Fabulous work and workman. Shane Meeks, owner/operator of S & J Residential Services, (after a Father to Father text introduction to our daughter), independently called her and made arrangements to go to her condo to install a microwave above her stove so that she could cook. She had had the microwave for some time and didn't know how she was going to get it installed, especially since it was too heavy for her to even lift. (Apparently her old microwave had died some time ago.) Her parents in Pittsburgh, PA, were of no help. Fortunately, I found Shane on Angie's list and asked for a favor. Despite his busy schedule, he immediately stopped over and took care of it, as well as looking into a number of other matters around the condo. The pictures that she sent me and the "thanks" were tremendous. I got a lot of credit for Shane's "... very courteous, efficient and proactive ..." work. Thank you.

The work was thorough, Kevin cleaned up after himself at each repair site, and I was completely satisfied. Will totally hire S & J Residential again the next time I need help with handyman work!

He does not do the work himself like he says. He brings people in, some he just picks up off of the street to perform work. Only one of the guys he brought in did the only work that was actually completed. Not everything got done that needed to be done. This whole thing is a hosing. This has been a nightmare! I feel like I was hooked, he gave me a reasonable price in the beginning and then raised the price in the middle.

Had an appointment scheduled for early 7:30am. After 20 minutes go by around 7:45 I text the handy man and he has ZERO recollection that we had an appointment or even spoke(we spoke for about 20 mins on phone when appointment was scheduled. He denied ever speaking to me and just kept saying he didn't have a text for our appointment? I sent him a screenshot of the day and time we spoke which was the Thursday before. I figured someone with a good rating on Angie list would be more professional and organized. Guess I was wrong. Just my experience I hope you have a better one!

Would NEVER recommend. It is unprofessional to leave anyone waiting.

Shane was a true professional. I called him because I needed to mount a large and heavy mirror which had been mounted by someone else before in a very unstable way. He was able to come right away and fix the problem. He immediately got to work, mounted it correctly, and patched up the holes in the wall from the previous mounting job. He was very courteous and neat, and he cleaned up the workspace before leaving. I will use him again in the future as the need arises.

Shane is amazing. Highly professional, efficient and clean. He came to my house last week to take a look at the work I needed done and sent me an estimate within the next few days. He was at my house two days later to start and finish the job. All in all it was at most five days and I really appreciated that. He and his worker were at my house for most of the morning installing the dryer vent and fixing my dishwasher. I could not be more pleased with Shane's work and will definitely use him in the future. Also, I left him in my house while I went to work with no issue. He is extremely trustworthy and this gave me a good peace of mind.

Shane and his assistant were courteous, professional, and accomplished. The work started promptly when scheduled (to the minute!) and lasted as long as he had predicted. The work required multiple visits because Shane did it correctly...letting the plaster coats dry before adding second and finishing coats in preparation for painting. The fee was extremely reasonable. Moreover, Shane stuck to his original estimate even though we asked him to patch and paint a couple of extra places! We will definitely call S & J Residential Services in the future for repairs and renovations and will recommend him to our friends and neighbors.

Shane was professional and honest. He did a great job on what we asked him to do and charged what he said he would. He was also kind and courteous. I will contact him first, the next time I need any work done.

I can tell why S & J Residential Services is incredibly busy; Mr. Shane Weeks is awesome! He is fast, efficient, totally professional and a dream-come-true for the condo/home owner. He completed all of my tasks and referred me to another vendor when i asked advice on a separate issue. I am incompetent when it comes to tasks--Shane never showed impatience and he took time to explain the tasks and all that was needed. I explained how frustrating I had been since securing a good handyman in south FL is tough. He is "worth his weight in gold!" I'll definitely get on S & J's schedule again.

There were no additional charges. What he was scheduled to do, he did that. He got me in a reasonable time. He was quick, clean and efficient. He's an A+. He's excellent.

He showed up at the appointed time. The job was completed in a few hours and the work was good quality.

Shane is a dependable, trustworthy individual. I was more than satisfied with his commitment to getting a job done right and on time. It is very difficult to find responsible people who will commit to getting what you need done correctly and I think I found that type of handyman in Shane. I am definitely going to use his services again.

I rate him excellent on all counts

He went out of his way to change a hinge on a kitchen cabinet.

Shane and his assistant removed all the existing counter tops in the kitchen and coordinated the replacement with granite tops provided by a fine sub contractor that shane recommended. He also replaced some existing plastic laminate finish that had shown wear over the years, replaced drawer pulls and hinges as needed. and was very creative at identifying economical ways to upgrade our kitchen. Shane was extremely thorough and patient with us as decisions needed to be made. His idea for a new kitchen floor was perfectly in tune with the design intent of the original kitchen, and resulted in a remarkably beautiful new floor. He was always on time, and carefully cleaned up at the end of every work day. Because of his diligence, we found we were not inconvenienced enough to disrupt our lives in any significant way.

Estimate was higher than expected.. Not close to my budget.

I'm a property manager I have several properties in the South Miami area. in my 25 year in this profession. This by far was one of my best experience with a contractor.This properties was recently purchased the property was vandalised. There was no kitchen no bathrooms and all the interior doors where gone. S&J came over and gave me a quote this was the fourth contractor that I contacted he was the lowest and very professional. as a rule I never go with the lowest quote. I need quality work. but he proved me wrong. He quoted me 9 days to do the work and was done in 6, The property was completely tranform the quality of work was any A+ in my book plus the material came out to be $300 less and that was one of the first thing he let me know. but what really stood out, Is that there was some plumbing problems that where missed on his quote. I knew about it and was waiting for that call that never came. when I confronted him about that. He told he gave me a price and a time to do the job and he stand by his word and his work. You do not see that in this town anymore. Thanks to S&J Residential I came in under budget on this property. I strongly recommend S&J Residentail

Shane Meeks has a lot of experience working with wood, and knowledge of various carpentry jobs. The crown moulding turned out great. He worked with an assistant, and they were both very polite and respectful. He walked me through various issues that are important with crown moulding so that I would be making informed decisions about what I wanted. He also works with an associate for electrical work, and I later asked them to do some installation of outdoor lighting that turned out very good. I would work with him and his staff again for sure.

Very professional, went the extra mile to make sure the job was done. Kept work area clean and tidy. He was trustworthy and made me feel as if I did not have a stranger in my home. Highly recomend this gentelman for any job..
