In anticipation of an upcoming winter storm, we purchased a new portable generator. Our home had been previously wired for a whole house plug but we had not needed it until now. I was unable to locate a custom length power cable to run from my generator to the house plug and a friend recommended seeing if David Bundy might be able to assist. I pulled up to his home business location and went to his shop where David was installing a standby generator for his house and shop. David stopped what he was doing (he was prepping for the same storm as I was) and immediately assisted me. He knew exactly what I needed based off of my poor description and cell phone photo and looked around his shop supply, but just barely didnt have enough plugs to make my custom length cord. He called one of his suppliers (City Electric in Elizabeth City) and checked to see if they had the parts, which they did. He was also able to get me a very fair price on the parts. He then explained to me what I needed to do to make the cord with the parts, gave me directions to the supllier, and offered to help further if I ran into any problems. I was able to finish up the cord just as the first flkes began to fall. We ended up not needing the generator this go around, but Davids willingness to help and go out of the way really made an impression on me. The next time I need an electrician, David Bundy will be my first call!
