Charlotte Patio & Walls

We asked Chris to perform some landscaping in our backyard as an extension of hardscape work he was doing for a neighbor next door. Communication on status of start date, progress and asking what we wanted was frequent and more than we would expect out of a contractor! They paid a lot of attention to detail and also provided great advice where we needed it. Would highly recommend TC Outdoor as someone you can trust to do the job right.

We were initially happy with their work. We signed up for a 5 year warranty and have now run into some trouble with their work. One year after the installation, some of the capstones on the wall have come loose. They have since gone out of business and we have been unable to contact them. I went to their old website, www.charlottepatio.com. The website directed me to a site for another company. Mark Tarnowski, the former owner of Charlotte Patio & Wall, works for the new company. However, I have had problems with responsiveness with the new company as well. I was even happy to pay for the repair, but I do not feel that they are being professional. I cannot get anyone to respond or come out to talk to me about the additional work.

We met with Scott twice to be sure we were happy with the design. He was very punctual and professional. He made recommendations on the type of wall to use. We had stacked stone in some existing areas, but it wasn't necessary to go to that expense on this wall because the wall will rarely be viewed from the bottom of the hill (woods). In addition, the type we used was stronger, which Scott said would be a good idea due to the size of the project. We did pay a bit more to upgrade the capstones to match the existing, so it matches beautifully with our existing wall when viewed from the top. We also requested sod rather than straw and seed for the grass, but Scott convinced us that expense wasn't necessary and was a bad time of year to try to keep sod alive. He was right, and actually the seed has sprouted and grass is filling in quickly. We appreciated that although this was a major project and we wanted to do it "right". Scott was able to give us suggestions to save money and still have a very high quality result. The crew was courteous, cleaned up every night (to the extent that they could), and did an excellent final cleanup at the end of the job.

They were very good. We are extremely pleased with the project that they did. They did a great job with the design, working it into the existing house design. I also would add that they by far were the hardest working crew I have ever seen and took real pride in their work.

Scott came out and gave us a consultation on an outdoor patio. He presented good ideas and seemed to be willing to work with us on a design that fit our needs. Our plans changed but would recommend Charlotte Patio & Wall and Scott.

Mark was very easy to deal with and was up-front about timetables and pricing. I'd use these guys again.

On initial visit, contractor discussed options including considerations for the property slope, advantages/disadvantages of various patio pavers. Problems with paver manufacturer were identified early, and quickly resolved with alternate selections and paver upgrade at no cost by manufacturer. Work was done on time, with complete cleanup after the job, and daily calls to advise me of the progress. Great work, not least expensive, but responsiveness, attention to detail, and routine communication show this company to be professional in every way.
