricing and I agreed to have it all done. I payed a deposit of $4500 and Ron and Rob got started the following week. They moved me out of my master bedroom and into a spare room. They started in the master bath and worked all around me. When the wood came in Ron picked it up and laid the master bed room first. They moved me back into the master and continued to lay the wood. Ron and his son Rob and a helper named George worked everyday in my house from 4 September until 13 October. I gave them my key and a garage door opener. I kept the garage free so they could set-up there work space in the garage. He kept his trailer parked at my house until the job was completed on 13 October 2012. Now all the depressing dark stained wood is gone and white molding trims my interior. It looks fantastic. The hardwood floors are beautiful and I feel great when I come home from work. MONEY WELL SPENT!
Description of Work: Update 3 Nov 2014 Ron has not set a date with me as promised to fix the problems. My hardwood floors are still the worse concern I have. If I want them fixed I guess it means me having to hire someone else to come in and fix them. I paid him and I want him to fix the problems. ****Update***** Ron text me 10 Sep 2014 and asked me my schedule so he could arrange a time to come fix my concerns. I text him back with my schedule. *******UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW******* I have left my original review because that is the way I felt when the work was finished. However, I have had problems with the hardwood floors, crown molding and screens. The hardwood is tenting in 4 places. (The wood that I had orginally picked out at Lumber LIquidators did not come in on Ron's schedule. He was pressed for time and told me I needed to pick a different hardwood. I did, regretfully, but I wanted him to finish the job before leaving town to go to his other job. So, I settled with another hardwood. He only allowed it 3 days to lay in the house and acclimate to the temperature but assured me that all would be fine.) When I noticed it I immediately called Ron. He said he would come out and take a look. He didn't. I tried calling him back and could not reach him. I called his son and told him that I had to talk with him. He did get back with me. He finally came out Summer of 2013. He told me he could fix the problem. I explained to him that I had, Brad from Pestar come out September 12, 2013 and check the moisture levels in the crawl space. I have documentation that everything was fine under there. Ron asked me to wait until Winter and see if the buckling would go down. I told him I would. So, I did. It did not go down and again I found myself trying to get him back out to fix the problems. Constant asking for him to fix it and him telling me he would be out, but he never showed or called to say why. I am to the end with him. He promised September 5, 2014 that he would come out over the weekend. I text him and asked him if he forgot about me and he said no. Well, again he did not come out and fix the floors. So, I am writing this review. Also, there is a gap in the floor in various places, but the most noticeable one is in front of my couch. And, the screens that he made for me didn't fit--he also promised to fix them April 18, 2013. Did not fix them. Also, the crown molding in my master bedroom is coming away from the ceiling. I paid him on time and I paid all that I owed him. NO RUN AROUND THERE! NO PROFESSIONALISM after the sale. BUYER BEWARE! I will be happy to change this review if he will fix the problems.......... Master bath ceramic shower, fixture kit, cabinet top replaced, new faucet, knockdown plaster, painting, crown molding, ceramic floor, new toilet, new lighting. Bad plumbing in shower drain was replaced and fixed before laying ceramic tile in master shower. New white blinds were hung for master bedroom. Then I hung all the rest throughout the house. All brown stained molding throughout entire house removed and replaced with white molding. All brown core door doors removed and replaced with white pre-hung six panel doors, 11 in all, new brushed nickel door knobs and hinges. Carpet was removed in master and spare bedroom, cheap, fake hardwood- like flooring removed in spare bedroom. Replace all bedrooms with Red Oak Hardwood, down the hall and into the living room. New white closet panel doors for each spare bedroom. Master bedroom, knockdown plaster, painted, crown molding, cabinets painted. Natural wood paneling 1/2 way up the walls down the hall and around through the living room to the fire place. Crown around the fireplace. New toilet for the hall bath and new lighting. Knockdown plaster in the living room and painted. Each passage way had all the brown stained molding removed and new white molding replaced it. Kitchen ceiling popcorn scraped off and replaced with knockdown plaster, ceiling painted, three new brush nickel lights, knockdown plaster on the walls and painted. Utility room cabinets painted white. Laminate was removed from living room and was used to lay the floor in the finished room over the garage. Carpet was removed on the steps that led to the FROG and that was on the floor. Garage was painted and baseboards were added. Mudd room painted and cabinets in mudd room were painted white. 3 Exterior doors on back side of house were sanded and painted. 3 Screens were made for the exterior doors for summer use. All stops for 14 new windows were finished and trimmed out in white with all other molding.

These guys did an awesome job! I was a little nervous about letting them in my house while I was at work but they came highly recommened from friends and I really wanted to get this stuff done. They started with wrapping the outside of the house and then cut down some trees out back. Then I had them give me an estimate on some tile for the hallway and kitchen. It just kept going from there. They were here working on and off for a few months.
Description of Work: *I had ceramic tile done in my Kitchen, Hallway, and both Bathrooms. *Wallpaper removed in the Kitchen and Hallway*Master Bath completely gutted and rebuilt which included replacing the rotted floor, removing the old shower unit, moving plumbing to a different wall, and building me a new shower.*Replaced shower unit in spare bath with ceramic tile*I also had the outside of the house "wrapped" to cover the wood trim with aluminum siding.
