We gave DeWitt the building floor plan, building address, and the written scope of work. He took care of everything else we needed from his company. He took samples, had the lab work done, prepared a detailed report, stated the locations and quantity of asbestos to be removed, and stated the colors and locations of the lead based paint to be removed. We then included his information in the bid package when we sent the bid package to the renovation contractors. DeWitt did his work efficiently. We assigned him the project and he had the final report completed way ahead of schedule. DeWitt has years of experience and all the proper certifications. We have hired ACES before and this company will continue to be our and quot;go toand quot; asbestos and lead based paint testing company in the future.
Description of Work: Allied Consulting & Environmental Services (ACES) performed asbestos testing and lead based paint testing for a renovation project by our architectural firm. DeWitt with ACES went to the building and took samples, did the asbestos and lead based paint testing, and wrote a report. The report tells where the asbestos and lead based paint is, states the approximate quantity of asbestos, and includes information about abatement and the applicable regulations. We have used ACES before and DeWitt is always very professional and gets his work done quickly. ACES is not an abatement contractor. DeWitt can prepare the asbestos removal plan and specifications, get bids, hire a contractor, and manage the abatement. We intentionally hire ACES because they are not an abatement contractor, so they do not have any incentive to find asbestos or lead based paint. The price was very competitve and I consider it a good value. The amount our firm pays DeWitt is much higher than what a home owner would pay for normal sampling and testing services and a report because we require additional information and bid related services.
