I am writing this review during the Feb 06, 2020 Nor'easter. Electricity has been out for almost 6 hours, and the rain isn't letting up. Luckily for me M.R. Stoner Electric finished my stand-by generator installation a week ago! 'Nailed it!!! I live in a rural area and am on well water. I've grown tired of filling up the garden tub every time a storm comes, and breaking out the coleman lanterns. I'm over setting up the portable generator and stringing extension cords throughout the house. I asked M.R. Stoner for advice and they came out to my house to assess my needs. I have 2 internal breaker panels and they recommended a 22KW Generac generator and 2 Smart Switches. They installed load shedding for my downstairs and upstairs Geothermal heat pumps. The quote they provided was very reasonable and exceeded my expectations. The process took about 2 weeks from start to finish and M.R. Stoner handled everything - design, permits, scheduling gas and inspections, scheduling Duke Energy, installation of course, and testing. The installation crew was outstanding - they were polite and punctual and explained everything they were doing. When I asked if the generator could be moved 1 foot closer to the house - after they trenched, laid gravel, and set the generator, they moved it without complaint. If I had any questions they were just a phone call away, always answered, and always found Elaine for me when I asked specifically for her. I can't recommend M.R. Stoner highly enough. I wish I could underline and bold that - they were awesome. Power is out all over our little country neighborhood, but not at my house. I'm happy and the rest of the family is high fiveing this decision.

The company showed up when they said they would and accomplished the work in one day. There was a problem with the drop down circuit, it was incorrectly wired and was only outputting 120V. When discovered I called and someone was out within 2 hours to fix it. The crews were all courteous and professional. I would;d give them work again.

I was trying to replace my front porch light fixture by myself and ran into issues with a stripped screw. I wanted to see how much it would cost to get help to replace the light fixture. M.R. Stoner was good about calling me back quickly after doing a search here on Angie's List (within an hour). However, I wanted to warn other people that they charge $75 just to come to the house and see the job and give you a quote. I told them not to come and I will go with someone else. The lady that I spoke with was not even willing to find out more details on what I need to give me a price range, her only response was that they have to come out there and charge $75 for me to get a quote. I understand that they couldn't give me a firm quote without coming out as they may find something during the job that changes the price, but it seems reasonable to ask for a price range (under $100, a few $100, closer to $1K, etc). They may do great work, just be ready to pay them $75 if they come to your house whether you end up having them do the job or not.

There was a short delay in actual installation due to arrival of generator from supplier, but once received everything went per schedule and system is up and operational. Office and on-site personnel were friendly, courteous and helpful.

They were great and I would highly recommend them to family and friends. They also arrived on time.

M. R. Stoner Electric is terrific! I'm sure many of you know how frustrating it is to call for electrical service of any kind and get a voice mail recording. You leave your name/number/description of problem and might receive a call back. I live in a rural area of my county which compounds the problem of getting a reputable electrician to make a house call. Well, much to my delight, the first time I called M. R. Stoner Electric, a friendly and professional person answered the phone, answered all my questions, and scheduled an appointment. The electricians arrived on time in a service truck clearly marked with their company logo. The service person was professional, dressed in a uniform and wore booties to protect my floors. In two separate service calls, I was completely comfortable having these folks in my home. And, all my questions were answered. I highly recommend M. R. Stoner Electric for all your electrical needs. This is a family run business. The pride they take in providing excellent customer service can be hard to come by these days.

I have used MR Stoner Electric for over 20 years! They have serviced my home, my business, and rental properties. The staff are wonderful, always punctual and respectful. I have never called them that I did not get immediate response. There is always follow-up to ensure I was satisfied. The employees at my office and the tenants of rental property have always been pleased and commented to me their extreme satisfaction. I recommend this company for any electrical need! MR Stoner was extremely professional and showed years of experience by giving us great suggestions to save money, and recommending good quality fixtures. The electricians were very friendly, CLEAN, and treated our home with the highest level of respect.

It went horrible. They were late, talked on their phones most of the day, played with the truck and then left to go get more hydraulic fluid since they played with the truck so much they ran out. Pole is not steady, line is too low and they would not hook up the outside light. When we tried to talk to them about this they said it was our fault and that we should have managed their workers better. Just save yourself a lot of trouble and money and call anyone but them. Horrible company!! The most upsetting thing is this was done at my 92 year old grandmother's house and they had to cut the power to do the work. They left a 92 year old Alzheimer's patient in the dark for over 5 hours and did not care. We have since had to hire someone else to fix their work. I have never in my life been so unhappy with a company or a job.

It was good!

After checking all other possibilities, he determined that electronics in light unit were bad. He was up front that even if parts could be located, repairs would cost more than Installing a new fan/light. He removed the light unit, ensured all connecting wiring was properly secured, and replaced the cover. It was the best possible result based on the conditions.

The technician named Sid was terrific. I would recommend with no hesitation.

Fortunately, I have not had need of their services recently. See above for comments.

Horrible, Horrible craftsmanship. Would never recommend them. It took 3 ment to hang a light bulb...as the old joke goes...and this is so true with Stoner Electric.
